    Oh Crap -

Rendered wth Daz 4.8  HDRi Back ground, more details in my post in my gallery

  • Yes, I love the set and it worked really nicely in Iray without too much fuss.  I only needed to fix the scrolls on the back wall and that was fairly easy to do in Gimp before I started rendering.  Let me know when you post the animation.  I'd love to see it.

...really cool.  With the proper aspect ratio, that could make a nice book cover.

I was trying to remake the cover of the first book from when they reprinted the old pulp stories by Walter Gibson. It's not quite right, but it was interesting seeing how I could do at it. It's one of those where it's no good outside the frame. He's not wearing the coat, it's just positioned to look like it, the gun is floating unheld, the scarf pokes through. That kinda thing.
  • Just trying to create several characters. Here's Vulcan...

I didn't render my set in iray as it would be to much work and very time consuming for animation and I pretty much left the set completely intact including the wall scrolls & accept for a few window panals to let light in, I won't post them on here because they are not Iray But  if you like  you may view a few some of my test renders on my google page  [email protected]  It really is a great set

Went in close and hid the volume sphere. Fourteen hours or so, CPU only. Again the only lighting is from the dome coming through the spaces in the roof and Emissive shader on the light bulbs.

...again beautiful.  The fact that no faces can be seen under the hoods makes those figures look more sinister and mysterious.

  • FishtalesFishtales Posts: 6,228

    Thank you.

I had thought of a glowing skull or a light sphere in each but the blackness, as you say, adds to the mystery.

I had to laugh at this one!  Well done.  Nice touch with the pile on the ground.

((Blushing )))Thank you very much for the very sweet comments .  I just been working with daz studio and poser a very very very very long time so I got a lot of techniques & experience with using these software in animation . so I have some cheats that helps me speed up my animation renders with out loosing the quality of the finished rendered animation. which I save mine in AVI instead of a million pngs I have to put together. in a film editor.

Experimenting with translating Iray <> 3DL.

Hit... a lot of issues, but hey. Learning. ;)

    Original: http://willbear.deviantart.com/art/Ren-man-591905033

    3DL version: http://willbear.deviantart.com/art/Ren-Man-3DL-592321494

Iray version is better, IMO, but the 3dl didn't come out badly. Reflecting on the fact that 3dl renders, I often want to blur them a little, while Iray I want to sharpen.

Looks like Bot Genesis with gold materials applied to the parts and the white applied to Genesis. http://www.daz3d.com/bot-genesis

Ah yes thank you. I have been searching the last days for a robot and even after searching again I didn't recognize it. Really nice surface adjustments from Zilvergrafix.

I'm a BIT of a fan of bot Genesis. Main character in my webcomic uses that. ;) (And I finally picked up the G2 version)

Also had fun turning it to weird purposes:

I love the Bot Genesis. I'm trying to put together an Iray version of my old Microsister Kirasu pic. :)   This is the original, probably firefly rendered, using the original Aikobot.

The biggest difference between the two...the 3DL version is lacking the 'bounce' light of the Iray.  Remember Iray does full global illumination (bounce, occlusion, etc) by default...3DL doesn't.
