Looks good to me. Did DAZ provide no feedback or specific reason/s for the rejection? If so that's pretty discourteous. I don't know but maybe that's how they operate.

Hi fred9803.  I don't know if I might get in trouble for showing exactly what they sent to let me know that it was denied this time but, it was a one liner always.  I submitted the item and then I waited a couple of weeks, and it was like,

It was miss-spelled and said something like, "I will be submitting your items to the team this week, and do you have anything else you would like to submit such as any designs, WIPs or ideas?"

Then I got another with an additional few words of appology saying sorry for the late reply.

And then finally, "sorry we will have to pass on your application as it doesn't line-up with the products we sell at DAZ.  Please feel free to try again in the future." Or words to that effect.  I felt like someone had punched me in the stomach!  I suffer anyway with depression so I just lay down for a while, and my wife asked me what was wrong... anyway, no big deal I guess, but I just hate for others to go through that same thing.

Honestly, I was hoping your earlier post would lead to a Project Runway derail, I love that show. And RuPaul's Drag Race.. and Americas Next Top Model and... yeah you get the point, I'm a sucker for reality fashion (or fashion adjacent) shows wink That book you mentioned sounds very interesting too, I've added it to my reading list.

Anywho, speaking of plagiarism... there's a lovely word for a Saturday... what if I submitted my ideas, designs and finished product pictures and they were some how funneled off to some external source elsewhere on the planet?  We have no NDA that protects us as PA applicants?  Wouldn't it make us all so unpleasently sad if we found our brand-spanking new product ideas were being developed elsewhere, soemwhere where we have no control over what they do with our propery?  I was asked for any ideas, designs or work in processusses that I might be working on to submit with my PA Application?  I diligently did submit them, if not a little scepticle about the request from "The Team".  Has anyone else had that request too?  Hmmm.... just saying cheeky

That's a rule for Daz PAs now. As usual, Sickleyield provides the lowdown:

Um. "It doesn't line up with the products we sell" is feedback. They're basically saying it's fine, it's just not their style. Which says to me that it doesn't matter how you presented it or how well it's made. They just don't think it fits their brand. It's not personal. It's just not a good fit for DAZ. If that kind of rejection is too painful for you, then you really shouldn't try to be a PA here. Renderosity might be more your speed. They will generally take anything decent that works, because they have a different approach to their brand.

I'm curious... were the attached images you had throughout this thread were the ones you sent to DAZ for a submission?  Along with your other ideas or wip images.

Did you send them anything else besides this car? My suggestion would be to send renders of several different models to showcase what you can do and your capibilities (car, other props, environments etc...).

Here's another one that was part of my last rejection a few days ago.  I pointed out that it was just a work-in-progress WIP which it will be for a while, maybe indefinately now LOL.  It is a float plane from England that won the Shneider Trophy back in the 30s.  It was the predecessor to the Supermarine Spitfire which was pretty popular back in day smiley  Its just a super-rough render from DAZ.  It is not finished in any way shape or form including being textured or rigged.

I would definitely buy this plane, especially if it allowed the removing of the underwing floats too.

With the help of the three Nurnies Greebles sets I recently bought I could make it the perfect plane for my Steampunk world.

Yes, they were all sent to them for the PA Application.

Superbe work. I can't imagine people not buying this or not knowing what to do with the model. I see lots of oppertunities like space racing cars on Mars or a superhero chasing the bad guy in his ultrasonic car. Lots of stories to tell. In like the unusual shape. I think that it is very original.

Hi neosou;3d, you are a good soul!  Thank you so much for your kind words.

Given the amount of submissions we receive, no, we can't offer specific feedback (which we say at the time of review).

If we were to give feedback on every application, it would require a full time position to maintain, and I don't know of any other industry in the creative arts who would give feedback like you're suggesting.

Jack Tomalin is an AWESOME guy at DAZ.  I have 100 percent respect for your opinions as you are a total God!  I absolutely love your models here, and have been collecting them over the years.

there are those who create assets to sell.

There are those who create works of art.

The latter does not always sell well hence the term Starving Artist.
Looking at your model, it is a work of art.\

Maybe make a movie or comic featuring it and sell that.

    Just my 2cents.

If you made the car with a bubble hood and made it amphibious it would work under water. Needs rotors or propellers. It could also be a flying car just get rid of wheels and make it a flying car. This vehicle is not that appealing with the wheels. There area plenty of free vehicles with wheels. If you are dead set on wheels sell it at renderosity.

I think after you taking things out here publicly the chance of your work being reconsidered is getting slimmer and it might hurt your chance to become a PA. Not to be sarcastic, if your promos show a hunk driving the vehicle amidst a shower of missiles with explosions everywhere, or a babe wearing skimpy outfit holding her helmet leaning against the vehicle in some reaaaally suggestive poses with a dawn/sunset backdrop, your product might already have been given the approval. I guess your promos need to cross sell other products in this store. You know dreams sell and @#% sells. It's sad, but true. I know my words could sound a bit harsh so my apology in advance.

I think the Daz folks had their reasons to pass. It's a very strange design and the interior looks uncomfortable. Not that the Blue Mamba car referenced earlier is actually better. That has geometry, scale and design problems. People in the thread here gave you a lot of feedback. I agree that you should try this car somewhere else. Then move on! The Court of Public Opinion is not going to get your car in the Daz store, and there are only so many ways people can tell you the same things.

This thread does seem to have run its course, with all angles thoroughly explored.
