ed3D - thank you. I have never seen a true meteor crater, only photographs.

The object was made with Wings 3D by David Brinnen and given one of my own materials. An instance was vertically turned around and positioned below the object. They stand on a Fading Disk. Light and colour by an HDRI from Hyper Textures Base, no sun. Rendered premium with Dof (Depth of Field) and 64 Rays per Pixel.

The terrain is from Gritstone Hills with a material from Landscapes under Fantastic Skies. The water is the ground plane with my material. The castle is the Naboo Complex by Herminio Nieves 2012. The clouds are from the Sky Toolbox and the ambient light by the belonging SkySC6 HDRI and the key light by the sun. A deserted castle above a small lake.

Hansmar, excellent how you got the gray scale with semi-transparent cubes.  No color from the sun?

I used a grey backdrop. This indeed has a white sunlight, grey sky hue and white fog and haze, so no colours at all.

Horo, mermaid010 and NGartplay: thanks very much.

Horo, your terrain renders are all amazing again. And your abstract really pops.

Mermaid010, what a fantastic depth in your blue abstract.

NGartplay, fascinating work with your tori and spheres. The man in the mirror really looks like an eye in a glassy object.

From a 150 foot meteorite.  What if that fell on a city?  Amazing.

mermaid, the dusty feel of the image goes perfectly with the spaceship.  Makes it look like it's taking off or landing.

Horo, I love the intricate detail of your terrain.  I think that I have that package, just never installed it.  I'm so lazy.

    Horo another magnificent landscape.

Whoa - 308 entries since I last checked in !!! Too many to individually comment on - but very nice work everyone !

A bit of sad news on the personal front - my pet dog Buddy had to go to the vet at the end of October to be put to sleep. The vet checked him over and advised "It's time - his body is giving up on him" Would have been 17 years old in December. Been a bit of a struggle to get back into 3D since then.
