I haven't seen those. Problem there is you always have to go in and paint out the eyebrows on all the textures.

    CHEERS!

I have a eyebrow product almost ready to send to DAZ.  It contains a massive number of eyebrow presets for matching DOZENS of DAZ Textures.

    LAMH eyebrows, or fiberhair, or...?

(I mean, regardless, I'm thrilled, since I have very limited eyebrow options and would love more)

Both.  There are presets for lots of textures that will pickup the shape and color of the current eyebrows.  The User can then use them via 3DL, FiberHair or OBJ.

EDIT:  TBH, these have been almost ready for quite some time, but I wasn't sure that there was any market for them.

I WANT THOSE EYEBROWS!  Can I use them with other figures like Dusk and Dawn from Hivewire?

No.  They are specifically for the textures that they are created for.  ATM, I've got lots of the "people" from the DAZ store created.

Hmmmm, so they are Genesis specific then.  OK.

  • Not just genesis.  Genesis, Genesis2, and some V4.  Genesis3 soon.  Depending on the response, I may do Dawn and Dusk.

I'm having problems rendering Alessandro's animals in Iray. I keep getting white spots and streaks all over the animal.  There doesn't seem to be any difference between export to object and export to fiber hair (other than fiber hair rendering much, much faster).  The white spots are far, far worse when I use sun / sky than when I use an HDRI. The firefly and noise filters are both on.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks,

    Alex.

  • Alex, you need to turn down some parameters for the glossiness. Let me find more details for you...

Ok, so here is what I usually do to avoid those bright overshoots. I apply the IRay Uber Base material, set it to PBR Metallicity/Roughness, and set the following parameters:

    Share Glossy Inputs Off
    Glossy Layered Weight 0.050
    Glossy Reflectivity 0.050

    That for me fixes things...

    Alessandro,

Your suggestions have not eliminated the problem completely but I am now down to a handful of small specks, which can easily be dealt  with using Corel Photopaint.

Below is one of my latest skunk renders,  there is one more in my gallery, together with a couple more wolf renders.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

This is going to sound incredibly silly but how do I get to the look at my hair?  Is it inside of Daz studio or do I need to export?  I have one option that says load a look at my hair preset (which, if I have them I have no idea where to find them) and when I click on it, just takes me to folders that have nothing to do with look at my hair.  I have a create garibaldi hair and an edit garibaldi hair which pulls up the program inside of daz but I can't find the look at my hair for the life of me.  And I know its been downloaded with my free daz download.  I'm just as sure its in front of my face but .....  and I have watched numerous videos, all of which start with the look at my hair option already open.  None of them show how to get to it or how to get the model into it.   again, I'm sure its user error but, after 3 days of looking and watching videos I fiigured I would just ask.  I did find the wolf which has the presets.  but I am not sure how to start from scratch. Or where to put the free presets that I find on the site

The free LAMH is just a 'player'...it will only use already made presets.  Those presets are either with some animals or there are some for older (Genesis, not Genesis 2 or 3) at http://www.furrythings.com/presets/.

Okay so I can't actually edit any of the presets?  lol I should have just asked first.  Okay that just means I am going to have to save up and plan on using my coupon next month.  Maybe I will get lucky and the full version will go on sale at some point.  Thanks!

Oh and for the free presets do I just drop them into Daz or do they go somewhere else?

  • I can't find anything in the new forums, so I'm sorry if this has been asked before.

Every time I upgrade Windows - Win8.1 to Win10, and now to Threshold 2 (1511) - LAMH asks me to re-authorise it. Is that normal?

That can happen when you update the operating system.

Sonja did you take a look at the manual? It's available here: http://www.furrythings.com/LAMHPlayer/LAMH_Player_manual.pdf

The LAMH Free player allows to load .lmh preset files or, for models that come already with LAMH character figures, you can simply load those from the Content Library (all the furred animal models I did the last months can be loaded that way). The free player allows to change hair count and few other options. Obviously it won't allow any styling.

Yes I have read everything and watched every tutorial I can get my hands on.  When I load for instance the AM Wolf with the presets, it pulls up the wolf and I can see the green *hair* but nothing else pulls up.  There is no option to edit anything, and no matter what I click nothing happens. The player doesn't load automatically and there is no option in any tab that will pull it up.  Although I now know basically what every tab in Daz does now lol   Maybe i just need to reinstall the free player and see if that does it. So when i download the free presets I am assuming I can just make a new file on my desktop, load them there and then when I click on load preset I can just pull them from that folder?

I was very happy to read about the fiberhair export for Iray that I bought LAMH yesterday when it was on sale. I am very happy so far just doing a couple of experiments. The Sasquatch moustach area looks weird so something went wrong there. The warthog fur came out great. I just converted to default Iray shaders on these, except the fiberhair on the Sasquatch is Unshaven.

I never used the LAMH player much in the past because renders were just so slow in 3Delight. I have a good GPU so rendering in Iray is much faster.

Making things looks like fun too so I will try that also.

    I love the fuzzy creatures!

Next weekend, I hope to answer one of the great philosphical questions of our time: do bear cubs look cute in the woods?
