To me, they look very heavily inspired by the Fallout franchise.

That's what I was going to say, too.

    It's 100% Fallout.

  • Has Daz just added ELs to these?

I've looked at the Collapse sets before & never noticed the EL.

Using web.archive.org, it was already there in 2024.

it's a shame they stopped applying it because I often have no idea if stuff is

I am not particularly against stuff being based on other IPs

    just not knowing it is

    Well.  THIS aged poorly.

Would you care to explain why I am being criticised, rather than expecting me to guess? I am not aware of any recent release with an Editorial licence in the store that contradicts what I said (I have just gone and been back through the last ten days of releases, none of which have an editorial licence that I can see), and my assessment was in any case not presented as a hard statement that the licence would never return, just that all indications were that it was unlikely (as I elaborated on in my next post only a few hours later) - and indeed, the full context of what I said was about how a new release NOT having a licence didn't seem particularly odd, not that a new release definitely never would again.

The examples you have posted have had Editorial Licences since their release.
Charlie Judge notes them as having editorial releases here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/8819421/#Comment_8819421 - on August 5th, the same day that the Read-Me pages list as the product release https://docs.daz3d.com/public/read_me/index/101000_101999/101987/start

Their existence in no way contradicts an assessment I made in March 2025 that it seemed like Editorial licences were no longer being given to new releases.

On the subject of editorial licences, reading the blurb on the site, I've come to the conclusion that for renders, there is no restriction on use, the restriction comes into play when you start 3D modelling. Is that correct or have I not understood it properly?

There are restrictions for renders too, this content generally can't be used for commercial purposes.

While that might be a reasonable assumption, the editorial clauses are very distinctly a sub-clause under the Three Dimensional Works portion of the licence (which relates to content creation) and no equivalent appears under the Two Dimensional Portion of the licence (which is what relates to rendering).

By my "I am not a lawyer" reading, this would strictly mean that those clauses only apply to Three Dimensional Works (such as not actually being allowed to add shape support for Donnie 9 to any clothing you plan to sell, as that would constitute a commercial derivative), and do not actually have any legal bearing on what may be rendered with them.

I am pretty sure this is an error and is not "Rules As Intended", and I would generally advise that people do use Editorial Content with care anyway, but although I've brought it up multiple times, Daz have yet to revise it.
