Why hello, it's me again. Since the Patreon is still free I'm not breaking any forum rules. It's all a benefit to Daz Studio anyway so I doubt it ruffles any feathers
Find video on Patreon or YouTube.
If this doesn't get you interested then I don't know what will!

Happy to answer questions.
I have edited the post to comply with forum rules, as I have now launched paid tiers.

omg this is so cool!?
The fact that the hands and feet remain perfectly in contact with the surface after being locked in place, regardless of any movement of other parts of the body, is incredibly cool. No current plugins can achieve this.
Right, it's pretty good as it is now. You can totally break the locks if you yank it around like madman. At some point they just can't be maintained anymore. Especially multiple cross-figure locks, which is crazy enough that this works at all. Then it's a question of do you hard stop the user or let it happen. It feels horrible to be stopped so let the user rip if they want. With great power comes great responsibility kind of thing.
Wild.
That looks awesome !! It seems it even works better than Cascadeur !
I wonder if the IKs performance is significantly enhanced by the plugin or if there's any other specific techniques given by the plugin ?
Edit: Will there be both plugin versions for DS 4 and DS 6 ?
Better than Cascadeur? Really you think so
The plugin is just for sending figures and receiving back the poses.. the IK happens in a separate application to escape any Daz Studio slowness.
Absolutely I did think so
at least comparing to the cases where I manipulated Daz figures in Cascadeur !
I can't wait to give it a try though I 1stly prefer to the version for DS 4... don't tell me it's only for DS6 lol ~
So how can we get this? Do we have to join your patreon to get it or something?
Now it makes sense how smooth it was. :)
Wow, just wow. Want.
wow, so a few questions:
1) is it possible to import props (so if making a pose(s) to fit a chair, bed, car, there is not too much tweaking necessary when bringing it back into Daz)
2) is this only for still poses or will you be able to export an animation range
3) any chance it will work with geografts
It's in development, so yes if you want to see it developed further and get early access to it, Patreon is the best bet. As mentioned it only has a free tier for now. I gotta work out the details, access to various monthly/weekly builds, possibly access to my smaller plugins that may be in development, or new versions of existing plugins. Then at some point, or even multiple points for various milestones/versions (typically 1.0, 2.0 etc), it could be released in the Daz store as well.
This model will ideally allow me to develop the bigger stuff (BJ Cycles and BJ Wicked also fall in that category) that is hard to do in a "finish then sell" way. Not to mention getting input of backers to help shape it. And hopefully just a cool community of interested people.
I made a post the other day about future plans: https://www.patreon.com/bluejaunte/posts/bj-rapid-pose-164752188
1) Not yet, probably my first priority.
2) Right now you could import the pose to various keyframes in Daz Studio, just like any pose. In app there is no animation yet but it would be a great fit in the future.
3) Not yet but sure, I'd put that in 1). I mean, let's just be honest? Pron creators are gonna have a field day with this right. Don't even wanna think about how much time they spend trying to get one thing to be on or... in... some other thing :)
It looks like it would be very useful. I joined your Patron group but I still don't see anyway to download it.
I have to come up with paid tiers first. Sure hope you didn't expect me to give this away for free...
Gave me a chuckle (almost certainly too true though
)
'Professional Subscription' Level probably required?
I would definitely be interested in this, but only if it works in DS 4, it's not worth me installing DS 6 just for one plugin.
+1. I too have no interest in DS6 as I run 30xx and 40xx GPUs.
DS4 and DS6. DS4 was used in video above.
Thanks, that's good news.
I am glad you are developing with IK. I am using IK in Unity most of the time.
I have edited the post to comply with forum rules, as I have now launched paid tiers. Is it ok to say that it has launched per se though? Maybe?
Looks very Cascadeur influenced, I love that app. Having a daz-integrated workflow with multi figure pose/ik/balancing controls would be really slick. :)
You're on a roll lately, and honestly I reckon Daz should employ you!
Great stuff, although crazy as it sounds, one of the single most important things Daz Studio is missing regards posing, is that 'Auto-Balance' system that Poser uses. If you switch-on Auto-Balance in Poser and drag a limb, the whole figure reposes itself in order to add a natural looking balance. It's done that for decades now, and IMHO it's pretty damn important for natural looking poses, yet Daz never did implement it in Daz Studio.
Your tool looks pretty amazing to start with, so I can only imagine how good it would work with that 'centre of balance' thing going on as well.
Why, you wouldn't per chance be talking about this? ;) edit: ah crap now I posted a link again. This is gonna be annoying. Check for a post about Balance Assist on Patreon ok.
Hadn't seen that, lol, but what would be extra neat is to see the auto-balance in a video, or better still, auto-balance integrated with your new tool.
Either way, it's a relief to know there's developers out there who see the importance of this stuff. Posing and animation is something that has been neglected for far too long, and the ironic thing is that due to AI, both Daz Studio and Poser really need to up their game in that respect, now that both of these software packages have essentially become 'roughing-out' tools for driving AI stills and animation.
That (to me) is mainly what both of these programs are going to be seen as going forward, so I reckon posing, animation (and especially procedurally driven animation systems like walk designers etc), are going to become more and more important. I could be wrong of course, but I reckon the easier Daz Studio and Poser make generating a completely customisable, procedurally generated walk cycle for example (one that can also be outputted in an AI-friendly control net manner), the more 'in-demand' the software will be.
A quick screenshot of a couple of poses made from scratch with Rapid Pose. Really enjoying it so far, thank you!
Cool! Thanks for subbing
Wow, that's great ! I'm playing with it now. BTW, can we report the issues / bugs / feature suggestions in here or on patreon ?
For instance, that little plane of Z axis cannot be highlighted sometimes when hovering mouse onto it... though it still can be dragged. (in screenshot)
Thanks !
Yeah definitely not here, we'd be asking Daz to host our debugging session. Ideally you'd get on the Discord probably. Message me there or drop it into bj-rapid-pose channel that you got automatic access to when you subscribed. Thanks!
