oh that stuff is where dreams come from

Ok.  If you say so. laugh

You got 'shrooms in the pasta sauce again?

Marshmallow Fluff is one of the great inventions!

    Dana

smiley  Me and my kid used to eat it right out of the jar.  Now, I avoid it.

It's like cane syrup.  Just too much of a good thing.

2 tablespoons (one serving) is only 40 calories...and only 6 grams of sugars!

I once made the Never Fail Fudge recipe with my mom when I was in high school.  Yummy!  Made a lot, too!

    Dana

I made squirrel candy once. laugh  I knew better than to eat it, but everybody else didn't.

Stuck their teeth together, even the dog's. angel

Non-complaint:  Had a minor adventure yesterday.  74 miles total driving. Drove along Lake Chautauqua (long skinny lake) to reach the eastern shore of Lake Erie (a fresh water sea) at Barcelona, NY, in beautiful weather preceeding a storm.  Got to fish market at Lake Erie and bought a half of a smoked Whitefish (yum) ($7/pound) to bring home and have on saltines with beer while vegetating in front of the TV.  Took slightly different route home down the other side of Lake Chautauqua past Chautauqua Institution.  Storm never came (yea)  Got home, removed skin & bones from Whitefish flesh and put the salty, smokey, pink, firm flesh in container for snacking on Sunday (fingers now stink of fishy smoke, blech!)

Checked on performances at Chautauqua this week.  Last symphony of the season will be Tuesday in the Chautauqua Amphitheater.  Brahms 2nd Symphony after the intermission, but first will be Wynton Marsalis and the "Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra" doing a premier performance of new Wynton Marsalis work with of course Wynton Marsalis on trumpet. (ooh, cool).  Price will not be the regular $40 but will be only $20 (one of the "Community Appreciation" events of the season.)  I haven't made it to a concert this season.  I HAVE to get to this one rain or shine.  It ain't easy to entertain jaded old fogeys, but when the ducks are all in a row we get like giddy teenagers. surprise

Now watching Man of Steel to see what I am not understanding about Batman vs Superman's beginning.  Then watch Batman VS Superman after that.

...I remember when a whole Smoked Whitefish was one buck twenty five (back in Milwaukee) .7$ a pound isn't too bad. compared to 12 - 14$ out here where I live..  All we usually get where I live is smoked salmon and I have a mild allergy to salmon.

Haven't been to the symphony or even a recital in a couple years. :-(

Age -- my grandma stayed 91 for years and years.  I have no idea how old she was when she passed.

...yep. Actually had several BC collections.

Back when I was in College in Wisconsin  student's were allowed to paint their dorm rooms (within reason of course).  Another friend of mine who was also a BC addict lived in one of the residence halls,  One afternoon he mentioned he would like a BC motif on his wall. OK, me being the artist sat down and sketched a few ideas out and we finally settled on one.  Using each of the wall blocks as a single panel, I did a series of Thor on his wheel riding along from the window around the corner and to the  back of the room.  As he comes along and he panics and ducks just in time to avoid smacking the bulletin board (which was "head high" for him).  After getting past that he then sighs and in th next panel turns and gives that big "cheesy" grin after which suddenly...GDUNGE!!!  he smacks into the side of the mirror.   Not sure if it is still there as this was something like  40 years ago.

  • From the list of 'things that make you go "hmmmm"....'

So I saw a mermaid the other day.  I don't know her mermaid age, but her face and upper body appeared as though she were a girl of about 12.  She was sitting in a minivan, with a beautiful tail, hanging partly out of the doorway, waiting for her dad to finish gassing up the vehicle.  There was no water anywhere near, which is probably why she looked so sad.  It was either that or maybe she was dejected because she was unable to go inside for ice cream with her sisters who had legs instead of tails.

    Hmmmmm....   indecision
