New artworks for the PC+, Fast Grab & Freebie banners.
But where is the 89.33% off DAZ Originals to celebrate?
The PC+ one is fine but the Fast Grab banner is a huge downgrade :/
New stuff in fastgrab.
But it's only 70% off... :) You should also check out the thousands of stuff that is 80% and 90% off! :)
yep, including the commecial game developers license, a STEAL at 90% off with a new purchase
Greetings,
@FSMCDesigns Yes, but is it valid at that price? The text of it says that 'All discounts are not applicable to this item.' which makes me think that if I bought the license at the awesome price of $175, that it might not be valid.
I've never been sure of the answer to this, and it's not like it's something DAZ can really 'officially' answer, I guess.

I mean no one made them include it with those selected items on sale, so one would assume it's there for a reason and thus the sale should be upheld?
That price is absolutely ridiculous though...
It has to be valid, but you never know with DAZ. The indie one is on sale also, tempted for $50
Greetings,
I've submitted a help request, because if it's valid, I can't help myself but to buy a license at that price. I may never use it, but it'll probably never be cheaper than that...and I don't qualify for the indie one. :(

Greetings,
So...that's the answer, I suppose. It got taken out of the discount pool. :(
The response I got from support wasn't very clear. Essentially saying it's on sale, but other coupons or offers don't apply to it. Which is pretty null, semantically. However the price rebounding to 'full price' pretty much answers the underlying question. It wasn't supposed to be discounted, so it probably wouldn't count if I'd bought it at that price.
...ah well.

If they issue you a license, it should be a valid license regardless of what you paid for it...it's not your fault if you didn't pay the full price due to a mistake on their end. The license should stand. Of course, now that price has been corrected...so...kinda irrelevant. And, then, of course, IANAL, so my comment is worth about as much as you paid to receive it:) But, it seems really hard to believe they could invalidate a license simply because you purchased it during a sale through their system without doing anything shady. You simply navigated to the page just like they expect you to, added it to your cart, checked out.
Agreed. Sorry to hear that Morgan, We should have bought it when we had the chance, not like they can deny the license once purchased.
Hello
Which are the new items that qualify for the monday flashback discounts? Are, for instance, the pc+ items from april 16 included?
Ramon
Greetings,
That's the thing; we're talking about legal, ongoing contracts, and more than a thousand dollars of difference in price. It's entirely possible for the answer to be, 'No, you purchased the license at a discount, when the agreement (as specified on the item page) explicitly says: No discounts. Given that, you're out of compliance and need to buy the commercial license at full price.' And worse, it's entirely possible for this to happen AFTER you start to ship a game. I know DAZ is a very good company, and they probably wouldn't do something like that, but it's a contractual issue, and those are just dangerous waters. If I buy a commercial license, I want *certainty*. It's what I'm paying for.
I don't screw around with contract-related stuff, it has way, way too high a chance to bit you on the tucus. My vision of using the content has to do with the burgeoning field of VR, but I'm years away from being in a position to do anything with that, so I'm just not going to worry about it for now.

The sale says ANY new item, so anything from the last 60 days, with the "NEW" logo on top of it should trigger the discount. I used a PC+ item myself, that was whishlisted anyway.
I suspect the answer is yes, because I read somewhere that even the free items are working as qualifiers.
I combined two new items from yesterday with the 90% off and was able to get the $10 off, since most of those were DAZ originals. Great sale!
What is this $10 off, that many people keep mentioning? Did I miss something? :-o
Never mind, found it.
And Really nice Stuff. One even reacted to the current Sale ( I belive the Olympia Poses. Adding Another Plushi lowerd the price....
Greetings,
Asked for clarity, and got a very nice official answer:
So, for future reference, if you see the Commercial (or Indie, if you qualify) license discounted well enough, and you think you might ever use it...grab it! :)
-- Morgan
Fastgrab changed.
Yeah, it changed as I was checking out! So my $20 purchase turned into $68! Charged full price, submitted a support ticket to sales already, so just learn from my mistake people, refresh that cart before checking out.
I guess it would have been a bigger trouble for them to sell an item/contract that is not valid. It is interesting why they would honor the sale even when it meant more than thousand of dollar worth of loss. They could have easily accepted fault and refunded the transaction.
OTOH, if I ever plan for doing serious business of game development with daz assets, I wouldn't depend on a statement from support staff which is in conflict with that clearly spelled out in the contract. The legal hassles and risks could possibly cost more than paying full price.
EDIT: The EULA does not mention anything about discounts and the clause "All discounts are not applicable to this item." is only on the product description page. So if they have started honoring discounts, they should also remove that "irrelevant" clause from the description.
Doesn't help always - I am paying with PayPal and had the effect once of hitting pay now at PayPal (at the sale price) and when the cursor spinning stopped and I ended up at Daz - the price had changed.
Luckily Support is great here!
A countdown for the final 10 minutes might help. It might even encourage people to make up their minds and buy - that all-too-human obsession with grabbing a bargain. Of course, I wouldn't fall for such an obvious psychological ploy. ;)
Jack Tomalins Anderson Hall and Anderson Hall Vestibule was added to Fastgrab matching the Iray Preset releaced as PC+ today
New stuff in fastgrab again. :)
Someone Owns the Laguna: Underwater Lights for Iray
Promos and text are not so "enlightening" (hihi) and 7,50 is to much to buy it in the dark (hihi again)
I don't have it, but I think the renders are sufficient to encourage me to want it. I'd probably grab it if I hadn't blown way past my budget during the extended madness sale.
I bought this a while back, haven't found time to use it yet. It consists of a bunch of Iray light presets for different underwater contexts, with utilities for turning on features like caustics (the squiggly glowing lines that you see on surfaces underwater).
I did a test render using one of the swimming pool presets, with caustics turned on. The images below are the raw render, and a post-edited render where I tweaked the color and applied a gradient.
Conclusion: based on a very brief test, I'd say that it's quite a nice set of Iray lights, and could be a good starter for your underwater scenes. The light presets will probably also work reasonably well as general lights.
