I played around with the color mixer a bit and re-rendered the image I posted earlier. I added just a touch of brunette to break up the black a bit and add more definition to the hair, I also turned down the shine a notch, and added a touch of sss. The differences are very very very subtle, but they are different. I like this "new" hair better than the first one.
Is it bad I read that as 'added a touch of ass' ..?

lol we have one of those cheap stores kinda like your 99c stores or whatever they are now except nothings that cheap bargin store anyway anyways it's called SHIPLOADS and everytime on tv they'll say things like you'll save shiploads or something with the name but the way they say use it it almost sounds like can't say here but just replace the p with a t
I don't have the HDRI Optimized Skin and Hair Shader, myself, so I'm afraid I can't answer that. By what I read in the description, however, I think it might be. If it is simply a shader that adjust the shine on hair, then maybe it will work with UHT2, but if it involves replacing textures it might now work "with" UHT2 so much as "instead of" UHT2. If anyone who has both is willing to share your thoughts and impressions of using them together, please do so here. I'm curious, myself.
trying haven't worked out best lighting yet to show it right yet, the guy said was mainly made to use hdri lighting like from the hdri backgrounds and outdoor scenes think was happy didn't know how really go with studio lights (skin) as it did in my render was happy about that. Oh btw hair playing with for this test is Momotsuki (Pink Moon) Hair as seen Aiko 5 in her Pro Bundle promo this is a great hair for your product as it has so many many layers and sections to really go crazy adding so many colours I used all your base colours then the colour mixer
used Elianeck Lights Package 2 probably need do more tests stoppped at 85, used uht shaders only no shine
uht2 med shine
uht2 hdmi med shine only
uht2 med shine + hdmi med shine

Those red tones are pretty. Especially with the blonde highlights. :-)

thanks Jan that hair Momotsuki (Pink Moon) Hair has a lot of layers and sections so can add lots of colours
wont work on painted on hair such as body hair as the entire body area would be weird tried on big cats that too works on manes same with other creatures but prop hairs such as head hair/scalps, fur hair such as look at my hair addons, and beards like Whiskers for Genesis 3 Male(s) http://www.daz3d.com/whiskers-for-genesis-3-male-s and Mec4D Unshaven 2 for Genesis 2 Male(s) http://www.daz3d.com/mec4d-unshaven-2-for-genesis-2-male-s yes and I just tested these two
used casino hair here only got base colours of that and yeah they are nice but the hair does have a few sections so that enabled me with your product to use all your browns to give it more shading and natural highlights
Simple Raven Hair. Though I needed to play with the scalp a bit because, oddly, there wasn't a raven hair scalp.
The actual hair is Sylphiad for A3. Another point toward the 'hey, I can do stuff with old content'
Love the hair, you did a great job with the black... I didn't include a Raven scalp because there are already two other versions of black scalps and honestly, the scalp presets only apply a diffuse (base) color to the existing texture in that channel, so if you used a white scalp from the Sylphiad hair, you would still only end up with a black scalp from UHT2. I'm not so sure about the character/morph, lol... didn't realize he was male until I saw the chest. Were you going for androgeny?

It is not painted on but something that I autofitted to Genesis 3. It seems to be just the mixing script will not work with it but the shaders will.

This is a very impressive render, angelreaper! I was pleasantly surprised to see not only UHT2, but the L'Envie set as well :) I need to ask, when you blended the shades of brown over the hair, did you use a different mask each time? That is an important step, as it will distribute the colors. Using the same mask would simply layer each color over itself. I'm sure you did it right, but I can't easily tell in the render.

did you expand the menu in the surfaces tab I noticed when I did there were a lot of sub menus with lots of layers nd sections could choose from and by applying the shaders to each layer part seperately it worked
Oooold generation 3 Donna hair with original texture, UHT2 iRay preset and Cutout 4.
Yay! So, you have shown an example not only on a very old hair product, but you have also demonstrated how UHT2 works using original textures. Thank you :)
Updates should be in your account today. New Shine Presets added, changes should be live in your accounts as of today. The four I added are two for light colored hair and two for dark colored hair, but of course they can be used on any hair, just try them all and see which gives you the best results. With 8 shine presets to choose from now, you should be able to get the look you want, or close to it then tweak the settings a bit if needed.

was wondering about tims pic too lol at first thought was female and thought oh oh tim gonna cop it for that then saw hairy navel
I don't have that beard, so I'm not sure about the uv setup on it... it looks like fibermesh to me, which usually does not have the uv style that UHT2 is made to work with. You should be able to apply any of the base colors to it, although it won't necessarily take on all the colors in the base texture, but will likely take on an average of the colors. For this reason, the Color Mixer is not effective on fibermesh hair, either. But all the other Utilities will likely have some effect so long as you have converted it to Iray first (by using one of the base colors or the Use Original Textures script)

thanks used the different shines on top of each layer darker, medium light besides the different brown tones I love your lingerie hope you do more different to others love a lot more lingerie and bikinis extra but different styles looks with ruffles and ties ribbons extra and yours fits that gap. Had to obviously have a bra under your top looks good but better not havin to do that solid version of top gotta work setting out I do cause when do solid sleeves in my renders looked solid plasticy instead of soft satin maybe my lighting I always have trouble there getting that right
BEST hair tool ever! This is Babs Hair. Made totaly from the UHT2 shaders. I layered 3 colors over a Chestnut base. Hair shine was one of the original presets (lowest.) You get the correct amount of shine by adding a mesh light above the hair. :)
oh, she is so cuuute! (imagine a deep voiced man suddenly sounding like a 4 year old girl, lol) Good point on the original shine presets. It's important to actually have a light hitting the hair to get a good highlight (same holds true for eyes) because HDRI lighting doesn't always provide good specular highlights. I think that is the big reason behind the new HDRI skin and hair shaders set that was released recently... to add more shine to scenes lit by HDRI (but adding your own lights can go a long way and will look good)

That's kinda cool. Definitely different. I'd like to know the story behind that render. The hair is so soft, it does look like a raven's wings. Well, I don't know if a raven's wing is soft, but the hair's pretty anyway. :-)

Heh, I'd like to say there was a story, but it was mainly 'hrm, I should do another male figure. Hmm, the g2m hairs I have are limited and I've done them a billion times, what else have we got... oh hey, some of this old stuff I picked up recently. I should experiment with UHT2 more. I like black lustrous hair, let's try that...'

LOL, that's funny. :-) Pretty colors!
@Simon and Ice Dragon -- Freud would say...well, you all know what Freud would say.
LOL i read it as a touch of 'sass' and thought Slosh had named one of the colours 'sass"...thought that was pretty cool LOL
The power of suggestion! Thats my story and I'm sticking to it
Good story. I'd stick to that one, too.
No kidding!

Is this only for certain types of hair? I am trying to put it on the beard from this set http://www.daz3d.com/fw-alfred-hd-for-michael-6 but it will not let me.
