Freebie Challenge September 2025 - "Holiday Memories: The Best/Worst Day" - Main Thread
The holidays have just ended or are almost over. What memories did they leave us with? There were definitely beautiful days and horrible ones. Did we have fun surfing the waves or climbing mountains? Or did we spend the whole time lying down admiring the scenery? Did we meet new friends or find love? Did we take the trip we'd long dreamed of? A nice holiday with your pet? Or were we unlucky and the car broke down, or did it rain and we had to flee, or did we argue with friends? Did we arrive at the hotel and there was no reservation? Was the flight canceled? Tell us about your experiences this summer, the best day or the worst day that made this experience unforgettable.
The use of image generating AI technology (midjourney, stable diffusion, DAZ AI Studio, etc.) is not allowed. The use of items (freebies or paid) that have been created with such technology is also not allowed. We realise it's not always easy to tell; let's all use our best judgement, and you can always ask the person hosting the contest if you're not sure.
The Rules For This Months Freebie Challenge are:
1. A minimum of (5) Freebies must be included in your image along with Links to the freebies you have used. For an item to be considered free it must be offered as a freebie for the whole month. The exception to this rule is all Daz Bi-Weekly Freebies will be allowed throughout the entire month in which they are free as well as the month following their release as a freebie (For a total of 2 months). Also, if a freebie is broken down into multiple downloads/links/parts (IE like if the freebie is broken down into 3 zips etc...)it only counts as 1 freebie, not 3.
2. There will be a Maximum of 5 purchased items.
3. Base figures (All Gen 2,3,4, and Genesis 1,2,3,8 and 9) as well as their general morphs packs (Morphs++ and similar) do not count as a purchased item or a freebie and may be used as needed
4.Your Rendered Picture must be a new render and postwork is allowed but you MUST include a before and after Postwork versions of your entry in the Entry Thread.
5. All DAZ 3D Programs are allowed (IE Bryce, Carrara, Daz Studio and Hexagon) plus Poser for the contest.
6. All entries are subject to the Daz3D TOS Found Here: Terms Of Service
7. You may enter a Maximum of 4 Entries per month.
8. You may edit your entry as much as you like in the main thread but once it is posted to the "Entries Thread" it may not be further modified. Also, if you edit or add things, be sure you update any links or freebie changes you make.

The links are correct, but I can't see some of the items in the image (piano, gothic texture, and myson bed), while the other 3 are clearly visible. The ones that aren't visible are probably elsewhere in the image. You could move 2 of them so at least a small piece is visible, and/or move 1 and add the link to the rug if it's a freebie. Then post to the entry thread.

And sorry for the confusion about the items! To clarify, the rug is actually part of the piano freebie (they give you the rug underneath too not just the piano). The My Son Bed, I used the flooring and wall from that. Gothic Iray Shader Set...this is my bad on the cropping and lighting, it looked brighter before I rendered it out, the wall texture I changed to the crosses because I liked the red better than the default blue from the My Son Bed prop but looking at it now, it is kinda hard to see since it is so dark by the wall.

I'm so sorry this is so late! I injured my hand this week and can't use it much, and it has seriously slowed me down :( I hope it can still be entered, if not I understand. Most of the freebies are from the Daz store freebie section, and are from the past few weeks.
Out in the Garden
Abby was spending the last sunny week of summer working in her garden. It always relaxed her, plus she enjoyed having friends over to entertain outside, and wanted it to look nice. She was working on repainting her garden furniture, when she was startled by a strange humming sound. Abby snuck over to her largest flower bed to take a peek, thinking it was some kind of bird. She was shocked at what it actually was - a beautiful faerie, humming happily among her flowers! The surprised gardener crouched down low, not wanting to frighten her. The faerie fluttered around for a few minutes, then flew off into the forest behind the house.
Abby smiled as she watched the tiny creature leave. This would be a summer to remember!

It's not just the timing issue—the first rendering was only slightly delayed, just under an hour. The number of freebies also fell short of the minimum threshold of 5; the rendering listed only 4, even though the links worked. Unfortunately, I'm forced to give a "conditional approval" due to tight deadlines, so please submit your render to the entry thread; the committee will then decide.

Oh! my bad. When I planned it out, i was thinking one or two of the neutral ones were still recent enough to be on the free list, and then I just forgot it was the 5 freebies version.
posted as asked, but, unless I'm mistaken about the timing of some things, it's not qualified.
Hi cosmosm I checked all the links for the "neutral" items, but none were recent enough. The biweekly freebies that can be used are those from the last two months (current month and previous months), so for September, those given away from August 1st to September 30th are valid. There are four groups of 16 items each: four fixed for g9 and 12 variable.
We'll see what the committee decides. Don't worry, this challenge is monthly; it will go better next time. A fantastic challenge has already started for October, "Monster Mash". It's a "special" challenge, so read the rules carefully because they're a little different from the standard ones applied in September.
A little tip: always include one or two items above the set limit, whether 3 or 5. This protects you from accidents such as forgetfulness, broken links, or other inconveniences. To find free items, you can also consult previous challenges, where there are tons of freebies found by competitors.
In any case, please also add the image to the entries thread, at least as an attachment.
hey @cosmosm, welcome to our little corner of the forum, so glad to have you here! I hope to see many more entries from you in our monthly contest. In fact the new one is already up and running!
I see that there's been some confusion about our rules. just to avoid future frustration:
items from the DAZ freebie section count if they're currently free, or if they've been free last month. So for the current October contest that would be all freebies from October and September.
after that time has passed, the items count as paid items, even if you personally didn't pay for them. So for the October contest, all DAZ freebies from August and further back count as paid items.
There's usually a maximum for paid items, usually it's 5 (it's not always exactly the same each month).
So you want to fill your entry with free items from the current month and last month, as well as free items from sites such as Renderosity, Renderhub, 3D Shards, PolyHaven, etc.
The spirit of the challenge is to create images mainly with assets that are currently free, or have been free very recently. As long as you follow that general idea you'll be golden!
