I have one ask for @BeautyWorks, please do an update to https://www.daz3d.com/bw-timeless-denim-outfit-for-genesis-9 and its texture set, https://www.daz3d.com/bw-timeless-denim-outfit-textures-add-on and add the buttonholes to the jacket. I do love the jeans.

If I can do it in Marvelous Designer and I can't understand why a professional PA can't do it.

That was my only quibble with this Cate 9 release.

I like the characters, the hair, the set, and the clothes besides my quibble. My goodness, normal streetwear clothing suitable for a woman to actually wear in public! And what I can see in Target in Denver. Thank you for that.

Maybe it's got hidden magnets ;)

Does anyone know where to get this hair & makeup from for Cate 9?

    Try Camilla Hair? https://www.daz3d.com/camila-hair-for-genesis-3-and-8-females

Personally, it makes me very, very weary of purchasing core figures. I don't want to get a random cease&desist or worse, lawsuit, because I rendered a figure that looks too close to someone. I usually avoid PA specializing in lookalikes, but it's becoming a mindfield with a few other PAs having some lookalikes characters too.

I know that there's always inspiration and kind-of-sort-of resemblance, and that's fine, because people look similar, but the closer and more recognizable it gets, the more wary I become. (And I don't even render any NSFW or "questionable" content.)

You don't mix faces to make them look less "stock" by default?

I do, and I often change skins, but unless I go extreme (and I don't want to), it's often easy to see the underlying features if they are distinct enough. Besides, it's safer to mix the characters that aren't very close lookalikes to begin with.

it all depends on your situation. The products are 55% off to start, then the 20%. If you have 8 tokens, thats another 45%, so at least for DO items, a pretty decent discount. If you have your $10 coupon for Premiere members...your're cooking. so the Cate9 bundle , for instance, is $8 US

No. The $10 coupon doesn't make Cate cheaper. It makes everything you buy the entire month $10 cheaper. By your logic, Cate9 is free since you can use the character bundle freebie on it.

And compared to former sales they sales since MM (and even during MM) have been subpar.

it makes the cart $10 cheaper yes, as long as its DO products.  And also yes, if premier and you still have your free bundle coupon, you can get it free, but I was referring to using what you migh have available nw to save money on todays products. without the coupons, and the 10 as a bonus... or the free stuff. i only had 4 tokens so I would end up with 72% off, but its higher pushin 80 or so if you have 8 tokens on DO products.  I still had my free bundle coupon so used it on Cate 9. Free.  bought nothing else.

Same height as Gillian Anderson and even the same beauty mark under her left nostril.

'Also, the red circle around the 9 on the splash page is often how the x in the x-files logo was circled.

the Cate 9 logo is pretty much the exact same as the original X-Files logo. similar font too

i don't think Cate 9 is that close to Gillian Anderson, I think it's different enough but yet carrying the same "vibe" as her without looking too close to her.  You can mix in other heads from other characters, like do 50% Cate 9 with 20, 10, 20 of 3 others  or 50% victoria 9 etc.

Cate 9 has graced us with her presence. While described as elegant and commanding, I get more of the "Trust No One" and "The Truth is Out There" vibe from her.

    Gillian Anderson - The X-Files?

    All day long smiley

The last promo on the character page is almost 'photo-quality'

Really gorgeous character (from the promos), one of the best DO models in quite some time... Great to see a mature model too. Skin detail looks great and - combined with the sculpt - looks very fitting with the blurb (for once!)

Fantastic looking piece of work smiley

Cate 9 is a pleasant surprise!

I've been cursing to myself just lately since Minerva 9 never goes on substantial enough sale for me to afford her.  I'm specifically after some quality, mature female textures, so this is a pleasant surprise and I'll definitely be adding Cate 9 to the wishlist.

As with Minerva 9, I'll just have to make an exception and 'suck it and see' when it comes to the bits I cannot see in the promos!

I got Minerva when her (discontinued) Christmas bundle was free/super discounted, before existing core bundles were ruined redone in the character/add-on format. Her character bundle still shows up in the Premier Free selection once in a while, though, in case you or others want to keep an eye out.

I also have Snow Queen and CC Catalina, both with elder alternates. Already owning several G9 fem characters around Cate's age is the main reason I am skipping her, along with me focusing more on fantasy/SF art.

I love that it looks like she's got a C-section scar and stretch marks, and a belly button that looks like they often do postpartum. :)

I'm going to get her because I fear she won't last, it's so clear who she looks like. But can we get a Muldur to go with Scully. I have been noticing the lookalikes proliferating. I morph them at least a bit so they look a bit different/

I doub tit will go anywhere. There are other characters still up that definitely look like celebs. These are just the ones I recognise from a glance:

Aro 9 is the spitting image of Jason Momoa

Thomas 9 looks way too much like Alan Ritchson

Wagner 9 Do I even need to say who...

It's been a trend in the male models for a while now, likely with more I don't recognise...

Thanks for the heads up, it's much appreciated.  Could just be me and bad timing I suppose, but I only ever see her with 30% discount, and for some reason she's $10 more than the other Daz Originals to start with.  Surprising really since she was one of the first as far as I can tell.

I do like her face though, and I gotta have that texture!

Yes, she was the 5th (& her counterpart Nikolai aka Santa the 6th) per @doubledeviant's list of the G9 core figures. She does have a nice face. I really intend to use her more, now I have a new computer.

But back to Cate. I'd love to see pictures here with her outfits, since I might be interested in some of them down the road.

Major deal breaker for me and I hope they reverse the decision. I'm using the models for videogame characters. I can buy an interactive license for the last male, but I'm pretty sure I legally can't just sell Jason Momoa's likeness.

I never understand these kinds of posts when I see them. I mean no offense, but If you're making a video game, you're saying you're buying daz characters and using them out the box as they are without any changes for your original characters? Granted I've seen many VN makers do literally that, but I personally don't see this "likeness" issue as an issue if you're going to actually dial in maybe 25-50% of Jason, mix him with 15% John Cena, 30% Henry cavil, plus whatever other characters you have..... Especially since you can mix in women too with G9.....and you can swap out any skin material as well....the brows... The eye color.... Facial hair... Add scars etc Daz gives you almost unlimited possibilities and yet somehow someone making a video game is worried they can't use their character out the box to sell? Just odd to me is all. Nearly all media has used inspiration of real people, and today in video games they go as far as scanning actors (with consent and payment yes I understand). Famous characters like Cloud Strife of final fantasy was based off the singer Gackt, Rock Lee of Naruto was based off Bruce Lee, Johnny cage was jeanne Claude, Lady Dimitrescu was Elizabeth Báthory's morticia from Adam's family, the list goes on. Either way have a good one, and dial spin xD

This is what I said. Who uses the figures as is except in a one off image (like for a "fun" forum contest)? If you're selling the images, I would hope you're taking a few minutes to customize the faces at a minimum.

I'm not going to bother responding and explaining again since you've made an assumption that I'm making a video game (I am not) and then based the whole response on it, ignoring further explanation I've already given (which destroys the other assumption, that I do not mix my characters), so I'll leave you to your highground.

    Indeed I do!

So, I officially apologize (and leave my previous post unedited so that there's a track).
