Can we expect more and at least WELL FITTING clothes for G3F in the near future?

Well, so good the new figure G3F is, the clothing for this figure is not. Nearly none of the clothing I have bought for G3F fits correct or good. Sometimes the clothes are a bit to wide and there are no adjustments to fix this or bodyparts like nipples break through. As written before, the clothes here at the DS store allways have less adjustments. The last product I have bought was the vintage bikini and what to say, much to wide on the hips, hip bones and hip crest, and waist. I do not get just an example. The adjustment morphs for this clothing are just to make the clothing wider, hey, this clothing is to wide in general. But that is not only for this clothing the case, it is nearly the case on every clothing for G3F and also for G2F. Back on V4 clothes fit much better on her than clothes fit on this new generation figures.

The best fitting pants so far for G3F are hongyu`s cowgirl 5 for V4.

  • Are you using the default figure, no morphs?  You mentioned the Vintage Bikini and I am not seeing what you are saying.  The bikini fits fine.  It is not skintight snug, but you wouldn't see that in the majority of renders.  What I see is quite acceptable.  When you make claims about other clothing, you're being too general; you will need to be specific so that if we have the clothing, it can be checked.

if you have a look at the hip region (hipbone/hipcrest) you can see it.

the only thing I want to say is, that V4 clothes fit much better to V4 than G3F clothes fit to G3F. And that is general. Except clothing by hongyu, these fits good also if they were made for V4 and being converted but that is also because these clothings have a bunch of adjustment and movement moprhs. Also the anarchy outfit for G3F I bought at rendo fits great.

Seems that I will do only nude renders with G3F because of the great clothes, so I will not post any image here.

example, undercurve breast morph for the character for example, why do clothes follow this morphs, no t-shirt in real life would do this. Or do you think a t-shirt in real life would fit like a second skin???? And this is just one example.

What about the nearly 1-2cm (would be in real live) space between the clothing and the body (right hip )

  • There is this by SickleYield for G2F, don't know if there is a G3F version yet, or whether this would work for it

and if the character got a little more belly the space will be larger. If you want to fix this you have to change the value for waist on the clohtes for example and than you have to lock the value because if you do "memorize" you will get the old value and not the fixed one. So you have to fix this everytime you load the bikini bottom into the scene or you save it with your character so you haven`t to fix it every time you need the bikini bottom. If this is the innovation of this new technology then I prefer the old technology.

  • Undercurve increases the mass of the breast so there can be more of an undercurve which would not be there with a smaller breast.  This is also a morph that would normally be used when doing a nude since you wouldn't see the undercurve in clothing.  Fortunately, there are PAs that have created products to try to help you get more natural looking clothing with more appropriate morphs for clothing.

this is a new technology and praised as the best you can get and then you need fixing-tools and converters for each and everthing??? This can not meant serious.

Chris. I create a character and this character includes all characteristics needed when it is finished. Means if the charactert is created I do not want to do any changes anymore and the clothes have to fit perfectly for this created character. That worked on V4 why does this not work for G3F?

Do not get me wrong, G3F is a really great figure with lots of new and good innovations. No question about this, but the clothing is by far not the best, hmm, not the clothing but the way the clothing gets fitted to the figure is not the best.

  • Removing undercurve for when the character is wearing clothing is not going to make enough of a difference that people would notice it's not being used.  You have much higher expectations of clothing and that is your right, but this is reality and it has been like this for a very long time.  It's actually far better now than what we had to do to make clothing fit in the past.  You may just not be familiar with all the things we had to do.  Autofit and smoothing do a remarkable job.  The clothing helpers continue that job.

and unfortunatelly converting clothes from v4 or G2F works also not good in all cases because of the hip/thigh area if it comes to pants and panties, as it is known.

  • I have quite good luck, but I'm sure it depends on the morphs you use.  There are things that have trouble.  Some things have workarounds, some do not.  This is always the case when working with models, especially when you do custom characters.  If you're working with animations, you have more to contend with, but with illustrations, there are always ways to get around things.

well someone in another thread meant he is happy because he has to fix less than he had to fix using V4, the experience I have made until now is, I have to fix much more than with V4.

Cosmo I have been using V4 since she first came out in 2006.  You need to write a tutorial about your techniques to make perfect fitting clothes easliy for her.

That's got my vote... I dropped V4 off the nearest ledge when I discovered that I could get better results out-of-the-box with G2F and Autofit than I could with morphs designed for a specific V4 character. I'm even workiing on converting my V4 library to G3F. That's not going as well as I'd like, but too early to give up on them just yet.

My experience? G3F behaves better than her previous incarnations, and G2F is night-and-day better than V4 at her best.

quite simple, buy the right clothes. 3D-Age for example

on shirts (tank tops and strap tops) and the problem with v4 armpits/shoulders if v4 shoulders/arms are posed down, add a d-former to the chest for chest-sides via x-scale.

that is what I am talking about, most V4 clothes I have, have so much adjustment and styling morphs you can quite easily fit them to nearly every pose in a view seconds. The clothes for g3f I have bought until now have not a quarter of these morphs (if they have adjustment morphs at all)

So, take a look at my site and tell me where I can find these "right clothes" that suit my style.

The gaps were there on all clothing for all the generations of figures I have used.  Clothing is polygons, the figure is polygons, when you have polygons on top of polygons there needs to be a small amount of offset otherwise you get rendering anomalies.  The gap is usually only about a half centimeter based on DS scale, not the 1 to centimeters you are claiming, and that is what I am seeing in your image, a 1/2 centimeter gap if that.

There is a very good reason most genesis 1/2/3 clothes fit further away from the body than V4 clothes: Mesh smoothing/collision.  Properly modeled clothes have the edges turned under so they look 3D, the thinner that turn over is without being a single plane the more realistc it looks >but< the thinner it is the closer the inside polys are to the outside polys.  That's not a big deal until you introduce the mesh smoothing/collision which is pretty much required if you want your clothes to fit on all the available character morphs (existing and future and custom dialed).  The auto morphig is very good but it's not 100% perfect so often times you'll get an area where the clothing elde gets too close to the skin and the collision detection causes the inside him polys to be pushed forward through the front polys.  It also can happen with a lot of poses even on the unmorphed figure.  Some of us spend a lot of time adding adjustment morphs to counter this in problem areas, but not nearly enough do.  But even with the adjustment morphs the clothes have to fit a wide enough range of characters in all poses to the limits of their joint rotation so Genesis clothes are modeled a little further away fromthe body and with slightly wider edge turn overs so less end-user manual adjustent is required.

Then there are the people who do it close and snug and it looks great but only works properly on a handful of morphs that are included, and those that do it close up but it has those issues explained above so it doesn't pass Daz' regorous QA so they sell it another site with less picky requirements for overall performance.
