hello, 1.5.01 is the last official one, but 1.5.15 should work on OSX without too many issues. What happens exactly, the pane is missing in Window->Panes, or you click and it doesn't show, or else?
I'm on OSX and 1.5.15 works just fine.
When I'm in the option to add a new pane to the window, I can see it as one of the options.
When I click on it nothing happens.
Tried adding other panes and they work OK.
Might try to reinstall the official release and see if I have the same issue.
I reinstalled 1.5.01 still had the same problem.
Usually I add the panels by right clicking and selecting Add Pane (Tab), all the others load OK this way.
I then tried using the windows menu -> Panes (Tabs), and this worked!.
So guess, I will install the beta back now, and know now that Panel only can be added from the windows menu.
Nice video in DS Creative this month!
In the currently available versions, the main menu is the only way to open the pane. In the upcoming version adding from the panes themselves is also allowed.

Another teaser...
This upcoming version is sounding very intriguing.
Especially with better iRay support, looking forward to another great update.
Hi Kendall,
Is there still a chance to see it in the store?
Absolutely. Just finishing up some work for a LAMH update as well as these. Once DAZ decides that they are what they want, they'll be put in the store. Is there any specific character you're looking for?
Kendall
Great news =) I'm primarily interested in 'older' male characters like those for M4 or the fifth generation like D5.
I bought LAMH and tried to learn with Kangaroo product but it's not best for beginners learning LAMH or on my feeble laptop. Here is a link to a general explanation of the various characteristics of human hair which should be doable on my laptop.

Question ... I don't use Iray. I'm in 4.7 using 3delight and the freebie version for presets. Is there a trick I should do to make it render faster and not change the settings upon closing?
Lowering the hair count to the minimum necessary is the main way to "speed up" rendering of LAMH Renderman hair.

Another question ... does the freebie preset for Night World Lycanthropos work on all of the add-on Night World Lycanthropos products, too, like ...

If the meshes are the same it may work. This is a question for RawArt.

LAMH Editor is creating it's work directory in the Default DAZ Studio 4.9 working directory rather than the user's configured DAZ Studio working directory: <Windows Library>\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\ instead of my configured <Windows Library>\Design\DAZ 3D\Studio\ where all my other Studio working files are.
We get the base working area from DS. Please check your settings in DS to make sure that DS4.9 knows that you want your default area in the relocated area.
Kendall
Well they keep the base as the default but that's not configurable by the user but the content, renders, and other working files directory locations are configurable so that in effect caused the default DAZ Studio working area to be empty folders (except for your lookatmyHair and a couple of Cararra directories I haven't tried to configure yet) because users have configured everything else to be stored elsewhere.
I guess DAZ doesn't make available to vendors a way for users to configure the working directory like you can do with DAZ's own working directories?
If not a big deal DAZ doesn't allow PAs a directory location configuration dialogue for plugins such as yours. Honestly I'd like content-wise DAZ Originals to go to Studio/Library/DAZ Original and PAs to go to Studio/Library/PA/<PA Vendor> but that's not going to happen.
The proper solution would be for DS to allow us to set a new base directory for all those things as well as the individual content format types and render library locations but it does not.
Thanks anyway.
The problem is: where exactly do we move to? Users may have multiple content directories, and they can change the priority of them at will. If we try to follow the "setup of the moment" then we'll have things spread all over creation and people yelling at us that they can't find anything. We tried to create a standard "Look At My Hair" storage area in the "My Library" area but were shot down early on. We were told to put the files in the "user storage area" which is exactly where they are now.
I do have a solution, but you'll have to wait for the finalization of some modifications before I can make them public.

My problem with LAMH is an odd one perhaps. I housesit. A lot. So I have installations of DS on various computers in various houses all over the show. And all my data is on an external which travels with me. So I want my LAMH data to travel with me too, on my external and not stay marooned on a random computer somewhere. If your new solution fixes my problem you will make me a very happy bunny.
Well that's what I wondered. If DAZ 3D didn't permit LAMH to be kept anywhere else. Like I said, it's easy to forget the other location when I don't use it but once I find it's being used it's not a big problem. I just have to remember when I do things like backup & move to new computer & such the LAMH is in a different area.
Just talked to RawArt and he didn't even know there was a freebie preset for his lycan or his dragon, lol. So who would know?
http://www.furrythings.com/presets-humanoids/
http://www.furrythings.com/presets-animals/
but the preset has to be matched to the target mesh because of geometry and such.
I'll give him a shout and see what I can find out.
EDIT: All are the same mesh and should be able to use the same preset. You may need to set the figure name to match the one that the preset is for in order for it to recognize the match.
Kendall
Thanks :D
I was curious, since AM has found a way to create Poser hair presets from LAMH if it can go the other way and create LAMH presets from Poser hairs and if a script to do this could be made
I know you can use Dynamic hair converter but the mesh looks meh compared to fibre hair
Hi all,
I've been using LAMH on and off and I really enjoy the product. These days, I've started using LuxRender more for my renders, and for the most part the export works well. However, lately I've been having a strange isssue.
I'm noticing that the fur texture that is produced is just solid single color image. This happens if I export as both an OBJ or Fibremesh. As such, instead of getting the fur pattern based on the texture, the fur is just of that single color, which more often than not is not even close to the average fur color. I've made sure the shave groups have all the texture associated. I tried with two different characters: Bear Clan and Cat World Regenesis, which both come with LAMH presets.
When I look at texture object associated with the fur object model, it's just a single image.
I've tried with the Iray renderer as well, I get the same result. I attached a sample of the output texture as well as a quick render in Iray. As you can see, the fur is pretty much white.
I've seen this on both on Daz 4.8 & 4.9, using LAMH 1.5.01, on Windows and OSX.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, especially after reading others don't seem to have this issue.
Any help is welcomed.
I know there was an update not too long ago. Did it update through DIM or do I need to go and do it manually?
There was an update last week. There will be another update in a couple more.
LAMH updates through DIM normally.
Kendall
That's what I thought. I could have sworn there was an edit LAMH hair button in the edit list but I can't find it anymore.
