    Reminds me of the surprise appearance of the little girl in the old Myst series game "Riven".  Picture it, 1999.  You've wandered completely alone through the first game "Myst",  Then this new game "Riven" comes out and is head and shoulders above the first but still you wander alone through the empty world.  You finally get off the first island and find yourself in the dark forest wandering alone along the path when "SURPRISE", there's a little girl at your feet looking up at you and you poop your pants.  OMG there are people here!!!!

    You never interact with these people they always scurry out of your way but you are still walking around with heavier than normal underwear.
