Emissives not working in fbx files imported from Daz (not using dtb bridge)

Emissive materials are not imported when importing fbx files straight from Daz. I'm not using Daz to blender bridge at the moment. Haven't set it up or tried it

Guess I'm spending big money on a p600 quadro and p40 Tesla for Daz Studio. I was hoping I could cheap out and use blender on an m40 instead. Guess not ;(

Fbx only imports basic textures, not materials. If you want to import materials then try diffeomorphic which gets a fair good conversion from iray to cycles, including emission.

I used to diffeomorphic to import an environment and I got this error:

Some assets were not found. Check that all DAZ root paths have been set up correctly.

You have to do what the error message tells you, there's an extensive documentation available at the addon site.

i didn't know there's something specific i need to do. It's been years since I used it. I used diffeomorphic back in something like 2017-2018 last so I'm just now relearning stuff about it

If you follow my link above it explains there's a script to run which does the work for you. No need to guess anything.

Am I using the script wrong? Do I save the import to Daz file that the script generates somewhere specific????

Please upload a picture of your daz and blender folders so we can compare. If they're the same then everything should work fine. Below mine that's the deafult, I don't use daz connect, if you do be sure that the cloud directories are listed too.

Where did you find the global settings window? I never saw that on my blender. Note: I'm using the latest edition of blender (4.x not 3.x)

I've tried it on 3.6 but the same issue happens

It's the addon global settings where the daz paths are, as explained in the docs I linked for you above, which you are supposed to read.

    Maybe I'm misunderstanding the instructions?

You did not find the global settings button in the main tab ? If so try a clean install, though I'm not aware of anything which could remove the settings button, so you really messed it up bad some way.

Clean install of what? Blender or Daz? What part of the screen is that dropdown menu on? I only see the menu itself

What software is the global setting found in?
