Stayed slow for me. I didn't buy anything at all in October or November last year. Always another sale, though. Last one did well by me, now it's someone else's turn. :)
I do like the new G9 core figure, Carter, and much of his bundles. There's also some really good deals I stumbled upon accidentally while sifting through the featured artists for today, you might want to give it a try if you're getting any doorbuster as well. The amount they discount in the cart wildly differs, some go quite low.
I also like the new core figure Carter!
Don't forget to claim the freebie before shopping. If you're in premier and have been picking up all the freebies so far, it should push you into the next stackers tier a few minutes after you claim it.
i like the way you think.. however... even an art gallery wouldn't motivate me to bother INSTALLING those vases that will probably stay forever gathering pixel dust in a corner of the "to download" compartment of my DIM with other questionable freebies. i just collected them like the other stuff cuz they were for free, lol. maybe instead of an art gallery we could get a flea market? i have a bunch of free stuff i'd gladly exchange ^^
Stacker pots. Why am I collecting these things? I don't want them! Must be some psychological issue. My actual shopping aspirations don't extend beyond a month of D+ and some bundles from the Outlet Store.
I don't like or want Carter. I wishlisted the Ronin suit.
I just spent my way out of budget again. But I like sci fi stuff, haha. :) Very glad there's a gift card sale today.
I want to get it, but with outifts like that, I always worry that they might be "too inspired" by something I don't know, and we will never know because discussions like that are never allowed. I really wish it was possible to discuss things along the lines of "it reminds me of this franchise/character" so everyone could make their own decisions of how much "inspired" is too much.
I love the pots and I am finding the toys fun. As for what to do with them, well, the museum is a great idea, but you could also do a thrift store, flea market, or a pottery store. Or give them as 'White Elephant' gifts at office Christmas parties. Me, I am enjoying them.
Bit stressed over the new DO. To spend or not to spend. Use my tokens that expire in 5 days or not. Don't like the bundles, but do the characters and hairs.
Daveso's question here has killed my desire to get new stuff, actually. Finding just how many characters I have and how few I regularly use... I have so much already that I'm not using, let alone using to its fullest extent. As a result, I am not going to get anything more for a while unless it is really special.
So, I shall look and rarely touch.
Regards,
Richard
There is some sort of extra stacking going on at the moment, the deals do seem pretty good. With a Door Buster in the cart a lot of the PA artist items are showing a discount of 92% even before I add any tokens. I am not sure where the extra discount is coming from.
Agreed! I dont recognize this one from any property. So, seems ok? I feel ok with it.
Discussing inspirations is fine, as long as it doesn't become accusation. It can be tricky to know where to draw the line, for us as well as for all of you.
Well, a decent (imo) character and bundle. Finally a DO release on the 'member sale', a decent 'today's special' that could had potential...except.....DO is not even a 'featured artist' (DO extra discount used to be sale wide), ergo not so decent stacking. I could had resubed today, but this 'member sale' that keeps ignoring DO and DAZ+ releases and lacks the bargains from previous years is getting on my nerves and keeps me away.
From my personal experience, it is not fine at all. Even talking about how something feels too similar disappears from the forum. Posts that I noticed that don't throw any accusations but link to original work and/or mention them disappear too.
With Daz having had an editorial license in the past and many of us doing what could fall into commercial renders category, it's extremely important to be able to discuss it and link the original inspirations—or just things that we feel look similar, but from my experience on the topic, it doesn't seem that the mods have a hard time drawing the line at all, sorry. It's the mods right, sure, but it doesn't allow us any outlets for quite crucial discussions.
Point in case: I wouldn't be surprised if this post got removed because someone intreprets it as an accusation rather than complaint.
It does feel familiar, like something I've seen somewhere, but it's just a feeling, and I don't know all the IPs out there, especially gaming ones. It's probably just inspired but not really resemblant of anything specific, but the feeling is there, and even if it was close to something else, the mention of it would likely disappear from forums, so I wouldn't know makes me really wary. I guess it'll sit on my wishlist forever.
As a side note, I built a really nice $25 cart. After some thinking, I pared it down to $12, because prices are nice (especially with tokens), but I just don't feel inclined to spend (the topic of properties didn't help) and I don't particularly need any of those things. Now, after some more thought, I'm in the mindset of just getting today's Better than Daz+ and call it a day.
A third post in a row (sorry!), but I just had a thought, Richard Haseltine. Maybe some collective thread for discussing inspirations? Mods could even set up the rules, like "only link the product and what you feel inspired it or name the franchise." to make sure that there are no sneaky accusation. Like a formula, "[product link] reminds me of/feels similar to [franchise name/link]" that, I believe, is as far from an accusation as you can get or something else that the mods consider safe. All would be in one place, people would be using safe phrasing, and those who would be Daz Deal plugin would be able to check the thread for products to compare the links and make their own decisions about what they want to buy/use.
sorry to kill your buying
. Yeah, There is so much potential, and the sales keep on coming. One of my goals, which, so far, have not come to fruition, is to use every single character at leastonce, then I'll feel so much better when I buy another one.
The only place to freely discuss this topic is some place out of Daz control - Rendo forum is as good as anywhere. I'm open to other suggestions. I do have a lot to say, actually.
It's evocative. I can name you several items that may have inspired the result, and the result is not any of them. It's in a class with similar suits, and I could be wrong - But I don't think so. I would be surprised! AFAIK, the only actual sin for the Ronin suit is, no weapons. Yet, I've already got an enormous arsenal of weapons. Surely, I can fish up something. So, that's my thinking. You must trust your own thinking on that. And you could be right! My mentions of inspiration get my posts deleted and more. So, not going there here.
Well, looks like Daz might be driving its user base away... Maybe I should check that forum and become active there.
Thanks. I'll probably get it eventually. Today, I decided to only get the Better than Daz+, because it's something I can feel I'll use almost immediately and has so many applications. As for the rest, there seems to be misalignment of doorbusters and featured artists for me—when there are doorbster I'd consider getting, the featured artists' products I really want cycled out... But, I guess, is just not the right mood for shopping. Stonemason's Wonderland was under $5 in my cart (with doorbuster, tokens, and Daz+ coupon), and I ended up not getting it, because I decided I don't need it any time soon.
Maybe I'm just tired out after a month of more enthusiastic spending? Because today's deals (unless it was a glitch that got corrected) are really nice.
Daz still hasn't added Carter 9 to the Premier bundle selection, but did change some older bundles. Current crop is Audrey, Kiki, Lunardo, Vicky, Toshi, Zahara, Snow Queen, Ally, Amelia, Pixie, Victoria.
******
Add me to the list of Folks Who Just Aren't Feeling It. I decided to take the 20% off 1 month of Premier offer (can't afford the discounted yearly), but if I buy anything, today, it will be a few Outlet/Quick Grab stuff.
@joanna I'd be happy to see you on the other site! Their forum desperately needs people who want to have conversation. I still want to have a party in the Outlet Store. I may yet. RL is giving me a headache lately.
you got 20% off a 1 month membership? I'm not seeing that at all.
yeah, where's that Carter 9 premier bundle at? I have the add-on down to $2.85 in my cart with a Doorbuster item, Urban Techwear Outfit Iray Texture Add-On | Daz 3D which is $0.54 in cart.. using 8 tokens and my DO $10 off coupon. Once Carter is free, it will be a great overall bundle price.
In case you missed it, Carter bundle is now in the Premier characters selection
OK -- pulled the handdle and bought a few things using the sale deals, the 60% off stacker and whatever..3 items were 71% off just into the cart, then added the Carter9 Add-on bundle --total $10.93. with $10 coupon and 8 tokens
Also, then another cart with only the Carter 9 character bundle and used my premier free coupon ...thus $0. The deal close or better to the old days pro bundles .. plus 2 other products.
It was an orange banner & in messages. Also offered a code for 30% off DOs but the selection was mostly full price so I skipped that. I was going to rejoin toward the end of the month anyway.
my membership just did an auto renew this evening even though it said it renewed on the 17th. Strange bookeeping they do here.
Yeah! I have some medieval markets I can adapt, but a real flea market would be cool. I was specifically looking for "flea market" stores and couldn't find any. However, I got this XI Desert Survival Palace, which is clearly inspired by Dune. We can take the herbs out, put the vases in, and make Chalamet sell 'em, now we can get him as freebie.
