Thank for your follow-up. I just want to be clear before I spend money and a coupon buying 6 of these products. I know there is a return policy, but I would like to avoid that for my sake and the sake of the PA.
You used a bone minion product to do those transfers and saved them as a standard DS pose preset (if they were special enough) and later when you used them on a new figure in a new scene they maintained all the changes you made with bone minion and your personal adjustments.
Yup I used the Bone minion to use other generations poses to the generation I am using ,then when I find a pose that I like , I delete the bone minion ,make any adjustments that I want , then sometimes I use "bake to transforms" if I've used any pose controls for my adjustments ,then save as a Pose preset . I have all of the Bone Minions and love the fact that I can use ALL of the poses I have .

Yes, it will work. Once a pose is on the target figure, there is nothing special about it. You *may* have to turn off limits on the figure when you apply the pose preset later though.
Thank you. It might seem obvious to some people, but I find explicit is better than implicit. As for the limits thank you for the reminder about turning them off. I did read that in several places of the threads and you mention it in your demo video. I think it was emphasized for V4/M4 because they have more restricted limits than the Genesis figures, but overall a good practice before any pose conversion.

,I just really love the Bone Minions ,oh and he is right don't forget to use the "Turn Off Limits" that's included for all the generations ,otherwise you can get little weird funkiness ,like fingers that bend sideways .....

Hi! I recently restarted using G2F (Stephanie 6) thanks to a thread in the Commons, and during two different sessions I ran into a problem using Bone Minion for Genesis 8 Female on Stephanie 6: It didn't work. I loaded Bone Minion, turned off limits on Stephanie 6, selected Bone Minion, applied the G8F pose, and Bone Minion moved, but Stephanie 6 didn't.
In both cases, I then loaded the Generation 4 Bone Minion (V4), applied a pose to it, and Stephanie 6 assumed the pose. So, there was no glitch in principle, only specific to two different G8F poses for two different scenes. Has anyone heard of a similar issue?
It could have been it didn't touch the hip bone. Did you then execute the Bone Minion - Apply Changes script?

I'm running DAZ studio 4.24.0.3 in Rosetta 2 on a Mac studio with Sequoia 15.5 as the main OS. If I try to apply a bone minion script onto a character, Daz studio quits. Is anyone else having this issue with this version of studio, running in Rosetta 2 with the main OS being sequoia 15.5?
More importantly, can anyone confirm that bone minion works on that type of setup?

I opened on my MacMiniM4 Pro with Sequoia 15.5, 64GB, and I opened D|S 4.24.0.3 loaded G9 Base. Found a G8M pose, then from the Bone Menu in Favorites Selected G8Ms Minion to be added to G9 and it was successful. Selected the Bone Minion in the Scene pane, and clicked on the G8M pose, the minion moved into position and D|S crashed a second later. Here is the bit of the log file where the Bone Minion started to crash:

Unfortunately, the crash report doesn't help me. So you too have issues on the Mac. I wonder does it not work on any Mac or this configuration?
Okay, back at my computers. On my MacBook Pro M2, 16GB, on D|S 4.24.0.3 I had to reinstall my scripts that had been stripped off of Favorites (again). I opened the manual also. I also made sure my preferences in D|S are to set to 'Always turn limits off'. I loaded G9 Base but I used the script in Bone Minion to double-check limit were off too. Applied the Minion for G8M and the selected the minion in Scene tab, and clicked on my pose for G8M. Minion moved. I then watched and G9B moved into that pose. No crash.
I opened the MacMiniM4 and had to reinstall the scripts onto favorites again. Loaded G9 Base, used the Bone Minion script to turn off limits, then selected the G8M Bone Minion and applied it to G9B. Selected the Minion and applied a G8M pose and watched as the minion moved into a pose, and then G9B moved into the pose.
I have highlighted the key thing I did not do in the first test. @inquire, look at the steps I did and see if you are doing the same. Also, did you install the Bone Minion scripts into your Favorites? My biggest error is always using my left button on the mouse. You need to use the right button on the mouse for the .dsa action. Doesn't matter what script by any PA I will crash. I always forget this. Smack my head and then try again. With Macs we get to reinstall our scripts a lot unfortunately. Not the PAs' fault, it is DAZ and they are working on it in the Alpha.

P.S. Your stocking stuffer to load characters is such a life saver for me. I send you thanks every day for them.
I actually put the script into the scripts menu. I just pulled down to the bone minion that I want and click to apply that to the character. Should I delete the scripts from the script menu and just have them in the favorites menu?
Also, I want to apply the bone minion to one or more of my characters, not to the G9 base. That wouldn't help me much.
@memcneil70: you've really helped me a great deal with your comments. I loaded just the base Genesis 9 figure, turned off limits, And DAZ did not crash. I applied the poses I wanted to the bone minion, and saved each pose. Then I loaded in, in another file, the characters I wished to work with, and applied the saved poses to them. That works! Of course, it's not the same thing as just readily applying A Pose. Now there's a folder of new poses.
Other than this issue with the Scripts, DS4 does seem to be working pretty well.
Do the scripts work at all in the alpha version of DS?
That I would hesitate to answer. The PAs are dealing with moving from QT4 to QT6 and right now Alpha is not yet settled into place. If you read the Alpha thread you will see some of the discussions. V3Ditigtimes' Commercial threads are also addressing this too. As is Code66/Totte. I have installed simple Code66 scripts to favorites, but they do not work. But I am testing to see if they will stay in favorites from one version to another. What you can do in the Alpha now is work in Filament/Filatoon. But plugins and scripts use, you need DS 4.24.0.3. So plan to use both versions by saving your scene file and open and close in the version that has the tools you need. If you had a Windows computer with an RTX 5xxx card, the Alpha would be your only choice. (I really recommend reading the Alpha thread, I am not a programmer and do not have a technical understanding of all the issues, but I do understand that upgrading programs/computers does give fits to everyone involved. I can be patient.)
But we should take further discussion back to the Mac thread so we don't hijack the Bone Minion thread.

Daz Studio 2025 is a nightmare for me. Some basic things changed that I always used and I am spending a lot of time trying to figure out what to do.
What you just quoted is what Mary did with DS4.24.0.3. I don't think the scripts will work at all in DS 2025.

in the alpha version of DS, page 4, One of the posters says that neither bone minion nor prop minion work in DS 2025. But I don't think it's just these two products. I think this is pretty much the case for scripts at present in the alpha DS 2025.
So I'm pretty much sure that what Mary Posted about getting bone minion to work was in DS4.24.0.3. I got bone minion to work there by following her procedures, loading just a base G9, making sure that limits were turned off, and then applying the bone minion. After that, I applied a series of poses I wanted, saved each pose, and then close that file.
At that point, I had a folder of G9 poses. I applied a pose to a G9 Character in a new file, and touched it up, and then resaved it so that it was what I really wanted.
She also talked about DS2025 in the next post. I was replying to both. The bone minions do not work in DS 2025. Most of my scripts don't. I am working to port them but it is taking months.

No problem at all.
I uninstalled and then reinstalled DS4.24.0.3 to see if I could get the bone minion products to apply without as studio crashing. I can now get them to apply, but when I try to apply a pose to the bone minion, I get a dialogue box saying that the "conversion constants" cannot be found. Please see the first file.
When I search for these, I do find them on the hard drive within Daz studio in the data folder. Please see the second file. The third file shows the conversion files and again their location.
But I don't understand what to do now. Do I have to uninstall all of the bone minion products and then reinstall them?
I could not see from the second or third image that RSG9PoseConversionConstants.dsa was in the data/RiverSoft Art/Common/Pose Converters but since a lot of them were, I am going to assume it is in there. The real question, is that directory listed in the Daz Studio Formats section of the Content Directory Manager? DS concatenates that data/RiverSoft Art/Common/Pose Converters with the root directories specified in the Content Directory Manager. Here is my Content Directory Manager:
So Daz expects to find the files in D:/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library/data/RiverSoft Art/Common/Pose Converters or D:/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/data/RiverSoft Art/Common/Pose Converters. Does it contain your root directory?
