The red circles with the number of punches are turned into Green gift boxes.
I'm not sure anyone has tested, as mostly things are either 99-cents or over $1, not $1 exactly. It all comes down to whether you're willing to chance that they actually mean it the way they wrote it, or if they meant " $1 or over" but just phrased it poorly... which would not be the first time.
If you're dedicated to keeping your punches, I'd play it safe.
Ron Knights, you get a punch if you purchased something over $1 the previous day. So to have a punch today, you'd have to have purchased something yesterday. Punches only last 3 days each, so if you want to keep 3 punches going, you have to purchase daily.
You can find your amount of punches on the daily sales page accessible through a rotating banner on the main store page (not adding a link as I think it changes daily), and it will look like that with three punches (the green gift box is a punch each):
Edit: I see Wolfwood beat me to it :)
I think it's because one of today's deals is exactly $1.
Thanks for the tip. I actually have a punch today.
I may have had a few and lost them just because it's one more place to look for info.
They should have one page with all the coupon codes, punches etc.
Go to the day's promo page (usually the main slider) and scroll down to the section on punches.
On the daily sale page, this section shows the checkmarks on the gift boxes, indicating punches.
Yeah, I figured... but I'm pretty sure that's the first time this sale? I haven't seen where anyone ran an experiment and reported back, if it wasn't.
I've maintained 3 punches for the last 10 days or so, and I'll have 3 tomorrow still. I haven't needed them for anything. I got a $1 bundle and threw in a 99 cent QG item. My spending yesterday doesn't seem to have influenced the quality of my advent calendar freebie, but I like it all the same - Another desirable item from my WL. It's good!
How does one redeem the punches?
Is it automatic or do you need a "coupon code," like many other sale offerings?!
I'm at the point where I don't have any more money to speak of.
I might get something with the combinaton of my one punch and some luck.
Next month (next year,) I'll set myself up with a large amount on a gift certificate. That way the money will be reserved for future sales oppotunities.
It is automatic. No coupon code needed.
Oh Great. Thanks

I think today is a good day to buy a stable; today's promotions are too boring for me.
+100!
I'm happy. I got the Classic Toon Duck (looks like Howard the Duck from Marvel Comics). The regular price was around $20.
I got it for a little over $3!

While there don’t seem to be as many bundles in today’s G8 sale (coupon: DANCER ), as the massive bundles available in yesterday’s sale, the FG Bistro Bundle seems useful to me—lots of food props and the bistro environment includes both the interior and exterior environments. (Also an outfit and some poses for G8F.)
The G9 sale is weighted heavily to poses—if that’s your thing. It has some bundles, but none that stood out for me.
From the artist sales, with my various discounts (punches, using up tokens, member coupon) I was able to pick up a horse bundle, and a couple other small items, quite discounted. Daz Horse 3 Mega Bundle or the cheaper subset Daz Horse 3 Rustic Bundle.
I think my run with the advent calendar has come to an end - I keep adding more stuff, but it keeps going back to random things. Not Daz's fault, I just keep buying stuff! Had a good run this year, and today's sale is not too useful to me but I've managed to get a few things. Not sure if I'll bother to keep adding more WL items, but at least I stocked up on a whole bunch of stuff!
I tested
In case 'For a buck' is repeated, $1 without anything extra kept my punches going on 3
what's the deal with the advent calendar? On days where it says "FREE" or a non-free item if I click the free item it's never free. So I have not been getting anything out of that calendar. I click free and it goes to a page where it's like $10. Forget that. I've just been taking the freebies instead. This is misleading if there is not some fine print somewhere that says that "FREE" items are not actually free.
You need to open the cart to see the actual price.
And the reason for the above is that those items are free offer specifically for you. For everyone else, unless they also have it in their calendar, the price is as you see it on the product page.
if they're specifically for me, DAZ for sure missed the mark by a long shot.
Last night I didn't find anything I wanted in the two categories where they offered items for around $1 or $2.
I forget the categories. They were Genesis 2 and Genesis 3.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I had to go to the last possible step in the payment process before it reduced it to zero. Welp, I guess I missed out on most of them then. It was not clear that this was the case.
Just a note, the reason it was confusing is because it is inconsistent. The freebie every day does not even require you to put it in the cart, it's already reduced to Free just on the page. Then you add to cart and checkout and it never shows as full price even once. That is inconsistent behaviour with how the advent items work.
Yep. I had to quickly learn the hard way that the only page we can take at face value is the final checkout page. Discounts/freebie-status can be missing on any other view on the store. I have taken to being quick to add items to cart just to be able to find out what they’ll actually cost. I wish the cart wasn’t so slow at removing individual items.
And when coupons or “include an X in cart to get discount on Y” are in play, it’s important to test the cart with, and without, the coupon/paired-items. Sometimes a discount source can result in a more expensive item.
well, they aren't specifically for me either, so don't blame me
Thank you
I'm 'eggzausted' so much that I can't even spell or talk right.
My props drive is so packed now that it's leaking onto the drive below it.
I have this weird feeling that the sale has essentially been going on and on since late August...
Thank you vendors and Daz3d for the unbelievable discounts and the variety of fun, clever sales techniques, features, & gimmicks!
Happy Holidays!!!
