I have also used:
Shape Splitter | Daz 3D
To split the G8 body and head apart on the G9 platform. TD
Yes, and there's also another method which is shown in a video on YouTube
https://youtu.be/XuQwnTd4Fok
For the head/body split process, you can also use my free script available here.
Discussion thread : https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/617476/character-splitter
I have tried this some months ago, but it turned to a nightmare.
The shape of G9 is very different from G8F, the figure is shorter and smaller and so when I clean the morph
from the head, I get a really long giraffe neck, it's hillarius!
Left : My girl Anayia for G8F | Right: Anayia's Head on G9 (at last )
Is there any way to thank you somehow?

@BubbleCloud, glad to know you found it useful. It reminds me that I still haven't released it on main sites.
Oh, they keep deleting my image, I'm including a link. :)
Link removed
Your script works like a charm and it's really very handy :D
Do you have DeviantArt page maybe?
The image will keep being removed until it adheres to the forum guidelines - which does not include pasting stars over the nipples.
Thanks for feedback, good to see happy users.
I have no DeviantArt page, I'll release my script on Rendo & ShareCG, hopefully in the first days of june.
The G9 body is not female, why the nipples are a problem?
You should!
Does it work on G9 too? Does it split all generations?
It looks female enough that we need to err on the side of caution.
@BubbleCloud, yes, it works on all generations
This has proved to be very useful, thank you Catherine.
The application I have used it for is with getting additional clothes for the very elderly Victoria 3 based 'Glamorous Vickie' model by Jim Burton. It's a very non- standard morph and few clothes fit. I have found that by converting the figure to Triax Weight Mapping, then adding an obj file of V3 in the default pose and Blackhearted's GND2 as clones, then most rigged V3 & GND2 clothing fits.
And I couldn't have done it without you.
Many, many thanks.
Will be doing the same with GND2 and trying it with A3 and Jim Burton's Ingenue Vickie too.
Regards,
Richard
You're most welcome. Happy it's found a good home over there :-)

Thanks for dedicating your time in the creation of tutorials for Daz Studio, I will go there and get the tutorial and try it.
<3 Thanks my dear mysterious woman, out of nowhere you assisted me before, when I started using Daz Studio.
I do still need to grasp the know-how, because in the graphics jungle is easy to get into the labyrinth with no way out in sight.
You're quite welcome. There are a lot of things that can be done with Daz Studio, always something available to be discovered :-)
I finally decided to try your tutorial. I'm another of those "If I can do it anyone can" people, too. I don't have much G9 but have picked up most of the freebies, so I figured "Why not?" The base clothing autofits easily. The Dancing Queen that was free a few months ago and the Angie dForce top (from the set that is a "permanent resident" of the weekly freebies) also worked. I haven't tried simulating it yet. Unfortunately, the Angie jeans don't get anywhere near G8F's legs. I thought only the top was dForce but I might be wrong.
If you are referring to: https://forum.daz3d.com/dforce-angie-cuffed-jeans-outfit-for-genesis-9
Yes those jeans are intended for dForce. I haven't worked with them yet let alone tried to revert them to G8 so I don't know why [yet] they aren't anywhere near G8F's legs. I'll load them up and see what happens over here.
Okay, [note to self, installing products aids greatly in being able to find and use them] ... I loaded the jeans. Then I loaded G9. The jeans were made to land perfectly on G9, good so far. Deleted G9 [loading G9 is not required to use the clones, I was just checking that the jean mesh was loading where it needs to be].
So in scene had jeans, then loaded G8Female. Right-clicked on the jeans, asked for fit to G8F, from the dialog options, selected the clone 9 I had made, I did not select which type of garment it was. [Doing so shouldn't adversely affect anything but it does bring into play work by other people and I was wanting to check the clone.] As the jeans appear to fit perfectly, the clone appears to be working fine.
I just loaded G8F then jeans and tried to autofit with the G9 clone - I bet that was my problem. I will try it your way. Thanks for helping me with the outfit.

Are you still planning to make G9 clones for earlier generations? I still use a lot of G3.
Yes, once made, the actual autofit clones are not used on their own for anything. They are used in the background by the program inside the autofit dialog. If for any reason anybody's clone is not showing up there, double-check what 'type' of morph it had been assigned. [hint, it is not a shaping morph]
I am not releasing any clones for G9; the tutorial for how to make the G9 clone for G8 should be pretty much the same as for G3. Just swap out the G8 with G3 in the instructions.
For those wanting the clones Mattymanx has a set: https://www.daz3d.com/mmx-genesis-9-clones-for-all
eta: And then I remembered the "A" "T" poses ... after one has converted G9's clothing to G8. Save the clothing [new name/folders/etc]. Clear scene, load G3 -- load the G8 converted clothing; use the appropriate clone in G3's autofit dialog for G8 in T pose [or whatever I called it]
The A <=> T autofit clones are still available where I had put them. [Renderosity/DeviantArt/links in forum] Links Retired ;-)
I think (I might accidentally have bought something that helps me in the process) you don't need any addons or weird constructions to use G9 clothing on G8/8.1 characters. I did it yesterday and it came out find (did have to check for some morphs, but that isn't different from G9 clothing on G9 characters either). I do have the cross-figure converter active on G8 though, which makes it easier to shift the character to the right sex/gender.
I might make a short video for it today and put it on Youtube. In addition to the tutorial with the clones, I guess it might give people more options.
--- Edit ---
Seems I have a Genesis 9 CS when loading G9 wardrobe on G8/8.1 option. Which might come from some 'Fit Control' or Clothes conversion tool though.
