Now that's cool.  Amid transformation but the Wolf would be up and growling at this guy changing.  Love the lighting and the atmosphere!

My recent IRAY render. yup, I'm a little bit proud ;)

...indeed, wow. Looks almost like a photo.

And in celebration of my recent gift...

Castle Dungeon, Wolf 2.0 by AM, Lycaon the Werewolf by Rawart, all bought today. Woo.

...very nice I really like the contrast between the daylight streaming though the window and the interior lighting.

    I need that wolf...

Yeah, I've been playing more with LAMH lately -- it seems more stable in 4.9 than 4.8. Also, now that I've started doing more 3DL stuff, hair works even nicer.

I've also been trying to get more animals lately. I can modify Genesis/Genesis 2 into a variety of monsters, but without, you know, regular stuff wandering around, scenes can look weird.

...have yet to port one of my Garibaldi hair sets into Iray.  Not sure only 11GB of memory will be able to handle the extra poly load.

Another 'Will's drunken purchase spree' special. Using Instances Plus to generate a forest (I LOVE the script, works great, though best to be a little careful about where you populate stuff least your machine melt), Red Fox, Royal Eastern Dragon.

Man. I adore Rawart. So many nifty figures or figure morphs, and often on sale or at reasonable prices. (I really like other vendors' stuff, too, but the others I like are more often more expensive and less mixable with other stuff I have)

    And another.

In this case, the V4 muscle map isn't new, I've had it for a while. What IS new is the V4->G2F uv map thingie that makes using V4 maps much easier.

The octopus is an amazing item. It's an old item. SKU 338. Whoa. But it's REALLY well-made. The rigging is elaborate, there are morphs for the mantle and head... just... wow. And unlike some older models, the surfaces are well-designed -- skin, suckers, eyes.

Also picked up Painter's Lights, which I've been meaning to do for a while. It's a huge time saving for some very nice light effects.

    Oh, nudity warning.

Nice, Will.  Love that little bit of light catching the wolf's paw.  Nice atmosphere.

And another another. Also another example of 'old content can still be awesome' -- the Squirrel dates from 2008, and it still looks amazing. Frankly, even without LAMH it looks great and whomever made it was really clever about the tail (a bunch of overlapping opacity maps make it look furry)

Bot Armor for G2F, Daz Squirrel (with free preset from furrythings.com ), Painter's Lights, all from recent splurge.

This one is still rendering but I thought I would post this preview.

The only lighting is from the Iray Dome, no map, and the Emissive lights. I added a sphere with SSS for the mist/dust. There are only two figures in the scene, the supplicant kneeling and the enforcer, The Freak, the others are just the one cloak, the rest are instances, with no-one inside it :)

Wow, good use of mist. I have a devil of a time getting it to appear right.

    Thanks Will.

Funnily enough it was one of your posts mentioning setting the angle to 90 or -90 that got that to work properly by setting it to -40 and SSS is set at 0.0002, I think :) That image is fifteen hours into the render and it is still running, another 5½ hours gone and it is only 58% done, CPU only on this laptop laugh Looks like it might go two days surprise

You know, given talk about time and aged content, I think I'm going to try making a render with a bunch of old stuff, like everything pre-2003.

Hmm. I may have to make an exception for human figures, since I don't have anything pre-V4 (which is 2006).

    ...Fishtales, that is incredible.

Hmm just instancing the cloaks give me an idea for when I need a lot of fully armoured soldiers in a scene.

Thank you. Believe it or not it is still rendering. 29 hours or so and still at 79%. I'll leave it to run overnight, 10:00PM here, to see how long it will go for laugh

Broke down and bought more stuff, including Mec4D's PBR shader (been meaning to get that for a long time, but it never seemed to be on sale when I had money, so)

...really nice. but "ouch" on that render time.

...and I thought Lux was glacial.

Really can't wait for Nvidia's release of the new Pascal GPUs. (currently in the testing and validation phase so it shouldn't be much longer).

    ...mmmmm...16 GB video memory.

...really cool.  With the proper aspect ratio, that could make a nice book cover.

That's a nice render, Will.  Love MecD's PBR shaders.  I used that when I totally banged up TheAntFarm's Watch Dog.  I did take it into Hexagon first and had a go at it and made a couple of morphs so it didn't look quite so new.  The PBR shaders were perfect for the effect I wanted.  (Photo posted earlier, but back aways.)

Here is a new one that I did as a gift for the head of my sons' karate organization.  I'm still waiting to hear how he likes it, but I posted it in my gallery.  I really like how it turned out.  It took FOREVER to render, though, because the original render was 6000 px x 4800 px so it could be printed up poster size.  All I can say is that when you render something that size, you see things wrong with a render than you don't when it is down around 2000 x 1600!
