The Little Ball Of Calm

 

Denizens! We gather once more for the holy month of April. Once a year I manage to emotionally blackmail Daz into sponsoring my poorly managed hunger games. This year, I want to lift your spirits. It wounds me deeply to see your grumpy little faces ambulate around the forums in a state of perpetual misery. We can't all be rockstar PA's with money, fame, a collection of ornamental spoons and several warrants for his arrest. No,you need be centred, gracious, balanced, and most of all … Calm. You need the little ball of calm. For a mere $999.99 (or whatever number daz makes up), you too can be just like your favourite PA. You too can be floating around on an inflatable crocodile, and sipping margaritas in a random hotel pool you haven't been banned from yet. You too can purge yourself of negative karma, bad vibes and low credit scores, simply by acquiring the little ball of calm.

With your balls in hand, I invite you to take part in the glamorous, exclusive, fourth-annual April competition. I want you to post pictures below, depicting just how well the little ball of calm™ made you feel. I want picture's of joy, elation, bliss, and of course, calm. Essentially, anything I can pitch to late night shopping channels would be fab. I really need to get these things out of my garage.

For those who do a swell job, I will shower you with lovely prizes. Like these...

 

Prizes (Provided by Daz3D):

 

1st Place - $100 Gift Card

2nd Place - $50 Gift Card

3rd Place - $25 Gift Card

Honourable Mentions – Choice of free set by KindredArts (Priceless)

 

RULES

  1. All scenes of calm must be rendered in the Daz ecosystem (Including carrara, bryce etc)

  2. Your render must have a Little Ball Of Calm in it (islands optional)

  3. Don't touch the balls with your bare hands.

  4. Standard Daz TOS rules apply on submissions. This isn't a hippie free-for-all.

  5. Please post your entries in the ENTRIES THREAD. This will keep things nice and clean, and it we won't clutter up the commons and make Richard mad.

  6. AI – I'm not bothered if you utilize AI. Just make sure Daz/Bryce/Carrara etc is at the core of the image, and the LBC is in it. I'll leave the rest up to your conscience.

    I'm calm. I'm not excited for tomorrow at all. Not looking forward to a month of silly renders. Not at all. I'm just moving along. Calm. Walking away now, calmly.

    Thanks so much for the little ball of calm. It has come at just the right time. I am now calm.

    I was marginally concerned that a thousand islands would be too many, and my HD space would be obliterated*, but thanks to the little ball of calm, I am calm once again.

     

    *Stay calm. It does not obliterate HD space.

    You need more cowbells? Have you tried instancing?  :)

    Tropical islands AND Calming Ball? Doesn't that risk ODing on calmness? Hmmm, does the ball work on customers? (Not sharing my new islands with them!)

    As much as i would like to take credit, it was @DAZ_Steve idea to create the assortment of islands. I was just the worker monkey that cobbled it together.

    Thank you for these lovely islands. And especially the Little Ball of Calm! Absolutely what we could all use this 2025, or at least I know I do. I've already got some big plans for it. smiley

    Thank you KA for the gifts, the beautiful islands and the calm ball that we all would like in our daily life. Thank you very much also for this beautiful competition that is usually the most sparkling of the year!

    The first ideas were a geisha ball and combinations with that... devil If it can't be touched. laugh  (I had to work around a bit, but that needs a bit of creativity and screen organisation.)

    Ok, i feel like my ball touching rule was a hilarious in-joke i ported over from a previous competition, but now it's starting to cause confusion among the Denizenry. You are absolutely allowed to touch the balls. I will not judge, nor will i allow anyone to judge this kind of behaviour. I'm going to leave an image here in case i cause more confusion later on.
