I have NEVER had to reactivate the 'Pro' bundle of plugins with DS4 over a LOT of years. I had to reactivate them once when I first used DS6 on the day of DS6 General Release - first time I used DS6 - and never since until yesterday when it suddenly threw up a refusal to autofit if i didn't register it despite having done many earlier in the day.

This had better NOT be a new regular thing. It was hugely disruptive happening in the middle of doing something long and complicated, given my memoery issues both long term and moment to moment from a side effect from one of the meds i need to take for my disability.  Making me break my tenuous train of thought, then have to shut down and re-start DS6 after re-registering was a REAL pain ane set me right back. If this is going to be a regular thing, then that's it - I'll give up DS again, despite the amount I've spent on content both previosuly and almost daily lately. If this kind of disruption becomes regular, not jsut soem one-off freak accident, then I'm off. Sheesh. And you can tell whoever makes these decisions at DAZ that, along with telling them to have a look at my account and how much i've been spending since 2004.

I got confused, as Lena said with the Premier plugins. I don't know why the Pro plugins behaves that way, it happened to me earlier today.

 If so, I did not mention Premier, which i have never been a member of, and won't ever be. For a start with i won't let my DSs access the internet. And for a second I won't pay for content I can't keep locally and might lose access to - one reason I was vociferously opposed to DAZ Connect in teh forums back when it ws first intorduced and refused to buy anythign that required it. It was the 'Pro( FREE) Bundle' that suddenly de-registered and had to eb re-registered, completyl screwing up what I ahd been working on for hours. Thougth why having a separate license for that is still a thing, given how long ago it became free and just part of DS for everyone I can't imagine.

In that case, I must go and get my blood pressure back down. I'm pretty sure I'm due a heart attack soon anyway.

Not just me, then. Not quite sure if that makes me feel better or worse.

I haven't gone on to the betas because I didn't want new, unexpected problems. Why would DS  6 suddenly start doing this? Is it going to recur? If so, how often? If it becomes frequent it will make DS6 unusable for me, it was so disruptive. I've been feeling nervous trying to pick up what I'm doing again.

They could see what I'm doing with it, and poke around my DS content library and see what products I've installed from where, none of  which is any of their business. I can also foresee a circumstance which might stop me buying anything else from the DAZ store.

I grant that I'm trusting that DIM isn't doing anything beyond its remit.

I don't suppose this wil help, but DS is purely pull - it gets data from Daz; other than the anonymised usage data if you opt in to the improvement programme it doesn't send data.

You're right, it won't. I.m not up to intercepting and monitoring the communication between DS and DAZ, and I'm less trusting than I used to be. And just because DAZ don't do something now doesn't mean they couldn't change their minds and do something more. As I see no reason at all why DS should need to talk to DAZ about anything other than the initial activation, there's no reason to leave an open door they might decsde to wander in through.

Set this to medium filtering and display notifications and you will be notified of anything wanting to connect to the internet. And without you saying "allow" it won't. Get ready to be shocked though at all the processes that want to do that.

Daz Studio set to offline does indeed not do so.

Thanks, but my existing security software would tell me if DS tried to phone home and block it. I meant that, especially in my state of brain fog and permanent exhaustion (disabaility, and the side effects of medications) I'm not up to capturing packets and deciphering exactly what the communications were if it did start taking and was allowed to. Easiest just to leave all connection disabled, with a warning if it suddenly tried to start communicting. As I say, I see no reason for DS having to talk to DAZ, or for DAZ to talk to DS come to that. I am trusting DIM, although with misgivings when i think about it.

Can't comment on DS6; can put that DS4 does not attempt to connect while in OL mode.

What web browser do you use that gives you similar confidence?

Sorry? I'm not aware of any mechanism by which DAZ could use either of my usual web browsers to poke around in my DS library, upload my logs or renders etc. Via cookies they might see what i've bought from the DAZ store wit the browsers, but they can see that just looking in my DAZ account at their end, and I have no problem with them knowing that. From a browser find out what else I've installed into the library, from where (given what it may be), or grab logs and renders, not so much.

It needs reactivating every 14 days, if I remember correctly.

It seems DS needs a Premier validation on weekly basis on my side ~

At least for me on an Apple device, I need to reauthorize  every two weeks plus after system updates which change my machine's configuration.
