Once this is settled, I expect two things:

    1) A massive apology sale or a massive apology freeby.

With massive Japanese-style bowing to save family honour, surely - just to keep things in proper proportion.

Plus a 93.67% discount on everything in my wish list. Stacking...

I'm taking this as a sign that the above request is not happening, but that Chohole will instead be travelling via winged pig to personally hand deliver every item on every user's wishlist tomorrow.

Hey, look at that! 1000 new items on my whishlist! laugh

Buy it and open a Support Ticket for a refund for the previous purchases.

    Greetings,

To the folks complaining about the store; trust me, even Amazon.com has these, and worse, issues.  The things that break on every site on every day...  Read this: http://www.stilldrinking.org/programming-sucks

Here's a relevant snippet, but you REALLY should read the whole thing.

Websites that are glorified shopping carts with maybe three dynamic pages are maintained by teams of people around the clock, because the truth is everything is breaking all the time, everywhere, for everyone. Right now someone who works for Facebook is getting tens of thousands of error messages and frantically trying to find the problem before the whole charade collapses. There's a team at a Google office that hasn't slept in three days. Somewhere there's a database programmer surrounded by empty Mountain Dew bottles whose husband thinks she's dead. And if these people stop, the world burns. Most people don't even know what sysadmins do, but trust me, if they all took a lunch break at the same time they wouldn't make it to the deli before you ran out of bullets protecting your canned goods from roving bands of mutants.

Seriously; these glitches are small, and will be resolved when someone gets their eyes on them in the morning, their time.  If you can't wait, buy and put in a refund request.  It's kind of why DAZ is so good at customer support.

Because everything in software is broken, all the time, and the best you can do is be kind to your customers after the fact.

Funny as that text is, and it is so funny I had milk shooting out of my nose even though I did not drink any milk in months, it does feel like the store problems went into hyperdrive when DAZ changed to Magneto™ a while back. I do remember their old, old store and while that was riddled with problems as well, many, I am sure, unseen to the customer, on the surface the 'charade' worked a bit better. It does seem weird that, despite that fact that they use more modern / professional software now and that DAZ in general seems to be doing quite well the problems with their store seem to get worse.

Shortly after I started throwing money at DAZ, the store made a major change. I don't know if that was when they went to Magneto, or if it was just a design change. But back then, there were two items in Fast Grab, (iirc,) for over a month. The same two items! Seems to me items in the Freebies section didn't change very often, either. Once the changeover was complete, things started changing in Fast Grab daily, except weekends, and Freebies changed about once a week. That left me thinking the two store sections were being ignored while they scrambled to get the new site up and running. I didn't like the new site as well as the old, but I've gotten used to it and now I can't even remember the differences that I liked better on the old site. Anyway...

I suspect DAZ is now scrambling to get all the products from RDNA integrated into the store, at the same time having to change the store rules every day to support the various aspects of March Madness from the DMB all the way down to the Even More Mad custom category; the first a gargantuan effort for something that needs to be done as quickly as humanly possible, (if not sooner,) and the second a challenge in the best of times.

I'm not saying I have the answer. As customers, we have the right to expect a smooth shopping experience without having to wait eight hours for the featured item to be discounted and it's additional discounts to show up on the other items in our carts. And I, for one, cannot afford to put everything in my cart and buy it without the discounts properly applied and wait for Customer Service to refund the difference, (though that is certainly an option for those who simply cannot wait.) I can't help but wonder, however, if all the complaining isn't putting even more stress on the good folks at DAZ, who I'm sure are doing the best they can, and thereby causing them to make even more little mistakes. For example, the Ice Cream Van and The Folly - Iray showing up in the store before their intended release date.

So in the midst of my own impatience, I'd just like to say how much I appreciate the hard work our friends at DAZ are putting in. I wish they, and their store, could be perfect, or at least come close. But I know better. So I will remind myself that I'm nowhere near perfect either, and do my best to curb my impatience... Talk about gargantuan effort!

They did. The entire store was completely unuseable for IIRC nearly a week (we were told "maybe overnight"), many unwanted changes were made to store procedures and very useful features lost "because Magento can't do that", and I was one of the many people who just plain didn't trust the listed prices for the next several weeks. The whole thing was such a complete disaster I'm still amazed DAZ didn't dump the whole thing and revert to the previous software. You certainly wouldn't think they'd bought the store version with actual support...

... and here we are, nearly four years later, with far too many of the same problems, plus lots of shiny new ones.

Well, even with the outermost care when setting up sales, there will always be some kind of glitches. I know from personal experience, not in the sales sector, but from a system where similarly complicated rules are implemented, and even if you think you have everything covers, something shows up and bites you in the butt.

I have to disagree that this stuff if acceptable because it happens with complicated sales, and that it happens to everyone. It does not. I created a Yahoo group that had over 4,000 business owners and we all shared our research and results, and there were many pleased owners with their carts.

I also did not maintain my cart around the clock. I built the interactive into the cart and hired someone competent to do it. I paid a retired IBM programmer to adjust/tweak my shopping cart on my online business after I spent a couple thousand testing various carts and not being satisfied.  Guess what- in  less than THREE WEEKS he had my cart set up to do complicated sales AND even put people into different shopping reward brackets. That's right. You didn't have to wait till the end of the month like Renderosity to claim discounts, your purchases added up then when you signed in, you were automatically given discounts according to your bronze, silver, gold, and platinum levels. AND the sales prices did not adjust for the other brackets when a sale was offered to one bracket, and I could tier the sale discounts so gold got more than silver, etc. NEVER HAD A GLITCH. Also had where buying two, three, or four things triggered different discounts.

And that was TWELVE YEARS AGO.

I did not have where a main item triggered different discounts, but I have no doubt he could have easily coded that. Daz needs to hire a professional programmer to look into fine tuning Magento. If they can't get the modules to work correctly, it's NOT THE MODULES, it's the programmers trying to do something that is WAAAAAAAY above their skillset.

Novica: Long Term you are right. But short Term all that DAZ needs to do is to make sure that someone compentent with the right system rights is awake from 0:00 to 1:00 MST to sort out problems quickly. This is easy to be done and the fact that they don't do this, is actual problem!

On a side note, the ice cream van hasn't come back! And according to the PC newsletter, it's not the new freebie OR a pc item. Maybe it was really the Mystery Machine in disguise! LOL

I'm assuming the "50 new Genesis 123 items" are RDNA items being moved across?

There are so many banners with "extra % off (off what?) various things that I'm not even going to try to understand them today. Going to go buy my lovably simple and working designcuts bundle instead.

Yes they are all RDNA ones.

Since I allready own quite a few of them and this is not yet updated on the DAZ side I have to be very careful not to buy something twice,,,,

  • Yup, most of them came from RDNA.  Even found 3 of the items from my wishlist over there.  50% off is already better than the price there ever was, but after this last month I think I'll wait on these items a bit longer.  I'm also waiting to see if the wings from some of Arki's other products (Qabbalah Accessories and Lilithai Strigoia Accessories) show up before I buy the Wings of Dispair.  I suspect there's a bit of a delay due to the preview reders not meeting DAZ standards.

I also really like the https://www.daz3d.com/nouveau-moderne expansion.

Strange thing on that ice cream truck.  When I was browsing artist catalogs the other day, I saw it a few times as the oldest item in the catalog.  Didn't look closely until it showed up again yesterday morning.

DMB Rebate is working now. That was Fast! Thanks!

Shanda an Xanadu Are alo Correct again. Great!

But Like Reported Above Some Related Items won't go into the Cart:

I experienced it with the following Items:

    http://www.daz3d.com/koko

    http://www.daz3d.com/martial-arts-hand-pose-for-genesis-2-male-m6-set-1

    http://www.daz3d.com/fugitive-pro-for-genesis-2

    http://www.daz3d.com/kajira

    http://www.daz3d.com/intense-g3f

And a general Comment for a lot of these RDNA Items it is not enough to just thow out al Promos containing nudity.

    http://www.daz3d.com/fugitive-pro-for-genesis-2

for instance does not make any sense her in the "clean" DAZ representation. I had to go to RDNA to understand the product.
