was it flying in a figure 8 search pattern?  i may have seen the same one. :)

sees black hawks and sea hawks by the MacArthur airport.

Living in Pensacola, you must be able to see all kinds of aircraft. Isn't that the main Marine Air Station?

iz on south shore of Long Island.  Coast Guard barracks are a couple of bridges away,   Lighthouse, i forget the name.   went with the bubby one time, back when i was still driving.  we both came home with tickes on us.  eeek

I live nearer to the Robert Sauron Beach lighthouse... the one with the big fiery eyeball on the top... its the one located on the part of Fire Island thats not always on fire... this one:

Also very nice!  I am a bit worried about that lighthouse, though.  Maybe we should gather the hobbits!

Morning. Caught up in a huge traffic jam with a mob of orange-beaked seagulls sqwawking loud as a heavy metal band caught in  cab-rocking wind gusts like tumbling orange and grey rag dolls alongside the freeway bridge jammed with horse floats and all kinds of flash limos heading for the race track.

What a way to start the day! indecision

Almost time to go get my bus ticket!  And there's a Mexican place up the road, so it's going to be Mexican, yum!

They packed up all the hardware and are shrink-wrapping it Friday, and I'm on target for hand-over on Friday.  Then, project end party time! laugh

Day four of my great purge... Being a McGyver (in real life that's been a given nickname of mine because I fix stuff and cobble stuff together to make other stuff) and a bit of a McPackrat (nothing to do with the seasonal McDonalds BBQ rat meat sandwich), I'm always saving cool (to me) defunct machines, devices and hunks of metal, plastic and wood. I've been storing them in a big shed outside, which I finally decided to purge... I decided that the field mouse colony living in the old electric stove had to move since they haven't paid rent in over fives years... I was going to use it to make a powder coating oven, but I finally decided I'm not putting in a 240 volt line just for that nonsense, especially when I never powder coat anything anyway... In case you are wondering, powder coating is an alternative to painting... You take something (usually metal) and give it a static charge, dust or spray it with a paint powder (of which you have many material choices... Epoxy, acrylic, PVC, polyurethane etc.) the powder clings to the surface, and in most cases gets into nooks and crannies normal paint won't and coats the surface evenly as well... you then take that powder coated item and bake it at a temperature high enough to melt the powder into an even liquefied coating... And when you cool it, you should have a superior finish... Only, thats if done properly, it should result in a finish superior to paint... But these days it's so common, many times you'll find that means lower standards and poor finishes... But anyway, I'm done with the idea, I just use a spray gun and good quality paint... But that whole decision led to a cascade of throwing out and dismantling of stuff... I've been stripping stuff of hardware, useful parts and fittings... Did you know, if you reconfigure it correctly, you can turn an old refrigerator or air conditioner compressor into a super quiet airbrush compressor? Yeah, it works great and for some reason I saved three huge ACs for that reason... Will I ever use a huge medical centrifuge? No, not for anything unevil... Ba-bye... A huge old gym quality step machine geared so you could probably crank over a Wright Cyclone engine with it... Scrapped that... Will I ever use a pot belly stove from 1889? No, but that I'm keeping...   Well, I'm almost done with it, but now at least I have enough room to store other things in there.  I should probably go back out there before it rains and put away anything I don't want to rust.... So tired though...

Morning. City streets and towers and concrete and steel freeway interchanges soft lit and glowing under an iron overcast airbrushed blue in parts and glowing red and yellow in others from not quite extinguished night time neon signs spruiking gay to workaday grey a little after dawn :)
