    Okay, sure thing !

The first weekly build is out for MEGA or higher Patrons. It has mostly boring but needed new features as promised. Better font readability as a result of switching to a proper UI framework. A slightly more unified design. And a few bug fixes.

A new menu button in the top left

    brings up a config window.

It has presets for the most common 3d packages and by default uses your customized Daz Studio settings if you had any, otherwise default.

You can customize by clicking on a field and recording your preferred combination of Shift, Ctrl, Alt and Mouse button 1 to 5. These will be persisted in a Custom preset.

Customize all your keyboard shortcuts here. Bit overkill with a primary and alternate, but I wanted Ctrl-D and G to both drop to ground and Ctrl-Y and Ctrl-Shift-Z to both undo so why not. Restore to defaults at the bottom of the list.

    Improved/Fixed

    • Prevented a newly transferred figure from intermittently appearing as a black silhouette while its graphics pipelines finish loading.

    • Faster startup time.

    • Improved text clarity, display-scaling support for icons, control outlines, and checkbox grouping.

    • Receiving a figure now restores BJ Rapid Pose and brings it to the foreground if it was minimized.

    • Prevented mouse orbit from crossing a pole and unexpectedly reversing its vertical direction.

Cannot link, find it on Patreon.

Try it for yourself. It's the exact same software but you can't send the poses to Daz Studio. Your customized settings will carry over to the full version.

Thank you for having deployed the new features as well as fixed the bugs !

Then do I have to uninstall the 0.3.2 first of all ? The installer tells me tiral version cannot be installed ~

Yeah I'm preventing overwriting a full version with a trial. Did you wanna try the new features or something? You could uninstall the full version first, that should probably work.

Yep, I uninstalled the full version and I'm playing with the trial one. So far so good, thanks !  BTW,

    1) The plugin doesn't mean to work in Public Build of DS 4/6, correct ?
    2) When sending a figure, better send the figure's current status as well as without the hidden nodes... (pls see the table in screenshot 1... )
    3) Better be able to send Props with which Genesis figure can interact when being posed.

Props aren't even supported yet. How did you manage that? laugh Is that that table a figure or something? I just tried with some random furntiure and couldn't get it transfer over.

It should work, but you need to change the folders in the installer to point to those instead. Or copy the BJ_RapidPose.dll and dsp_BJ_RapidPose.dll afterwards.

Edit: ah yes, I see it in the outliner. The tables and chairs are set up like a figure. Cool. Proper props support is something that I'll be working on fairly soon. It's often needed for posing. Chairs to sit on, swords to hold etc.

    2) ...without the hidden nodes...

Agreed, or transfer them but make them invisible by default with a proper visibility toggle. There's already a list of figures (later props) where each could have such a toggle.

Hi.  Tried the beta test in Daz Studio 4.24, and got this:

That could be any number of hardware/driver related things. Would need to know your hardware specs and GPU driver version. Best to come to the Discord for that, I'll be happy to help you resolve it.

Edit: bit of a long shot but maybe something weird with the figure. I can't find anything called Toon Vixen. Is this just a Genesis 9 Toon or something?

Yes, I copied the plugins (0.3.2) to the same folders under DS 4 / DS 6 Public Build, then I got the error message when pressing Send... button, in both DS 4 and 6 Public Build. Pls check the attached ss.

This looks great. I would like to see funtional:

    a) When I place an object/prop in a hand, under the feet, and so forth in DAZ, it's so painstaking and awkward, and I frequently get it wrong, for 1st order of business is this gets it right, and it adjusts the entire pose/prop/character when the character is morphed into another character/prop as their size can be quite dfferent.

    b) Extending that a) to automagically adjust all the AniMate loop clips available in the DAZ Store to the modern characters.

    c) I would be nice to see a drag & drop utility - 1) Input a circa 2009 Animate Clip for M4/V4 2) Output that Animate Clip for the more modern Genisis 9/Geneis 8.1/Genesis 8/Genesis 3 character as morphed in the UI, eg Generic G9 Male morph/Generic G9 Female/One of Raw Art's more extreme morphs as proof of concept & robustness of purpose.

    Keep up the great work!

    a) Not sure I'm quite following but I am working on props support right now. b) and c) I don't feel this has anything to do with this. Sounds more like some scripts for very specific things.

Forgot to post this here. In 0.5.0 I added translation-only pinning (Ctrl-Space). So the pinned hand is allowed to rotate but not move. Detail selection based on zoom levels, so single toes become selectable at a certain zoom level. Gizmo thickness and size are now configurable. Improved gizmo readability and an auto pin feet checkbox.

0.6.0 just landed and brings support for static props, parented props/figures, changing pivots including sending them back to Daz Studio, a Scale tool, better scrollable hierachrical sidebar with visibility toggles.

Oh yeah, and it comes in color smiley

  • Have you thought about adding a modern timeline? It's the other obvious deficiency in DAZ, the neglected, painful to use timeline.

    @bluejaunte

1st milestone of sending Props can well meet my need at current stage, thank you !

    Some issues and requests:
    0) Send changes, back to DS, Ctrl + Z.  Back to RP window, Send changes again, nothing happens ~ It's by design, correct ?  i.e. at least I have to make a pose change before the next Send changes ?  Not sure but maybe better use a way: Send Current Pose rather than send a delta ?
    1) I gave left arm a full pin, then dragged left index 3 (to appr. offset Y -0.32 ), it turned into Luffy's arm ~ (screenshot 1)  I'm not sure if there's any constraints
    2) Can options like Keep window on top memorized / saved in registry or somewhere else... like memorizing window state ?  so that I don't have to click the options again next time after RP window pops up...
    3) Better add an option: Minimize window after sending pose...
    4) Better add a Zero Pose button or action so that we don't have to repeat Undo or resend the figure ...
    5) Show which bone is currently selected in RP window...
    6) Is it possible to make Send Selected Items... as an Action so that I can place it on a toolbar rather than having to always open BJ RP pane (... to save space in a pane group ) ?  (screenshot 2)

    Thank you again !

    0) No I would call that a bug. If something is different than in Daz Studio it should be sent. Will fix.

    1) I'm unable to reproduce this. I'll keep trying (or send me some reproduction steps if you're doing anything special).

    2) Absolutely this should be saved like all the other options. Will fix.

    3) Hmmmm... I'll think about it. If so then I'll probably put both options into the config UI only. It's kind of the odd one out for the bottom checkboxes anyway, having nothing to do with posing.

    4) Is this related to 0)

    5) Selected bone is highlighted, right? Not sure what you mean here.

    6) Would have to look into it. But you don't have to give it that much space? Just resize it to be minimal. Or don't dock it, let it float around somewhere in a corner. Also an option.

Possibly somewhere down the line. If it's just a timeline with keyframes we might as well just pose in app, send to keyframe 1 in Daz Studio, pose again, send to keyframe 30. That alone wouldn't warrant a timeline. If anything it would be part of a larger animation effort. At the moment that's a distant dream at most.

Not really ~ I mean a case: I give the figure a couple of drags but I want to start it over from its A-Pose, now I have to repeat undo for times. If there's a button that can Zero Pose !, it'll be much faster.

    5) Selected bone is highlighted, right? Not sure what you mean here.

Show what the highlighted Bone is, pls check the sample screen as attached.

Oh I see, I just have to drag like a madman :)

Yeah this shouldn't happen. I'll look into it. On the other hand (ha), what is it you're trying to accomplish here? Obviously the finger cannot go to where you are dragging it. The IK is begging you to stop and at some point it just goes "oh whatever let's break an arm then".

Also just an observation (this doesn't change the result though). You don't really need to pin all the way to the shoulder, just the forearm is enough.

Zero pose in general, yes that would be a good feature to have. Probably in a right click context menu along with symmetry stuff later.

A label showing the bone name is what I had at first actually. In the original video you can see it top center. It was mostly for debugging though, figured nobody needs to see this. I guess I was wrong! May I ask why do you want to see the bone name?

Edit: spoke too soon. The same pin breakage does not happen on G9 actually. So this might be something specific to earier figures. Needs investigating. Thanks for the video!

Yea, at the first place I just pinned the forearm before dragging the finger. Actually I wanted to make a unique hand + finger poses for a dancing figure, then I accidentally gave it kinda yank then found the forearm bent lol.  Pls further check the issue anyway. Thanks !

Zero pose in general, yes that would be a good feature to have. Probably in a right click context menu along with symmetry stuff later.

    That'll be great !

At the beginning, I just wanted to make sure if I selected the correct Bone before dragging... because when I do these in DS with IK, with different Bones pinned,  dragging different Bones gives me different result. For example: in DS, pin both feet of G8F firstly, dragging down Abdomen Upper and Abdomen Lower brings me different posing results. But when I did the test in RP window, it brought me pretty different results (with some balance of course which is nice I think), so I thought maybe I selected the wrong Bones... then I realized I didn't know what the selected Bone was.... In DS, the selected bone is shown in Scene pane and I'm very used to the way of getting it by a glimpse... while in RP window I was lost even though I know well about the figure's skeleton haha ~

Sorry for having told you a long story... English is not my native language lol ~

BJ Rapid Pose 0.6.1 - Weekly Build

Various bug fixes and improvements. A fix for a reported bug on G8 or lower where yanking a finger with a pinned forearm resulted in the forearm deforming at some point.

Improved as a result of further testing of the above: the figure is no longer vibrating/jerking when a descendant of a pinned ancestor is moved. The hand with the pinned forearm should no longer affect upper arm or above when moved at all.

A pinned part now does not allow containing details to move on their own. Specifically a pinned hand does not allow metacarpals to move as they are visually contained in the pin.

Fixed an issue where moving bones of the scaled down Dog 8 to hand size would mostly just move the whole dog. IK is now more scale independent.

    Some other stuff.
