I've been having trouble with Turbo Loader for G9. It used to work and I have many disabled morphs. When I search for new morphs, though, it stops working. The morph list updates, but, if I try to uncheck any item, Daz Studio crashes. When I try to click any button, like Save Config, nothing happens. I tried to click Execute and I saw this message in the log:
When I reopen Turbo Loader, the list has not been updated.
I also saw, in the log, this message repeated a few times among the AddRelPathToListView entries:
I have tried to uninstall some products listed around the Missing Product warnings, but that made no difference.
Any suggestions about what the issue could be?
First, it has nothing to do with the TurboLoader Missing Product, so we can ignore that. What version of DS are you using? What version of TL? What are the directories in your Content Directory Manager?
DS version: 4.24.0.3
Turbo Loader version: 1.60. The problems manifest only in Manager for Genesis 9 Base, but I also have 8 & 8.1 Male and Female installed, as well as the Booster Utilities, in case that is relevant.
Do you mean the library directories? I have a few: E:\daz\lib, D:\daz-libs\lib2, D:\daz-libs\lib3, D:\daz-libs\lib4, D:\daz-libs\lib-r.
I appreciate the help.
I mean what the Content Directory Manager lists for each of its types:
That took me a google to find, but it is the same list as in the Content Library.
Ok, thanks. Hmmm. Now you say the TLM for 8/8.1 works? No issues?
TLM 8/8.1 Male and Female work. No issues there.
Options are all the same.
Stupid question, you still have a My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 9\Base\Morphs directory, correct?
Actually, I have three of those:
And I have even more corresponding directories for Genesis 8 morphs, so, unless there is something different about G9, it does not look like having multiple directories should be a problem.
I used to have multiple small disks and now I have two big ones, but I never figured out how to join libraries short of redownloading everything.
I'm not sure if this is relevant, but, in case it helps: looking into those directories, I noticed tlOff files. The products were in the TLM list and were indeed off. I turned them on and back off and it worked correctly. It looks like I just can't update the list. Unfortunately, I have not updated it in a long time and there are a lot of products to uninstall if that's what it takes...
I figured I should uninstall Turbo Loader for Genesis 9 and start from scratch. I did that through DIM and deleted the files I found in C:\ProgramData\DAZ 3D\Turbo Loader. Then I reinstalled it through DIM and now the TLM window for G9 doesn't even open. Here is the log from when I tried.
Restoring the files I removed did not change anything. I'm guessing that there may be more TL files I should remove too? Where could they be?
Another attempt: I found https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/557186/released-turbo-loader-for-genesis-8-and-8-1-commercial/p17 that points to the registry. I found two TLMG9 keys there (certainly because the reinstall put it in a different directory) and I removed both. When I tried to open the TLM window, I got prompted to create a new list. After it ran over the morph list with many AddRelPathToListView in the log, the window did not open (same message as before) and no key was created in the registry. I guess I will try to reinstall TL again to see if the registry key is recreated in an empty state. I will report only if anything different happens.
I do not think this has anything to do with TL and installation. It seems like you changed your drives and somehow TL is not handling that correctly - unfortunately, it is crashing the script and it is not reporting the true error. I will have to make a debug version of the script to try and isolate the cause.
I really appreciate the help. Please, let me know if there is anything else I can try here.
I just wanted to drop by to leave a thank you note to RiverSoft Art. They have been trying to help me through DMs. My primary installation is really borked, though. It's not Turbo Loader 's fault, since I have a secondary computer working correctly. I have been "cleaning up" my library following some of RiverSoft's suggestions, and things got better, but I reached a point when I think that a clean install is better.
Can I ask for feature? In the manager, right click (or something) on a path and it opens the containing folder path in Explorer. I moved some files and now they show up as duplicates in Turbo Loader. Basically my library doesn't fit on one drive so I split it into G9 figure and everything else. I'm sure these duplicates are causing other headaches as well. Being able to find them quickly would help.
Thanks.
EDIT: Although this isn't the case here: There's just the one directory. Does this mean it's postgreSql issue?
Hmmm, I will think about this.
It looks like one of the times that TurboLoader asked for the product name, it didn't receive anything back so TL had to make something up.
Issues in Daz6 with resizing the dialog. The list box can get weirdly tethered.
Yeah I am not surprised. Daz6 totally changed the scripting engine, breaking some of my scripts and in others just giving weird visual artifacts. I am working to update all of my products but it will take time.
So I tried using Turbo Loader recently to improve my figure loading speed, and unfortunately, it broke my most-used character preset. Basically, in any scene that I have created that contains that character, one of its most important morphs defaults to 0%. According to the logs, the morph itself is loading, but the morph value is not.
Unfortunately, due to the fact that when loading a scene, morphs are loaded and then poses, I can't just load the broken scene and move the morph sliders back to 100% because it will distort the pose. The only way I have found to keep the exact pose is for me to re-create the broken character preset, load a fresh copy into the scene with the broken figure, and then copy the pose from the broken figure to the one with the correct morph. This will take a huge amount of time by reloading the character into every one of my broken scenes.
I tried resetting all the changes made by Turbo Loader using the "Reset Morph Directory" and "Reset Content Directories" buttons, but this did not resolve the issue.
Edit: Also, I haven't re-saved any of the scenes since the issue appeared in hopes that if I didn't save it, the scenes would still be fixable.
Have you searched your HDD for *.tlOff files? That is what TL changes the extension to in order to turn off the morph. Reset Content Directories renames all morphs back to their .dsf extension. If you cannot find any .tlOff files, then the scenes should work as far as what TL did.
I did not find any .tlOff files. Is there maybe a cache or something that I need to refresh/empty after I reset all the morphs to their original state? Also, here are the error lines in the log that may help shine a light on things.
Just to repeat for clarity, the morph itself is loading, but the value of the morph is now missing.
Edit: Idk why that quote block is so hard to read, so here is the same message in regular text form:

Once the .tlOff files are gone, TL effects are gone. Did you install products lately?
Yes, I have installed products lately. I even reinstalled the JP Sandor character in hopes of fixing the issue, but unfortunately, it didn't solve anything.
You need to look at those products then for the problem. The TL shouldn't be the problem once you reverted everything - I don't see how it could. All it does is rename files and you renamed them back. It's possible that re-installing JP Sandor (perhaps it was updated?) between the original TL rename to tlOff could have hurt its installation, e.g., Sandor Original Morph -> TL Sandor Original Morph.tlOff -> Sandor Updated Morph -> overwritten by Sandor Original Morph? Or maybe you tried to do something with the metadata while Sandor was off and the metadata has locked in the idea that those morphs are missing files, which have now been restored? I am reaching here, but the original TL is not in the equation anymore.
Using Turbo Loader's reset function was something I did before reinstalling JP Sandor, so that shouldn't be a factor either. All I know is that before I used Turbo Loader to optimize my morph collection, everything was working fine, and afterward, the character was broken - even in scenes that I saved months before ever installing Turbo Loader. I've been communicating with support, and I'm trying to find out if I can edit the morph values in the DSON files directly to avoid having to reload the character into every single broken scene. *Sigh* Turbo Loader was a promising product, too. It's a shame that fixing the errors that started with it is going to cost me days of work.

I am sorry you are having difficulty. I wish I could help you.
One last question! After messing around with the Victoria chatbot on the Daz3d website, I found out that what is broken is the controller for the morph. Is that a problem you ever see with Turbo Loader? For example, in this case, JP Sandor HD controls two other morphs: JP Sandor Body and JP Sandor Head. JP Sandor HD being set at 100% should influence those other two morphs to be the same value, but it is leaving them at 0%.

With this product, no. (With my character converters, yes, DS has (or maybe had) a bug where it wouldn't find the dependent morph when I saved the controller property, but that is a different thing). Have you tried editing that controller yourself? If it looks like garbage characters in a text editor, that is just the compression. Use 7-zip to open the file (it is just a zip file) and inside that is the actual file to edit.
