is that where your phone is? smiley

I tried Amazon Now today and got two coloring books for adults and a toothbrush.  I ordered it this morning and it came in when I got home from work.

Morning. A bit of a chill wind blowing today under a wintery grey overcast and me wishing I hadn't left my coat at home :)

So tired no wanna work today

    Happy Hump Day!  Complaints:

    - Nearly got rained on coming to work, a wet cast is strictly forbidden by the doc
    - Special nutritional diabeic breakfast shake tastes like chocolate cardboard
    - I see my paycheck in the bank but I can't use it until tomorrow!!!!
    - Office coffee is particularly awful today
    - No camel to harass co-workers with
    - Annoying boss scheduled weekly meeting for Friday afternoon, the bloody pest
    - This job is boring beyond mortal understanding
    - Ned to find new career soon-ish, need a plan...

Non-complaints, to make up for all the complaints:

    - Slept pretty well last night, all hail high-density earplugs
    - Leftover chicken wings for breakast!
    - Supposed to be nice over the weekend
    - Beer left in fridge!!!
    - Will send for lap desk for laptop tomorrow
    - Walmart online carries soups I've never seen, ordering crab soup and cheeseburger soup tomorrow
     - Starbucks brand coffe I started is almost done, finally, decent coffee
    - Blood glucose was ver reasonable today!

New career.. game development won't likely get me anywhere unless I put together a small team and I hate any kind of management, so that's likely out.  Vangelis made a living doing soundtrack work for documentaries and small films before becoming famous.. and nobody seems to care if you're an old man if you're a film/game composer (lol).. that's one option.  Writing would be a serious possibility if ifI could develop some discipline and consistency!  My mechanics for writing are down solid, ployinh, characters, etc. seem good but I just can't seem to make myself write a little every day.  If I could fix that, I'd go for being a musician/writer.

    Ugh. frown

Seems like a tail would be more suited to painting than writing. enlightened

Well, it could do both, I suppose.

Snake tails can be pointy, and as Tjohn pointed out with some juggling you could do both.  I type with my snout, it's easy to see the letters and I strike fast enough to do pretty well on the words-per-minute.  Probably looks funny, though... surprise

@Serpent: So glad to see you in here!  I hope recovery goes/is going well, with no further compliations!

Things seem decent so far.. finally sleeping o.k. (sleeping with a cast on is a bit of work),  new primary care doctor is a nice lay who doesn't want to stick too many needles into me, cast comes off next week to see how things are healing, mood is decent and morale is "good enough".  Tired of stabbing myself several times a day (oww) but it keeps my blood glucose down so things can heal.

I did discover that, for some unknown reason, Chinse food - and I don't mean the rice or noodles - really kicks up my blood glucose, and not just things like General Tso's Chicken!  Apparently most of the restaurants around here load their sauces with sugar - little buggers!  Surprising find - 4 beers at bedtime and still woke up with only slightly elevated blood sugar.  Who'd have thought?

Big win - Pizza Hut dry rub wings!  Some sugar but not much, great flavor, lots of protein.. and super tasty!  One lage order lasts 2 days, hard to complain.  Just need to avoid the dry rub spiced fries, omg, I can down an entire order in 3 minutes!!

That's all the news that fits.

Complaint:  toes itch.  On the left foot, where thete ARE no toes.  Supposedly this can happen on and off for a year or more! ARGH!! angry

Sounds like mostly good news!  As for the itch, I get a phantom pain in a tooth that isn't there, now and then.  It's weird.  Not quite the same, I know.  That would drive me crazy  umm...er.

LOL, well, considering I don't work in 3D any more, more cores won't do me that much good!  The RAM would be nice, especially if I try moving to real film scoring and need seriously real orchestras.. those things can be 8-12GB for just a string section!!! surprise But if you want to play with the big boys, you need the tools.. le sigh. frown

Yeah, nothing too horrible happening right this instant, thankfully.

Having phantom tooth pain would bug me more.. the foot I can kind of ignore, the mouth, different business! surprise

Could work. I wrote a book and got rich* . . . Heck, I even went and did it again!**

    * only for certain negative values of rich (like "minus ten squillion dollars")

    ** minus twenty squillion dollars

You know what they say: the easiest way to make a small fortune is to start with a large one. crying

    Today's complaint:

Went for my usual lunchtime walk to the shops (it's about a mile each way). Picked up groceries (dozen eggs, 4 pint carton of milk, bacon etc - healthy stuff) queued at the checkout, bagged everything up. Oly then did I discover I didn't bring any money.

Ho hum. Twenty minutes home, twenty minutes back to the shop. It's now *issing down with rain and I'm soaked. It was only 6 quid's worth of stuff! Complete change of clothing required. Should've added a bottle of shampoo and a bar of soap - at least I'd have been clean by the time I got back. Probably get flu and pneumonia too now.

Still, at least there isn't a Starbucks within thirty miles of here!

There's a convection oven attachment, but it's an extra $300... crying
