I did pretty well Thursday, stacking the flash sale with my $10 Premier DO coupon & 5 tokens. I picked up https://www.daz3d.com/neanderthal-9-female-shape-add-on, https://www.daz3d.com/sylveren-hair-for-genesis-3-and-genesis-8-and-81-females, & https://www.daz3d.com/rogue-elf-outfit-for-genesis-8-and-81-males for $1.26. Yes, I was trying to see what all I could get from my WL while spending as little as possible. :)
I am taking a Premier break for the next week or so due to cash flow. I doubt I will be missing much, except the super-low Outlet/QG member prices.
Do the items that appear in QuickGrab each week completely switch every 7 days or is there some leeway time? There's a couple items I want to buy in there, but I want to wait until doubletokens on monday if possible. I know that the QuickGrab generally remains empty for up to 12 hours or so during the transition time on monday, but has anyone ever tried to buy one of the outgoing items during that time? Does it retain the discount during the downtime or do the prices go back to normal right away?
They seem to get taken down reliably at end of business on Sunday, there is often a delay until lunchtime in Daz land before the new ones appear.
...same here on a few counts,
I think I have more coffee shops than bus stops, sci-fi hallways, or dunnies without a seat or lid.. Could use a few more pubs though.
As I've mentioned as well I also cobble my own characters together and have no need for another look-alike fashion model or studly hunk
What I find frustrating about this year's event is that in the past it was always the best one for those of us on a tight budget. In the PA sale last month we had not only the daily Golden Ticket granting an extra 30% but the orange banner codes, both of which stacked. Along with tokens, it made for some nice discounts compared to this month. The final day was the best with the orange banner code good for up to new items at 5.99.USD each. I cleared two Stonemason sets (SciFi Kitset and A Village by the Sea) along with an environment bundle from my wishlist. .
So far I've purchased very little during this sale and haven't much bothered looking at the Featured Artist section, as there seems to have been few if any changes to the selection from last month and one now needs an expensive item to get a deeper discount. There is almost no point in accumulating stackers wither as they only apply to New and the Door Buster items.
Hopefully the "HoliDaz" sale will be better.
This year's fall event seems more geared towards those with deeper pockets.than members ike myself, which is the opposite of what it used to be.
@daveso - I admit the coffee shop piqued my interest, too. I have most of them in the store... since a coffee shop is one of the main settings of my story, it seems like I can always find a piece or two in any new environment that'll be useful... even if FG's food is oddly shiny a lot of the time. And still no one has done a stack of coffee lids to go with the coffee cups!!! There will be cups with lids already on, and stacks of cups waiting for lids, but I guess the lids magically appear from... somewhere?
@joanna - "poor but also patient" -- totally with you there. I had a similar reaction to today's sale. Curious, gave it a shot... realized that for the urgency level of the stuff I was putting in my cart, once I calculated in the buy-in cost... well, it'll almost certainly have a better price before I ever need it. Granted, almost all of what's still on my wishlist is in the "eh, keeping it here in case I ever need to find it" category -- and the rest is under "kinda neat, would be worth it for a great deal, if I never get it then oh well" -- so it's easy to shrug and walk away.
I'll be interested to see if the extra discount on Outlet/QG stuff sticks around once Monday rolls around. Is it a sale-long deal? Just the first week and gets replaced?
I must confess that I still have problems figuring out what discounts you get when using the maximum of 8 tokens. I put a number of Published Artist items in my cart, along with a Doorbuster, which gave me a discount of 80% (I also have 16 Stackers and am a Premier member, but that doesn't seem to play a role in this current sale when using Doorbusters). I then applied 8 tokens, and the discount on these items went from 80 to 86%, and I am trying to figure out where this percentage comes from. Just to confuse me, at one point when adding items to my cart tonight, all the discounts jumped to around 92% on the Published Artist items, which got me really excited because a number of them were at $2.09, but then I added another item and the discount dropped back to 86% even though I only had around 20 items in my cart. One item even went from $2.09 to $4.76! I guess this was another one of those cases where there was a short glitch in Daz's pricing, which I should have immediately jumped on by checking out, but I was still adding things when the good pricing disappeared again. I then tossed out about half of the items from my cart to get the total price down to a reasonable level (I kept hoping that the glitch would reappear while I was doing this, but it didn't). Anyway, if anone can explain to me how 8 tokens only increases a discount by 6%, I would be grateful.
Was losing my marbles over this sale and it was adressed today!
LOL had just come here to say similar -- that I seemed to have lost all mine, so it was kind for Daz to give some replacements. =P
They look really nice, don't they? I'm wondering if that's actual geometry in there or done with a shader. Will have to check when I download them.
They do look really nice
The 'ribbons' inside have their own geometry and surface. The texture used is also simple (three stripes of colour), so it should be easy to change the various colours if someone wants some not available in the 7 material presets included.
It's been a while since I had marbles (last time I played with them was in CE1 or CE2 I think, second and third year of primary school in France), but they're offering a nice trip down memory lane
I've always had a fondness for marbles for the aesthetic aspect... so many lovely, interesting variations! I'm a sucker for pretty glass beads and stained glass suncatchers, too...
...which, now that I think about it, there really aren't any of the usual common sort of suncatchers in the store, are there? Maybe when I start trying to figure out how to make things, I'll make some.
Yes, the buy-in cost is what kills it for me. Today, my options are better for the buy-ins, but it's still annoying that 1/3 of my cart's value (and that's after Daz+ coupon and 8 tokens) is the buy-in I'm not really excited about all that much. The other stuff I have in my cart, from the featured artists? I don't need any of them urgently, but for the price they're at in my cart I would buy them without hesitation... if the offer was without a buy-in.
I'm hoping it stays. It's a nice deal and incentive to get that "one more thing" just because it's cheap or because you're missing a few bucks to the next token. In a way, it feels like the best offer in the whole sale along with Better than Daz+ (which is a great offer, but most items just don't interest me).
@gwp15 (& everyone else):
https://www.daz3d.com/daz-tokens is the link you need for Tokens. About 2/3 of the way down is a table with the discounts. I bookmarked it.
In case anyone is new, Tokens are also one of the only things that discount items to below minimum/floor prices.

@Joanna yes it will be great if Daz keeps the extra outlet/QG discounts. I am also hoping the Better Than stays & the items are more to my taste. This sale would be much better if Daz had more Better Than items each day. I might miss BYOB less. :)
Also in the camp of hoping the Outlet discount stays. I got a couple shader packs this past round that I might've waffled on at $1 (I can't really think of a time I'd need them) but at 79 cents went "well, but you don't need them until you need them" and got them anyway. Silly maybe because it's not THAT much of a difference, price-wise, but...
But sometimes it's all the incentive you need. And when you buy those $1 items discounted to $0.79 in bulk, every fifth items becomes "free." (And I also live in a state where digital items are taxable, so the lower the price of an item, the less I pay on top of that in tax.)
I don't know why I'm bothering to collect the stackers when the whole sale appears to be laid out in that discount table. I already know I'm not going to buy anything at those discounts and the featured artists discounts are normal (every day) prices for that category. Maybe I'm assuming something will change?
^ This!
I put this "Still New" item in my cart. The stacker's table say I should get 50% on "Still New" items, based on the number os Stackers it says that I have, but I am getting 29% discount. I have tried adding and removing other items from the cart, but the discount does not change. I can see the correct discounts on other products, but all the Still New items I tried so far have this problem. Can I be missing some trigger for the Still New Stacker discount or is this an error?
Hey folks, I have a question, maybe has been answered, I missed a freebie yesterday and is still in my cart.. It now shows a price on it.. If I purchase it (which I don't mind to help out the artist) can it still be purchased?
It disappeared from my cart.. maybe they will all be available at some point..
...finally an item in the Doobusters that actually would be perfect for one of my storylines (Ancient Egyptian Traditional Outfit) and relatively affordable, but is for G9 only. Until I can afford the G9 - G8 clothing converter, it will have to go on the wishlist for now (which means it won't get the Stacker discount or unlock other discounts).
...ah forgot the stacker discount and Riversoft's store is in the Featured artist sale so picked both up.
It looks like the extra discount for Stackers without any base discount, although in my case it is also one tier short. Reported to daz a little while ago (well, in stages as I was trying to puzzle it out) but no response yet - you might want to open a Sales ticket, with screenshots of your cart and stacker info, in case it can't be fixed before the end of the day.
The doorbuster items are at 60% off if you've been getting the stacker items. Thats really good for new stuff, even above DO items normally. Buy one. With my 8 tokens that doorbuster is now 72% off. Featured items will then be 80% off, and it you have any tokens or coupons you can get more off from that. So with 8 tokens I'm getting 86% off featured items. With those tokns and my Premium DO $10 coupon I have a couple DO items in cart at 99% off. One is $0.13 and the other $0.23.
My best purchases so far have been from the Outlet & Quick Grabs and of course the 1 year Daz+ for $51.75. For less than the cost of 6 months of regular Daz+ I got the whole year. I'm honestly surprised they gave a deal this low for Daz+. If you don't use G9 its the best deal in a long time for membership. Now I can just pick and choose from the QuickGrabs and then I'll wait until the Christmas sale until I make another big purchase (if this sale continues to be lackluster). But I'm hoping it turns around by the 27th, I hope the last week will go out with a bang. It seems to me they are going for the slow build up. Or maybe it just fizzles out to be a nothingburger. Either way I don't care. But If we get Cat 9 for Thursday October 30th or Friday October 31st I will be very happy. Its seems like there should be something special when Halloween lands on a Friday and its the 25 Anniversary of Daz.
@FrankTheTank it's only low compared to how high it's been. Keep in mind, the price hike did not bring an increase in benefits and historically, we've been able to get a year of Daz+ for $35 or less. Now we're all like, $52! What a bargain! Still not really a bargain, if you ask me.
The only real new benefit is the advent of the outlet store, and you need a membership to get the best pricing there. Also, there are times when it makes sense to take a month of Premier and the membership system doesn't really accommodate that when you have an annual D+ sub.
What happens if you return items which have helped you gain tokens? Will the tokens be reset to reflect order status after the return?
