Wow. Looked through the G3 bundles, thinking that would be an easy way to secure a punch.
Not a single one of them were $1 worth of useful to me.
And QG is a hair-a-palooza, which is great for a lot of folk, but I really have way more than I need already. Looks like pickings will be slim for me there this week, too.
Ah well. Maybe the 25th or 26th will offer a good sale.
It's nothing new: they are regularly freebies who are textures packs (once or twice per sales including freebies).
The biggest downside: once a product is not in the store anymore, you don't have an easy access to the base product, because the product's page is unavailable and the SKU is not visible on our Daz3D.com product library, so if the textures pack is for a product you like, it's best to wishlist it.
Most of the QG, except for $1.99, show full price. Also many are DOs, which I'm sure will mess with some people's WL pools for Advent calendar.
I'm also not a fan of textures for the freebie, but just going to quietly skip it, since I have no interest in the base dress. Am getting the Nice item. Granted, it's old but great for late 20th century scenes, and some have utility for even modern renders.
I see, when I saw the bannger images (Banners? rectangles? Whatever the sale graphics are called) it didn't say "from a selection of G8 items" it just said "Genesis 8 Get up to 5 for 2.99 each".
Most of what bugs me about Daz sales is this - the vagueness.
Yes, there is a link button to "browse" the items, but I took this to be a shortcut to the store with a filter for G8, not a special page that has a selection of G8 items reduced in price... because that's not what the sale graphic says.
Please don't take any of the above directed personally, I am just explaining my logic and how I read these sales descriptions. To me if there's no fine print or qualifying text that says some items are excluded, then "G8: Get up to 5 for 2.99 each" means exactly that. 5 of any G8 items.
A few days ago, I decided that to do a "crowd" with older gen figures because I couldn't easily hide lowpi figures (I love the lowpi products) in a hazy depth of field. I picked G3 as I had slightly more of it lying around. (I'm new and only buy G9 normally). Today's sale and yesterday's is eating the gift card from the other day.
That is tough! Did you at least get the nice list or sth at the advent calendar?
So exactly $1 is enough to get a punch, don't want to lose my punch card streak. I mean Daz wording is "over $1" ?
...I've pretty much thrown in the towel on the Advent Calendar. I've spent wasted far too much time sifting through the entire store to put what I could find that interests me on the wishlist and it's just being ignored I've been maintaining my three punches so wondering where are all those "better selections" that were promised I am supposed to see. Most what I am getting lately I nether care for or can use.
Today's Calendar items are total duds again. The freebie is a texture set for G9 clothing I likely won't purchase (as I don't use G9) and the other, while not quite "skimp", is something so ridiculous that none of my characters would ever be caught dead wearing it.
Ah well, more lumps of "calendar coal", and on my birthday yet (I remember when Content Paradise (RIP) used to give you a gift coupon worth something like 4 or 5$).
At least the HoliDaz Deal for today makes up for it and after Quickgrab reset there was one of the wishlisted items on it for 99¢ that I was hoping to see on the calendar.
I lucked out finding some older hairs and other things for G8/G8.1 that I had missed/ignored when they came out and wishlisted them. Now they are popping up on the calendar generally on the purchase side. The free side is too often a wash for me. Not something I can or will use. I am okay with most of today's offerings except the gift. I looked at the base item and it is not something I would ever use. The bundles, well, when you bought the Pro bundles, the Starter bundles are worthless. I do wish more of 3DUniverse's store was available but it is very limited.
This makes customers feel happy that they bought it yesterday.
However, yesterday's promotion didn't include many items, so the prices of those items may be the lowest this year. or NOT
I'm definitely going to include "PW Boutique Villa" in my shopping cart today, and then I'll wait for Quick-Grab price to be fixed.

Oh gosh, thank you for pointing that out! My pre-caffeinated brain was scrolling down the page and just registered the thumbnail as "outdoor patio-ish enviornment" and dismissed it.

Nope. I also alrady own the 'Nice List" item and the advent calendar item is of little interest. The only saving feature is the PW HoliDaz item which I like.
Even if the dress comes up, I got a lot of dresses already. As for the sale, as you surely know, that's life in Daz land
I haven't already owned any of the stuff offered in the nice list.
yeah -- the calendar and he free item both for textures of stuff I dont have and wont buy. PW Villa deal is awesome. The first run through of the main page was a disappointment today, but then I went back in grabbed the free items anyway. As someone said, maybe they will release the actual clothing for them yet. Off to check out QG
EDIT: well, nothing in QG floating my boat this time around. The one item that looked like I would buy, clothing set for an older woman, dForce Empowered Outfit for Genesis 9 | Daz 3D has some really strange kinks, bends, and bulges, so a no go on that too,
That purchase alone (not that it will be the lone one) makes today's sale well worth it for me!

This is a particularly meh day in a hit-or-miss holiday sale.
Yeah, that one's just odd. Too frumpy-looking for my fashion-forward characters, and too many buttons undone down the front for those who aren't. Ah well. I'm sure someone will get some awesome use off of it... just not me.
I got it in the Olivia bundle. I don't use it. But the shoes are kind of cute, so there's that.

This isn't the first time this has happened during the current sale.
And today I shall give thanks I do not live in a cyberpunk reality, because my existance would be 100% migraine. Just looking at all that light/color hurt my eyes. I can't imagine having to stand in the middle of it.
(Vegas is clearly not for me.)
I spent too much time deciding whether I want my calendar freebie and hunt for something else to buy, or I'll get the calendar cheapie instead and call it a day. Leaning toward the second option, because both Better than D+ and the Deal aren't interesting to me (I agree, though, that the villa is stunning). I share others' sentiments about gifts that are addons to some obscure item from the store. While there's that saying of not looking gifted textures in the mouth, I also don't feel inclined to even add them to my cart. But there's always one or two of those each year, so I guess we were lucky to have made it this far without one :)
The dress is already out as a New item, so my guess is they're offering the textures to encourage people to buy the base item. Kind of a markety use of the Holiday Freebie slot.
If it says "over $1" then you need an additional item as well.
For $1.50 I was happy to grab https://www.daz3d.com/wild-west-workshops-1 today, imo it has utility especially as background buildings.
Reminder that this is a double tokens day, and tokens last 14 days, thus any tokens you accumulate today could last through the Christmas and New Years sales to help with purchases then. Double tokens usually continues into at least part of Tuesday, so it should be possible to earn double tomorrow as well if today's offers aren't appealing.
Quick Grab doesn't require any buy-in, so that's not a bad way to build them up if enough bargain items are of interest.

Ok, thank you - wouldn't be the first time Daz wording is misleading. Hoped somebody knows for sure...
So how do you know when or if you have a Punch?!
Can't be sure today. But since i found nothing better i want/need i will test it and let you know tomorrow if i keep 3 punches in case 'for a buck' gets a repeat.
