Not everyone is getting it.
Man! Thanks for reminding me about coupons :D Need to dump mine and Feb is almost over, almost missed on free Premium bundle too.
That free bundle coupon is amazing. And since it started I've realized it becomes quite useful right at the end of the month. If you're Premier and have a gold star the Rebel bundle is a good price right now so it could be a good time to buy her too.
October-Lycan
November-Ashley
December-Sylvia
January-Lucas
February-Cecelia
All great bundles and the addons are very inexpensive with the tokens too.
I was thinking they looked like a series of anchored lightsabres (laser swords), and George lucas did seem to have a reputation for overdoing the lightsabres (not that I have seen any of the prequel/sequel films, but from comments and satirical mock-trailers). The jawas were, if I am ecalling correctly, the small, dester-dwelling, "scrap traders" from the first film (or fourth film, depending on how you count).
I don't get a lot of tokens (I usually have small carts) and I am often unable to use the best stacking since so many now require New, pricey, &/or "not my thing" buy-ins. But most of my larger bundles (pro, starter, theme, character) were free one way or another (deals, coupons, biweekly freebies, etc.) or under $10:
Tara, Vicky, Sylvia, Lahr ($0 Premier)
Nikolai Santa , $4 buy-in
Minerva Christmas, $8 holiday deal
Tree Giant, $6, & Vulpine Folk, $7 (Lightning Deals)
Damien 3 & Spooky Hollow ($40 off DOs with $3 buy-in)
That's tupical for surveys.
Premier is basically the buy-in for March Madness.
Well I'm now a believer, Premier membership is awesome. 3 days in and half my gift card balance is gone. I need to pace myself. Its not even March yet.
It's not stunning, but as "only" Daz+ member, I managed to get something I like. I have the golden ticket, because on a whim, I bought something from the door buster (or however it's called in this sale) selection, and with that, the jewerly set was 50% off, making it a reasonable price for a buy-in (and it's something I could actually use). That, in turn, brought the price down for Lycan 9 bundle which I was planning to get for a while now. Together in my cart, they're $18. Add monthly $6 off DOs (both items are), and I'm paying $12 plus tax.
But without the DO coupon, I wouldn't be as inclined to get it.
I feel that, my gift card balance is rapidly depleting also!
Yes, we will need a good giftcard sale soon (And that is sooner than 'DAZ soon').
Likewise. Just picked up a hair from my wishlist, base price $26.99, at a discount so low it wasn't a qualifying purchase for a Gold Star.
Those prepaid cards work because Visa processes them like Real Credit Cards - for example, they get declined if there's not enough money on them instead of the remaining balance being applied to the purchase. (I used to do customer service for a retailer that sold those.)
What you still cannot use for Premier are bank issued DEBIT CARDS with Visa, MasterCard etc. logo. I just (5 minutes ago) rejoined Premier and had to do so with PayPal because Daz would not (again) allow me to use it on Premier - even though nearly every other purchase here is with that very debit card which does recurring payments. Ironically, PayPal is linked to that same card, so it's an extra unneeded step
Pre-March Madness is working out really welll for me. Almost my entire WL is on sale now. With coupons, tokens and some deals, I'm finally going to get some of these items that have been on my WL for so long.
Me too. Almost everything on my WL is on sale today as a returning "still new", and the handful of things that are not are also on sale (in the artist stores), with the exception of one item.
I plan to be down to one item in my wishlist at the end of the day.
its a scary sale actually, for my wallet. Right now I have 15 items in my cart for $28. 92% off. There's a banner for extra 50% off DAZ+ items if you buy a new release...the only weakness here is there are reall no new releases that strike me as even remotely needed, but the one i did put in the cart only raised the price by $1, but now if I take it out it rasies it $8, so might as well leave it in there. I wish something compelling would be new released soon. Obviously everyone's taste different. Have 9 WL items in the cart, but yeah, most are on sale at 60% off.
Well, I just got the Rebel 9 character (not the bundle) for .74. I have no idea what caused the price to be so low. The whole cart was $4.05.
How are people getting good prices? I'm usually really good at getting carts to go over 85% off or more but I can't even get close to that even with tokens.
And ... done. 1 item left in wishlist, the one thing not on sale today.
As I said to a friend elsewhere - Now I can stop buying stuff. That's how it works, right?
Almost the same here except my wishlist has 5 items left that weren't on sale.
With a new release, a gold star and Premier, I'm seeing 84% off the 60% selection, 88% off the 70% selection, 92% off the 80% selection and 94% off the 85% selection. No token active in the cart, so even with only 10% off due to the goldstar instead of 20%, you should be able to get to 85% with tokens, at least on the three older selections if not the newest one.
Is this the correct penthouse for the FG Penthouse Bundle https://www.daz3d.com/fg-penthouse or should it be this one from todays sale https://www.daz3d.com/fg-highrise-penthouse
Premier, 8 tokens, gold star from a purchase in the last 2 days, 1-2 new releases gives the maximum discount sans any gift cards or coupon codes. The bigger the cart, it's worth it to add a new release even if you don't want it, to trigger extra discounts. (Think of it as a freebie.) Cart test with 2 new releases to see if the price changes further.
It also depends on what categories people are buying, and if the items are PA or Daz Originals/Daz+, since tokens affect Daz items differently. (More discount)
I remember reading in psychology class about an experiment with intermittent rewards. IIRC, there was a mouse that got a pellet every time it pressed a lever, one that got it occasionally when it pressed the lever, and one that never got it when it pressed the lever. The always-mouse would just press the lever when it needed a pellet. The never-mouse eventually gave up. The occasionally-mouse just kept slamming that lever like nuts, hoping the next time would be the time a pellet would drop.
Have to say, those pellets are getting fewer and farther between.
I think I am closest to the never category. Unless I can see something I expect to to look interesting, I don't start doing cart juggling.
So far I haven't bought anything in madness.
The thing is I already have everything I want from the older sections. And I'd have to buy something first to get a gold star and I'm not going to get an overpriced old Daz Original "doorbuster" that I've passed on a zillion times just to get a star. I already have all the older products I want so only the 60% off category interests me and I'd have to first get a gold star buying something overpriced I don't need and then a debut item the next day just to trigger a price I can get easily during normal sales. Maybe I should just take some time off, wait till the next Premier or PA sale and by then my Daz+ will have expired and I can get Premier for one month and scoop up everything that's new now with stacking and tokens for better discounts. Shopping here on a regular basis can backfire. I think for me taking a long break will be beneficial at this point. But it's still the beginning of the sale and maybe they'll change the formula. If they do a $1.99 PA items sale like in the past or brand NEW doobusters, I'm back in. Otherwise this sale does not impress me or fit my needs.
thats the thing, need, vs oh, that's cool at the price. I picked up 9 DAZ+ items at the extra 50% off yesterday. They were in my WL too. The thing is with wislist, I ut most new releases I am interested in right to my WL. The pricing is just too high on everything. Even the 60% off stuff is too high. Most DO items just don't interest me all that much, bigger token discount or not. I'm pretty much at 80% off or up now to even buy anything. I'm now at buying things I thought were cool before and are now at a decent discount. I think I could buy forever.
Well, now that we checked out yesterday we have two more days of the catchup that was supposed to be 'Today Only'. Why am I not surprised?
I quess technically DAZ was correct because they ended the one catchup sale and started a new cachup sale instead of extending the one sale. But never-the-less the net result is the same: two more days of essentially the same catchup.
And there's only 34,000+ items to look through, too. Time to scroll, scroll, scroll...
As this point in my Daz acquisition career, there's very little older stuff that I'm interested in buying. I buy new items, or wishlist them until - like yesterday - there's a good opportunity to scoop up the new/recently new wishlisted items en masse. Of course, there's already a new thing from today in my cart ...
