So What's the deal with this 'DAZ Connect Offline Authorization'?

OK this offline fault in the beta, is it why I cannot find the option to install the offline files in the content tab that I pasted into data install in the cms folder?

I cannot find those 3 freebies at all yet my other connect compatible purchases are all there with the symbol

I had the same question. Where the heck are the freebies located???

I nearly forgot: we already have a check box to hide content we've already purchased from showing up in the store browser, so when can we get one to exclude DAZ Connect items from showing up as well? Many of us won't be buying that stuff, so there's no need to waste our time and bandwidth wading through it all when searching for stuff in the store.

    Thanks...

I submitted a feature request for that yesterday. Maybe if enough of us do so, they'll actually pay attention.

I guess I don't understand the frenzied "downloading all my purchases" thing going on. Haven't you all been doing that all along? If not, have you been so fortunate as to have ultra reliable internet serrvice so you could always connect if you needed a file?

I use DIM but it still leaves a copy of the zip in my designated directory. This directory is also part of my periodic backup scheme.

Pretty much everyone I know who's into 3D DOES keep a back-up copy of their purchased files --  I keep mine on two external drives that are duplicates of each other, and on the off chance that one of them fails, I can always create another back-up from the surviving drive (it's the lazy man's RAID setup). Been doing that for years with great success, tho' lately I'm considering adding a third back-up as extra protection (thankfully, big hard-drives are inexpensive these days). On the other hand, I also know some folks who buy 3D content who don't back it up at all, and who just use their account at the online store they bought that content from serve as their archive (which IMO is extremely foolish of them, for any number of reasons).

I also don't use DIM, and even tho' my computer has a decent-sized hard-drive, keeping both an archived and an installed copy of my library on it would be impractical.

I've had a real love-hate thing going on with DAZ for the last few years (starting with the way they burned a lot of people -- myself included -- who actually paid for DS4 Advanced/Pro licenses), and this DRM business is the final straw. So I'm bailing, but before I do, I want to be sure that I have the very latest versions of all my purchased content and copies of all my receipts -- I won't have access to them once I've cancelled my account. I would imagine there are quite a few people doing exactly what I'm doing right now.

They should be in Smart Content, and in the Content Library under Categories and under Products. If you want them in DAZ Studio Formats you need to find them in one of the other locations and drag into the desired folder (which creates a special DS shortcut).
