My betta is like go to bed so I can get some sleep.  Or maybe he is like go to F'in bed so I can get some F'in sleep

Hmmm... "F'in sleep" is that when a fish tucks its head under its fin for a nap?  Wait..., how do they do that????? surprise  OMG, fish got necks!  Almost as surprising as "Clams got legs".

...yeah. One afternoon I was sitting outside at a local nieghbourhood pub when this street person came by and got beligerent with one of the other customers sitting outside who wouldn't give him a ciggie. He not only started yelling but attmpted to pick a fight with the one person as well as another fairly burly patron who asked him politely to calm down and leave. Moments later the bartender came out and told the fellow that if he didn't leave she would call the police, after which he both insulted and threatened her as well. She immediately went in and made the call.

The scene continued for a while longer with him looking like he was going to leave then turning back to take more issue with the two patrons.  A half hour after he finally got frustrated that neither of the other two were going to fight him and stormed off, the police finally showed up.

Perhaps they were filling out paperwork from the last call.  Or perhaps they were trying to figure out how to use their new in-car computer.

Cops actually turn up to a crime scene? Round here they're too busy hiding behind street furniture and pointing radar guns at motorists. They don't turn up to real crimes unless it's something really high profile and there are TV crews (or there's a reality TV "documentary" crew following them)

Ah yes,  cop reality shows.  I actually enjoy them but sometimes I get the feeling that the cops are taking advantage of an "Alice's Restaurant" opportunity.

"... I want tell you about the town of
Stockbridge, Massachusets, where this happened here, they got three stop
Signs, two police officers, and one police car, but when we got to the
Scene of the Crime there was five police officers and three police cars,
Being the biggest crime of the last fifty years, and everybody wanted to
Get in the newspaper story about it. And they was using up all kinds of
Cop equipment that they had hanging around the police officer's station.
They was taking plaster tire tracks, foot prints, dog smelling prints, and
They took twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy photographs with circles
And arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each
One was to be used as evidence against us. Took pictures of the approach,
The getaway, the northwest corner the southwest corner and that's not to
    Mention the aerial photography...."

Actually, I do have a mate who is a SOCO (Scenes Of Crime Officer - our equivalent of a CSI) in another part of the country. Not actually a cop, although he does work for the police force. He's my go to guy for getting things right when I write about things like blood spatter or burn patterns etc at crime scenes. Even better than the Dummy's Guide to Forensics! lol

Another complaint, I once downloaded a photo of kitty porn to my tablet.  The photo is back.  I cannot post the picture here because I doubt it can be seen as family-friendly.  It is nothing too exciting as it is just two kitties attempting to make kittens.

Well, that's better than at Dunkin' Doughnuts eating doughnuts and drinking coffee.  Oh, wait..., no it isn't.  Starbucks has fried carbohydrates too don't they?

'Nother complaint:  I for some unknown reason decided to make a big casserole of scalloped potatoes today.  Potatoes all peeled, ham chopped, onions chopped, mushroom soup sauce all prepared, ingredients all mixed and layered in the dish properly, oven hot, and then I realize I have no Velveeta cheese to lay on the top when it comes out of the oven.  Rushed to store only to find out that it closed minutes earlier for the holiday.  Bummer! frown  I guess I'll have to try sprinkling it with grated Parmesan or use thin slices of Jalepeno Monterey Jack.  Leftovers will have to be really hot to ensure soft cheese but they don't sound too bad.

Seems like those two are always wandering in the woods.  Based on the things they see I think they've been sampling the mushrooms. surprise

...yeah, hence a large fan base here.  Never seen an episode myself though I've seen them filming in various parts of the city from time to time.

Croissants, Bagels, and Biscotti are more popular fare at Starbucks.

When I lived in downtown Washington DC, I used to sometimes meet friends at Starbucks near the Archives building & Metro station (photo  below).  I never had a food item there just coffee.  It's there that I developed my dislike for overpriced bitter coffee.   I eventually just stopped going.

Non-complaint:  My scalloped potatoes casserole came out good.  A little runny (It's been 5 or 6 years since I'd made it and I'd forgotten how much milk to add.  Will add less next time enlightened) but otherwise tasty.  Used both grated parmesan and pepper-jack on top.  Melted well.   I stirred it into the top inch or so.  Mmmmm, tasty. yes

You could see the Archives building (2nd photo) from the sidewalk tables.  DC was an interesting place to live.  I'd go back and live in one of those fancy downtown apartments on Pennsylvania Ave. over top of the Archives Metro station.  What a view!  But I'd have to win a major lottery though. frown
