Hello, I've run into an issue with Crowd Generator. No matter the set I choose, no types are shown to be selected and I then get the expected "You don't have compatibilities checked." error when I try to generate the crowd.

I have tried many sets, all defaults from base or add-ons. I have also tried turning extensions on and off and that changes nothing. I have also just reinstalled crowd generator using DIM.

I have version 1.2.4.5 running on DAZ Studio 4.24.0.3 on Windows 11.

    What am I missing?

If you check under /data/BWCTotte/LowPi/compkeys/ do you have any compatibilities installed there? You should have default.json there at least. If not, how did you install?

I used DIM to install. But you have given me a solution, Totte.

I have two DAZ libraries in different drives, therefore I have two /data/BWCTotte/LowPi/compkeys/. I had undead.json in one and default.json in the other. I went back to the script and was able to generate a zombie horde. I then copied default.json to the same directory as undead.json and things are now working.

I will look into installing all LowPi tools to the same library if I run into more problems.

    Thank you for the help!

That is one thing I've been working to handle fully in Crowd Generator (almost done), to handle multiple libraries. It handles PropKits, PoseKits and WearKits from in different libraries, but some of the underlaying control infrastructure files are still not looked for everywhere!

Great it was such a simple solution!

There is a lot to learn there. Be patient and don't expect to conquer it all on the first try. Totte wrote helpful tutorial-like user guides. Follow them and don't just try to figure it out by clicking around.

Oh yeah, I learned that the hard way. I was going to get into it today, but found a group of older products brought over from DIM last time I had it open that needed full metadata or spiffing up. Just finished after 6 hours and my brain is fried. I will attempt to study LowPi Saturday morning. Should be quiet, except for laundry.

I discovered a great use for the LowPi Toolbox Volume 1, that I hadn't thought of at first. The Dress Em Up script can work from a WearKit or a Set. The WearKit option lets me test a new or modified WearKit without having to create a Set first, and I don't have to take the time to create a new crowd with that Set. It lets me debug WearKits much faster.
Before the Toolbox, I would have to put the WearKit in a Set and Generate a crowd. Then if I saw a WearKit error, I would have to fix the WearKit and rebuild the Set and generate a New crowd. Now I have a saved undressed crowd scene that I can just reaload to test any WearKit. It saves a lot of time.

    Very clever indeed!

That's a big posse! I finally got my LowPi set with cowboys on horses with guns drawn, working to my satisfaction. My PropKit loads both the horse and the gun on the LowPi. I wasn't able to get it to load the horse materials for the longest time. I finally figured out that the Crowd Generator will only try to load prop materials on the first prop in the Wearable, so I manually rearranged the order of the gun and horse in the Wearable file. Now it works. (I had to rebuild the set of course.).

Who are they chasing? Probably Richard Haseltine, I suppose. He must have gotten into some mischief again. I hope he can run fast.

    Lovely Renders!!

And as they're chasing Richard, I guess he deserves it, he probably nicked their cowboy stew

I think they are defending the honor of Miss Kitty. I hear she had a litter, and they all looked suspiciously like Richard Haseltine.

    Gingers, ya gotta luv them.

Seriously, did I miss a LowPi horse? It is early here and my Gingers woke me two hours early so the brain is not engaged. If there is not a LowPi horse, how did you do it @barbult?

I am totally amazed at your creative mind.

Bascially, you pose a horse, export it as a static prop, then  you create a wearable preset (Pose with a prop), and a propkit with it ( to set colours), and poses with random for the LowPi, and attach the Horse to the LowPi.
The usefulness of the LowPi ecosystem and the way you can use anything with it is rather infinite, just the imagination  (and CPU powers) sets the limits....

I used Predatron's LowREZ Horse 2. I created poses for LowPi to ride the horse and hold the reins and put his feet in the stirrups. I posed the horse and the reins and stirrups and then put LowPi on the horse.and posed LowPi with the poses I had created.I selected LowPi and created a Wearable Preset with the horse and the also saving the pose data. I didn't export the horse as a static prop as Totte suggested. I just kept the full figure. Then I created a PropKit with the horse and created a Set which assigned the right Wearable Prop to the right pose. This was all a lot of work. I had to create separate LowPi poses for each horse pose (walk, trot, gallop, etc.) And I had to create separate LowPi poses for Feminine and Masculine to get their hands and feet positioned properly for their body differences. In the morph list, I had to exclude Height and Mass, because that threw all the posing off and the LowPi no longer interacted properly with the reins and stirrups. I like to challenge myself!

Hmm, besmirching my good name again I see. Hmm, just you wait until I have crossed Dead Man's Arroyo on that fallen tree and the pussy has left the posse stranded.

That's a relief, I wasn't sure I would be rendered to make it.

I was a little slow in posting. I napped while it was rendering. I hope you didn't suffer too long. You live to have another adventure on another day!

Great looking characters, their clothes and the horses, @barbult.

You have mastered LowPi very well.

@barbult, thank you for your creation method. We now have two ways to do this. And I love the Richard rescuing himself. (Don't forget to update your ART thread with the NEW Adventures of Richard.)

Yes, I've been thinking of putting the new Richard images with the others. Like so many things, this started as a single simple image, and Richard wasn't even part of it. But then... laugh

What did you use for the dust trail, either around the horse legs or the one left by Richard ?
