the Cloudflare bad gateways have been the worst I ever experienced
drafts no longer save
sick of typing out responses on multiple browsers and losing everything

On the bottom line of my Firefox browser, it indicates that it waits for facebook. If this takes too long, I get the gateway error. I wonder why the forum wants to connect to facebook.
It's definitely been one of the worst days that I can remember for the forums.
And I can't even access my Wishlist.
Oh, now it works.
...this is why I often take to composing my posts in Word The other reason is that it has better spell checking than Google (which I believe is now AI based given some of the weird suggestions I get).
I've found a worse gateway. The website for Visible, a subsidiary of Verizon, has been completely inaccessible for at least as long as I've been aware of the company.
That Visible website works for me. Apparently they offer "unlimited data" and "unlimited 'premium' data". I wonder if that's like regular and premium gasoline.
@Gordig, likely a hardware failure on a server somewhere between you and that site, had something similar several years back, a site I'd been using for about 18 months suddenly "went dark" to me, ping and trace route all came back normal, so I tried a proxy and got straight through. From what I understand a server in middle USA had a partial hardware failure, not enough to shut down the server or throw up alarms, but enough to severly cut the amount of data packets allowed through, took over 6 months for the idiots to figure out something was wrong.
Maybe your gateways don't go bad if you use the premium data instead of the regular data. Or maybe you need diesel data. Unleaded data?
my gateway is still bad
its only DAZ forum that gives me these issues
low/cheap service tier
worst gateway ever !!!
It's really bad today. I thought they were supposed to be working on a fix for this a long time ago.
...indeed, had around 10 hit me just trying to post a single response.
Happened to me just now also. I was trying to make a simple post with an image and it literally took close to 20 minutes or more and I don't even recall how many "bad gateways" to get it done.
Happening to me a fair bit over last day or so
According to Wikipedia, it's a datamining company that now has control over accessibility to almost 20% of the internet's websites:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloudflare
I'm not sure what's more disturbing; the fact that a single corporate is in a position to effectively switch-off access to almost 20% of the internet's websites, or the decision to allow such a system anywhere near your website in the first place.
I was having a grouse to Daz and apparently Cloudflare is doing some maintenance, so on this occasion it may be them.
The cats have executive access to the server and love to cause problems. It's the wires.
the lava lamps need polishing
I get this a lot.
Edit what is a grouse? Is it not a bird?Yes, you are correct. It is also one of the creatures with a name that can be used as a verb meaning to voice complaints. Others are carp, crab, and female dog.
Hallelujah!

....still happening tonight and posting/saving comments seems to be taking longer than usual..
Yet, for me, it only happens to the DAZ site. Hmmm...
The DAZ site is rather infamous for having trouble with things that no other site has issues with... It's especially prblemeatic when working with Firefox and Microsoft, but Chrome seems a little more stable.
Got plenty of that bad gateway error this morning!
not even rewriting my comment
Click on something.
With some luck you get a forum page.
But you might either get a 'bad gateway' (and just to emphatize I got 2 'bad gateway while typing this).
I am wondering if Daz is trying to get the users use the forum, or they just have the cheapest possible solution.
I feel like it's not Cloudflare's fault, since every time I get the error page it says the error is with the host, i.e.DAZ.
