This whole Shop & Catchup sale is really nice.... my Wishlist is down to 24 Items..

Everything left falls in 3 Categories:

    1) Non-MM "New" Items - 16

    2) Stuff I want but don't have the Time for to really use now (mostly Tools like LAMH or Tutorials) - 6

    3) Stuff That I hope for a even better discount later (Like Generation 6 Bundles)  - 2

I tried putting a few things into my cart along with the daily mind blower and it looks as though the max discount I can get is about 55% off. Is that right?

    Yes, that sounds right.

If you purchased The Girl Pro bundle, you'd see another 10% off.

Yes If you bought The Girl Pro Bundle in February you can get approx 60%

For Daz Originals you get a bit more if you are a PC+ Mber (I belive around 70% (74% with TGPro))

Doh, Daz just couldn't wait till the weekend for their catch-up sale :(

I would have thought that seeing as how (at least here in America) payday is usually on a Friday, it would have made more sense to have a sale when people have more money.

Or maybe that's the plan, have the good sales when people don't have money so when they do get cash, they have to buy stuff at full price (or try to hold out till the next sale)

Hmm, well I'm thinking of some items; six (one free) to be precise, but not been that impressed so far. Before today I've bought iirc four items during March Madness.

Is the Mad Artist Catalog Boost working for people today? Should any DAZ Original trigger the extra 30% today (since DAZ Originals is listed in the Mad Artist Catalogs)?

Thanks for confirming L'Adair & Renomista. I think I can happily pass on 55% right now.

Only 4 newly Mad items? Is this the plan or did some fail to load?

Catch up / Whole non new Shop sale is ongoing!

They're sticking with the mid-month thing, and there' s no "last chance saloon" propaganda, so maybe it's not ending this week.

  • What's new today I can't see it ?

  • I thought they were from yesterday I got to keep up with things !!! blush

Is anyone else slightly weirded out by Tool Girl for G3F?

Long-term users (or people who shop at That Other Site) may be familiar with the original Tool Girl by ConnieKat / BadKittehCo, which was for V4. If I remember correctly, Tool Girl was once for sale at DAZ, before the creator withdrew her catalog from the DAZ site to sell elsewhere.

Tool Girl for G3F shares the same name and general concept -- very short shorts and a midriff-baring top, plus hard hat and accessories -- as the BadKittehCo original, but it looks as if it was developed by a completely different team of artists and the modeling and texturing style is quite different. So -- as far as I can tell -- it's in no sense a new version of the original, despite sharing the same name and concept.

For all I know, BadKittehCo had a hand in the new product, or authorized the DAZ artists to make a new version. But if she didn't, might it not have been better to choose a different name for the product, to avoid any implication of a connection between the two?

I *knew* there was something familiar about the product... Thanks for the memory boost

I mean, I'm not saying your connection isn't right, but that's a pretty standard skimpy outfit and the name "tool girl" doesn't exactly take a fit of creativity to arrive at. Personally I just wish there were normal versions of all these outfits for humans to wear (e.g. having a skimpy girl american football outfit is fine, and people seem to be into that, but there's no way to make an actual football team? Bit silly.

Oh hey there is one. Bit old though, and it says it comes with towel and undergarments but I can't really tell what that is supposed to mean from the promos. Ideally though I'd like one where you can have the armor parts separate etc. too.

But mainly I meant like proper police and fire etc. etc. outfits (there are some older police ones, but the only fire one I could find was http://www.daz3d.com/fire-hazard-for-genesis-2-female-s )

Yeah, agreed. I would really, really like a decent, realistic police uniform for G2 and G3 (male and female) - non-slutty. And fireman for the men would be good too.

I originally liked the look of the Fire Hazard set for G2F but then I noticed that the bra straps conform to the contours of the body, which just looks wrong. They should be a straight line from shoulder to bra, more like the suspenders.

Yea pretty much all conforming swimsuits/bras have that same problem, it's so painful to look at.

PoserWorld has uniforms for police and fire, but these are for M4/V4 or earlier, so obviously fairly old. Still look ok though, and Auto-fit pretty well.

I don't know if I'll be able to handle the suspense. Tomorrow is payday and if March Madness catch-up lasts till then, I'm doing some shopping in the morning! Just 1 more day...

    one more...

I think they need to get my padded room ready.

I haven't been impressed by the March Madness sale. In fact I found it very boring as 90% of the items I didn't want. So I saved a lot of money and only bought those items I really wanted, especially the Stonemason ones.

  • nelsonsmithnelsonsmith Posts: 1,337

This March madness sale killed my bank account, but I'm good.  Cleaned out a good portion of my Wishlist.  I should have pretty much most of the things  I need to realize some of the concepts in my head, or at least to train with until I'm good enough to actually make it happen.

    Thanks Daz.

I don't think this problem is ever going away, and as long as people are obviously continuing to buy these items the only choice I've seen is to take this hobby up a notch to the next level and just start learning to design items on my own.

I've felt just the same. What's unimpressing me the most is that they seem to be holding over the two items I really do want (Cath's new iRay shader pack and magix101 iRay SkyDomes) until they've finished playing Silly Sales. 'Get that item cheaper that you don't want much - by buying two items that you want even less!'. No thanks. I don't remember March being this 'meh' last year, and I'll be glad when things get back to what passes for normal around here.

Normal means the entire store costing twice as much as it does today.
