    You can dowload them in 1 year, so it is not quite never.

    ...Assuming that DAZ doesn't change things again.  Maybe they'll drop DRM and the products will become unencrypted in a week.  Maybe they'll start encrypting everything and 11 months from now they'll decide not to unencrypt after a year.  No way to know, and DAZ is free to change things regardless....

    Not at all sure were the confusion was started or why.No one has to wait for a year to use any of the encrypted items. We can use them as soon as they are downloaded and installed. That should only take a few minutes depending on your download speed.

    We just have to wait for a year from release to get an unencrypted version.
    That isn't the same as not being able to use it at all for a year, which simply isn't true.

    Assuming, of course, that you are using 4.9.  Which some of us (for various reasons) are not.

    Assuming someone isn't pre-4.9, using Bryce or Carrara (or Poser, or...), or a bunch of other cases that have been stated at great length.

    I'm hoping 'a year' turns into some much shorter period, once Daz actually starts releasing Encrypted pay items and people avoid buying them.

    Having ANY fixed period of release at least gives Daz an option to dial things differently.

    Assuming of course you are using DS. These kind of props are perfectly usable in Carrara and Poser, but not if they are DC only
