Thanks... just "bought" it also. I was in a submissive obedient mood today so I gave in and finally downloaded/installed Windows 10... so I might as well install some DAZ encrypted products while I'm at it. I am the type of guy who plans to collaborate with the evil aliens when they invade and round up folks into their space ships.....HOW TO SERVE MAN---------------------------."ITS A COOK BOOK!!!!"

Depends if you consider payment being cash (credit/card etc); or buying into a procedure or service.

To be fair, this is exactly what several people asked for in the encryption thread: A true freebie for Encrypted DAZ Connect so they could try it out; One that wasn't part of the usual free with purchase/free for PC+ members cycle.
I will grab it, the video I render may not be to DAZ's liking though.
AND once again, no indication that it's Encrypted Connect Only until, and unless, you check the product page. Surely someone at DAZ is talented enough to quickly create an icon for the thumbnails to indicate it's encrypted and therefore Connect Only.
I wish it ... oh, can't make a wish, I don't have the props ... ;)

Daz used to give away a lot of freebies. Now what happened was that many of us took those freebies and used them in non-Daz software, which wasn't exactly fair to Daz (because you didn't actually have to spend a cent here to get the freebie). When I saw Daz Connect my first thought was, this would be a great idea for Daz to reinstate the freebies but make sure they're locked into Daz, after all they're not free to Daz and this would be a way of making their software even more attractive.
Now you guys can look a gift-horse in the mouth and say, I'm not taking it, I'm not using it. That's okay.
I still think it's a great idea and very generous from Daz to give a freebie for zero money and not requiring me to spend a cent here. (It's not that I object to spending a cent here - I just don't have money for that.)

Also as I said in the MO forum, the existing PC weekly/monthly freebies will be made available for download via all the usual channels (DIM, Manual and Connect)
I shall resist the forces of evil at all cost, for they shall have to pry my Windows 7 Pro, DS 4.8 copy out of my cold dead hands... I probably should wear gloves more and use a little hand lotion, they really do look pretty dead... But regardless, it is I who shall serve alien! With a bit of parsley and a nice honey glaze!... Naa, that doesn't sound good... Maybe something lemony... They taste like those big salamanders, so they probably need a good marinade too... But you know, since you brought it up, I wonder what a good marinade for people is... They say people taste like chicken, but every time I get burned it smells like steak... Tastes somewhere between beef and pork... Probably a good steakhouse type marinade would do... Well, the struggle against the forces of evil will probably be a long one so, just let me know when you get around to eating people, I'd be interested in knowing what the aliens use.

Since DAZ can hardly use data from a free product to gauge 'sales', I'm getting it to experiment with. Might as well see where I can break the system and keep the Tech Support people from being bored.
Ticket, because othervice DAZ thinks we will support encrypted.
Because buying any encrypted item (even a free one) can be seen as a show of support. Some of us are unwilling to support daz's new DRM in any way. When you accidentally purchase a free item that is encrypted, the only way to really undo that is to file a ticket explaining that and having it removed.
