Yeah sorry about that, it could be in there and point out the keyboard shortcut. Also in the tooltip when you mouse over a button I guess. As for how you could know, obviously reading the manual or even looking at the promos. But I get it, we don't have time for that stuff :)

But you ARE happy what you asked for is there, right? It's a major functionality actually, I use it like that all the time. It's been mentioned by barbult as well who loves that part dearly.

If I read the manual it was when I bought it and probably even before I looked at it in Daz or considered how I would use it.

But, yeah, it's great that it's already there. I've only recently added Shelf to my workflow and now with this knowledge, I'm sure I'll be using it consistently. (And later I'll be the one going "well, of course, you just ctrl-click." to someone.) I'm sure at some point I'll want to do a lot of deleting. Is there a rubber band select with remove option? :) (I would just try it but a render is running.)

No but there's a clear tab on the tab right-click, or remove tab.

Bluejaunte, I can't even begin to tell you how useful this has been ever since I got it. It's done away with so many pain points in Studio it should come with an anesthesiologist's prescription. Seriously, great job, this is an amazing addition to the workflow.

I've gotten so used to it that about the only complaint I have is that I've made far too many shelves to browse them at a glance. If you ever consider making an add-on that allows for multiple rows of shelves, coloring individual tabs, having folders use the same icons that some PAs personalize them with in the product library, or having the ability to populate multiple tabs with different shelves (or any other way you can envision to further speed up browsing)... Well, let's just say that it would not be a day-one purchase, but an attosecond one.

Thank you for this. It's proven invaluable.

Thanks! Glad it helps. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by multiple rows of shelves. Colored tabs sounds like a good idea. Using the PA folder icons would be confusing because not all have them, and there's a better way. Instead of adding folders just add an item inside the folder and then Ctrl-click on it to get back to the folder. With this I don't even use folders anymore to be honest.

Ctrl click is the way to go, I agree. It not only gives immediate access to your selected folder item with a recognizable icon. But you can easily open the folder to access the whole folder with Ctrl click on that single asset in your shelf.

I've been using Shelf and it's been working well, very useful. But do have a request which would really make things run smoother. Is it possible to have the tabs within Shelf able to have a keyboard shortcut so that being e.g. in your content library and wanting to access items in a particular Shelf tab you can just press the shortcut key and voilà, you're in the tab!

Hmm... interesting idea. Not sure it's doable because in order for an action to be able register a shortcut I need to do this before the plugin loads. But tabs can exist or not, so at least that is not a thing I could set at the time of you creating a tab. I guess I would have to set a few shortcuts beforehand, say tab 1 to 10, but what if you had more... and what if you don't have that many tabs? I'm not sure I can bind something to an action that doesn't exist. Bit of a chicken and egg problem. Tabs can also be reordered, so what happens then? Do shortcuts just correspond to the position, or would a user expect a custom shortcut for a tab remains the same if they reorder it?

Sounds like a bit of a headache smiley

Do you know when we will see the DS2026 version?

The SDK isn't finalised yet, as far as I know.

No clue whatsoever. Could be a long time honestly until they accept submissions simply because the SDK and DS 2026 are still evolving. Once they do accept submissions I foresee a pretty nasty queue as well because QA suddenly has to get through a tidal wave of plugins.

Thanks to both of you for the update.

Oh, well. It's just that the now not working so well "VisualMenus" by Bitwelder had that capability and it is so nice to use.
