The loading lag is a joke and makes it feel like we have gone back to dial up speeds, I am still hoping to wake up and find this is a late April Fools Joke they finally got finished, but unfortunately it would be a level of planning and implimentation that they haven't been capable of in quite a few years.
Unfortunately program specific info disapeared :
no way to select D Force only, or to try to find scripts and plugins Daz6 compatible
...I remember several years ago when Daz decided to roll out a new store update (that ws still a WIP) during the final week of the then Fall Platinum Club sale. It was disaster as nothing worked the way it should have. I ended up dumping a sizable cart as when I tried to submit the order, nothing would happen. This lasted until the sale was over, and the event was not extended to compensate.
We let them know last night about it being much slower. We were having a lot of issues as well. The loading speed has probably been the #1 complaint at this point.
(Chrome, Android tablet) Main sales page now loads fast, so progress being made. The carousel, on the other hand is very unresponsive - I have to tap repeatedly on an arrow or the banner before it starts to take me to the next banner or the advertised page. The daily sales page is still noticeably slow as well.
Right now, to me. most annoying problems are the wishlist issue, not being able to search product library, and product library still not having the clickable page numbers in some browsers.
What would be really nice is an option to hide fbx and glb products on a permanent basis while logged in. I have absolutely no interest in these items and they are unnecessarily clogging up my pages.
Clicking the preferred file format only works on the front page.
Thanks Frank! It does seem a good bit faster on FF mobile this morning
I'm also seeing that my WL doesn't show all my items if I have the filter set to DUF only. I think it is caused by Daz not having everything tagged as DUF.
it also doesn't filter by FBX or obj as I just discovered
One gets a huge number of irrelevant results
was looking for some older products in FBX format I know I have seen before and cannot find them
We did report it yesterday.
...OK saw something I really like, being able to select a specific page in the store or Featured Artists sale . .Makes it easier when using the filter by price to find items in one's budget, or skipping past all the G9 content when sorting by New Arrivals.
OOPS! I just found the filter. It still doesn't show all the options, though.
(Edited by mod to fix quote)
Rather amazing, in the product categories there is no animals category, landscape would be nice to. E.g. I'm searching "bat" and having to go through almost 3 pages of extraneous items.
There's an "Animals" category, it's under "characters".
"Landscape" doesn't exist and could be useful, closest we have is "Exterior" under "Environments".
1. I still am limited to 40 items in Product Library with no page numbers to navigate with.
2. Daily sales page is again super slow to load, after a couple days being quick, as is right hand dropdown Account option.
Both issues on Android tablet with Chrome.
On the positive side, the ability to sort the product library by purchase date now works without the need to switch to List mode first. Unfortunately, the name sort in ascending mode has some bugs, as the first 14 entires in my library seem to be completely random and not at all in alphebetical order for unknown reasons (First in my list is Beuatiful Skin Iray for Genesis 2 Males), after which there are another 20 or so items that seem to have been sorted early due to things like having the name in quotes (both single and double,) and in one case starting with a period. After that sort goes numeric, but it's a sort order based on the the first numeral of a number only, so a product that begins with a single 6 only comes after all of those that begin with 50 or 54, etc.... and, of course, it's not until a dozen pages later that the first item beginning with an A actually shows up.
FInally, there are still a lot of weird issues with the sort by artist, as I have discovered that items that were sold by artists who are still active and selling in the store do not come up under that artist's name search if that item itself is no longer in the store. That's especially a big problem for vendors like Clacydarch, who split about half of their catalog and moved it over to Renderosity after selling those here for several years, or vendors who regularly retire products like Stonemason. Most perplexing of all is the case of BIlly-T, who only shows up under artist search for 4 items... yet when I go to front of the store and unclick the "hide items shown", his store displays 17 Billy-T items that I own.
Why removed "software compatibility" filter? It was extremely helpful to filter products aimed for e.g. Carrara.
as a Carrara user, I often fear they will eventually just remove those products and Carrara too
acts like this are not reassuring at all
I occasionally buy a Bryce product or 2 as well because of this fear, because I occasionally render a Bryce scene and they too are endangered
NOPE, not pleased with how this is going down for me. The store takes too long to load now, then I have to refresh the store because, for whatever reason the newer products are not showing when I first come to the store, I've had to do that for ever but now with all this loading crap, first, I guess, the categories and then the AI it's like a mini nightmare. Until this is resolved I'm going to beg off shopping unless I really need something. Sorry DAZ, if this is the new way with no way to streamline all this pre loading crap I'm out.
Wait does the store have AI now?!
Yea, Victoria AI
OK, I give up. Where is she hiding?!
Lower right corner of most pages. Circle icon with stylized Victoria head (Daz logo) over a speech bubble. Do you see it?
Is it possible to have a faster "improved" store?
Victoria AI in the website has been there for many months though, you guys may have had it blocked with adblocker but I think I've used it for at least 6 months now. So I don't think Victoria AI has anything to do with the slowness or site upgrade issues. (It is blocked by default with Brave browser, in case you don't want it.) But its one of the few cases of AI that I actually like.
Another thing that is not working correctly (or not pervasively at least) is WISHLIST FLAGS. The little yellow filled heart at top right OR yellow strip at bottom saying "in wishlist" on product thumbnails SHOULD BE SHOWING (or need to be!!) on every page, carousel and pop-up that shows product thumbnails. Right now, for example, the "you may also be interested in the following products" carousel DOES NOT show either of the wishlist flags on the product thumbs that show there. VERY ANNOYING- having to check a bunch of products I'm interested in one by one to confirm that it's indeed in my wishlist (or not). Every instance of a product thumbnail should always have a wishlist flag showing the current WL status, sitewide, no exceptions. I already posted earlier in this thread about how individual items in a bundle show the flags on their own pages and in the store listing pages but when you are looking at the BUNDLE product page, the thumbnails for the included items do not show WL flags- making it necessary to check each product separately to confirm or deny that you've wishlisted it. WISHLISTING and the associated flags on thumbnails are tools for making the shopping easier despite thousands of products, but the value of the feature suffers if the @#%$$ flags are not consistently displayed on product thumbnails EVERYWHERE. /end rant
Also not helpful while shopping: when looking at store pages or search results pages etc, I most often want to see WISHLISTED ITEMS and ALSO see my own purchases in that deal bin, category or search returns or whatever. Of course, if you bought it it is no longer on your WL, so those items will not show even if you UNCHECK "Hide Owned" if you ALSO have "Whishlist Only" checked. The "Hide Owned" toggle need to operate yes or no seperately without consideration for wishlist status/check box. This used to be the case for how those 2 filters worked before, as I used them that way for as long as I can recall. Now, it seems the only way I can see my WL items AND my OWNED is to uncheck the WL filter and uncheck the OWNED filter so my owned will show, the WL items will show themselves by their flags but I have to pick through hundreds or thousands of unwanted items to see/find my owned & WL items. No convenient at all, again, sucking the value out of the WL feature and the filters generally. For me this is a far worse issue than the slow page and module loading that has been a focus of many complaints since the current round of site "upgrades" because it makes shopping so much more tedious and time consuming. The difference between reviewing 62 pages of products (owned, not owned but unwanted, and WL'd) and 22 pages of only owned & WL'd is a lot of tedium and time just to shop.
My tries at using Victoria AI have yielded unsurprisingly rather poor results. But since Daz is a store, and AI can be trained by using iamges and tags, if this store AI could be taught to recognize the store's own products in promo images sitewide, that would potentially be a killer useful feature. Example: To be able to go to a page or promo pop-up, and ask the AI: "what product are those pants from?" and have it tell you the product and provide the link to the product's page.
