Looks great. What about the horses visible in Totte's previews?
I have included a mounted partial pose to help build some mounted soldiers, but the Medieval Army set doesn't contain horses in itself. I had to draw the line somewhere!
As Totte has done some teasing, here are a few preview images of my set LowPi Mediaval Army which will be released at the same time as Totte's Formations set. Very excited to see everyone's reactions to this, it's been great fun to work on it.
With those formations, we just need marching band skins/props to go along with the Arena thing I suggested a few days ago for a good half time show. :)
And being able to add the props to the base lowpis would solve the issue of never seeing someone randomly carrying a sousaphone in a normal crowd. :) :)

Some teasing of what is coming soon for the LowPi Crowd Generation,
Formations for LowPi Crowd Generation and Formations Builder.
And PhilW has something wonderful coming too for this...
Wow, this is looking like a must-have product.
I like your cheeky Asterix/Obelix promo image!
Thanks!
I'm a big fan of Asterix & Obelix since like 55+ years, so when I started with Formations, a Roman Tortoise formation was something I decided it needed to support, and the rest just came naturally when making a promo for it.
I'm a little uncertain what is the difference between the Builder and the Extension - neither says that it needs the other as a required product. Is this correct?

Thje extension is needed to create formations of LowPis. The extension comes with a handful formations: Formations (.JSON)
Default 8x8 Square
Default Cavalry Arrowhead
Default Inward Crescent
Default Large Diamond
Default Long Firing Line
Default Marching Column 4 Wide
Default Napoleonic Hollow Square
Default Outward Crescent
Default Phalanx
Default Small Circle
The Medieval Army comes with another set of premade formations
The formation builder is a tool to define your own formation layouts, how large, facing, formation form etc.

So I need the Extension for sure, and only need the Formations Builder if I want the extra shapes - but if someone buys the Builder only, does is actually do anything without the Extension?

Sorry to be so stupid, blame my old age!
You can make formations, but not really do anything with them, except hand them over to someone who can use them. But someone could use it to create formations to use with whatever they like ( a game engine for example ) as the generated JSON could work if you parse it for something like that.
Formations are a big challenge for me to figure it out. It looks like I do not have enough grey hair, yet
Nice one!
Yes Charge/Break was something I came up with late in the process ( called feature creap in PA lingo ), but I felt that would really add something extra to it.

Thank you for your patience, I think I understand now. So I'll grab the Extension and PhilW's medieval army folk for now and wishlist the Builder for a future cart.
1. Add an LP Formations Marker to the scene.
2. Make sure you have a Saved Area Set that you want to use for the Formation, or make one and save that.
3. LP Crowd generator - Formations tab
4. In Formations Tab -> Formations Setup Tab
5. Check a formation defintion to the right
6. Click Set - button at Formation: ( Now stuff is filled in )
7. Set the Area Set (right click the area set column)in the Section Type List under Base Formation Set
8. Name it, save it
9. Click on Formation Selectort Tab
10. For the Formation Marker, right click the Formation column (saying not set), choose your Formation
11. Set the params
12. Hit Generate Button

Thanks a lot. Will check this workflow as soon as I can.
I see the correct version is not in DIM of Croewd Generator, it was supposed to have need uploaded ( was tested ) 2026-01-12.
I send a ticket to PA support.. should be idone tomorrow.
There seems to havre been issues with the activation of the new download, never failed before.
Sorry for the inconveience, I missed that, (I already had the latest on all systems as I'vr been testing there.
My bad though, should have verified the update, but that weekend when the update was tested and supposed to end up in DIM, it was kind of weird here. My father passed on the nineth, so I had my head and heart elsewhere.
OK, Crowd Generator 1.4.0.1 is now in DIM!
Update and then things will work a bit better,,,
The reason for an empty Formations Tab is that that tab has been there (unpopulated) a while, but it is only visible if the Formations Extension is installed.
Now it will be populated with 1.4.0.1 version of Crowd Generator!

Also looks right up my street!
Horses are Pred LowPoly Horse, worn by LowPi. But the updated PopPlus handles lowpi wearing things under it like horses or bikes now.

Love all you do, guys. Hope I made you smile.
Great to know and well done.
Is PopPlus already released?
Thanks for the explanation.

Congrats on the release.
Looking forward to this updated PopPlus that handles lowpi wearing things under it like horses or bikes.
Where it is located?
In DIM ( was released about a week ago)

Any chance to get a list of steps necessary to create a simple scene with the formation, please, please.
I am reading the PDFs, but when I open the Formation tab in LP Crowd Generator there is nothing in it.
1. Add an LP Formations Marker to the scene.
2. Make sure you have a Saved Area Set that you want to use for the Formation, or make one and save that.

I have followed your guide / description, but I still cannot see these sub tabs in the formations tab.
Where they suppose to be located? Please help.
Below are the screenshots of the scene and relevant tabs of LP Crowd Generator.

All the best for you, @Totte

Ah Totte, you have my sympathy. Take the time you need. It is not easy to lose a parent or other family member.
It will not ease your heart or soul, but I picked up all three packages yesterday.
Mary
Yes, Totte. No hurry - take the time you need. Condolences to you and your family.
My mom has passed away 15 months ago and my father many years ago.
One need to find enough strength to keep going on.
