I'm going to describe a feature Poser has, does DAZ have something equivalent?

Say I have a figure in one of the various crouching poses that comes with most mainstream figures (M3/4/5), and I want to make them do the same crouch, but higher. To do this with poser, I just enable IK on the legs and y-translate the hip. Done. I cannot seem to figure out how to do this with DAZ. IK doesn't really change anything (frankly, I don't even know what IK in DS does), and the "lock" options do not actually lock the objects in space.

Does DS have some kind of similar process?

    Select the Active Pose tool.
Select each foot and press the space bar to pin it in place.
    Now move the hip.

Yes, Daz as a similar function.

    How i do it:

    - Select the foot in the viewport
    - Click on the "pin" and check "translation" in the menu
    - If you move the hip the foot will stay (until you move it to far then the foot will point at the its original location)

Maybe this is also a solution for your issue.

EDIT: Sorry forgot to mention this menu only shows when you have the universal tool selected in in the tools menu (use it by default).
