ROFL I think the Wolf wins!

I only have 33 pages here, but more at Rendo and RDNA, and I thought I had a lot. Clearly I'm one of the babies in the grand scheme of things. o_O

You know you have too much content when:

    - You fill up a 2 terabyte hard drive
    - Content Manager displays "Error - brain full - I quit"
    - You only remember the last 10 things you downloaded

    :bug: :ahhh: :gulp:

I run into this a lot. I'm always forgetting what I've got, and when I'm browsing the store, I'm like 'oh! that's awesome! must have!', and then I either log in or go to the product's actual page and see a fat ass PURCHASED. :long:

I've done that more than a few times... :red: :red:

I only have 5 pages of content here.. but my Rendo and RDNA product lists go on and on and on... :bug:

I live and die by the SEARCH function... :red:

I just checked, 46 pages. But I'm sure it'll go up next month. The pc sale usually make some offers you can't refuse.

I only have six pages of content in my DAZ Product Library. However, the vast majority of my content is freebies, mainly from ShareCG.com, so that's to be expected. I couldn't even tell you how much i got from there.

49 pages for me, too, and the first thing I got was your Jeweled Finery. I think it was the first freebie after I joined. I still use it.

    Greetings,
    Why?!?

Why did you make me look?

93 pages here, 573 items at 'rosity. (235 of them were Prime items, thankfully.)

And I've only been doing this since early 2012. I'll just nip off to the DAZ-a-holics thread over yonder... :-/

    Edit:

And yes, too much content means not enough brain to remember what you have, because we all have limited brain. Wait, does that mean that I have more wallet than brain? Hrm...yes, yes it probably does. :(

On the flip side, my wife asked if I could do a scene with X, Y, and Z, and after about 15 minutes, I confirmed that yes, I had every piece necessary. Search is good, but not always enough...

"Is there such a thing as too much content?"

Yes there is! It's what DAZ has in their warehouses. Too much content. They are bursting at the seams. And since their warehouses are built on thin ice they are in danger of sinking from the sheer weight of all that content.

That's why they're having sales all the time. Try as they might, they can't seem to make much of a dent in the volume of content filling their warehouses.

A while ago they had a fire and burned down the warehouse with all the really old content. But the heat left a hole in the ice that the old time DAZzers wander into once in a while.

The message here is "buy buy buy", before the DAZ warehouses sink of their own weight not only through the ice but through the mantle into the Earth's core.

Oh, so I'm not Abby Normal.

I've only got 87 pages--some 70+Gig--of stuff from here (with about the same amount combined from the rendos, turbosquid, little dragon, etc)

Although, I do sometimes need a sedagive.

    I only have 83.

    I'm a piker! A mere dilettante!

And for the record, the answer to the original question is 'no'.

That's why I now have a total of 13 terabytes of storage. (Yeah, I'm a storage-whore; what's your point?) And I'm within an hour of adding even more.

When those suckers are full, then yeah, you can say that I will have "too much content". But until then...!

Nope, I haven't reach content overload yet.

But that's just those three sites :)

136 pages for me - and very little from rendo, a bit more from sharecg.

  • edited December 1969

I have 44 pages of content from Daz, and I don't know how many items from Rendo and RDNA. I have at least triple the amount of my paid items in freebies, though. And I have many self-made content items as well, that have never been publically shared for one reason or another.

I do not think there is such a thing as too much content. As long as the content you have is largely in use and useful to you, there is no such thing as too much content. This is a hobby where each person's libraries are completely individual. My program will look ery different from yours, based on what I have installed, just as yours will be very different from someone else's. We install what we find usefuln according to what we use and what sort of art we practice. That is all.

I have not yet even come close to filling up a 1TB drive with content, but I do have many burned cds and dvds with very old legacy content going as far back as the Poser 4 people, so who knows. =) I do keep a second 1TB hd specifically for backing up my runtime libraries though... just in case the unthinkable ever happens again (hard drive failure), and have not yet even come close to filling that, either.

Too much content? What's this foreign concept you refer to? Surely it's not from this world! LOL

    It's addictive, isn't it? :)
Makes it REALLY hard when shopping because they don't have a "purchased" button on the gallery page. But I don't think I would trust that to be correct during a really good sale anyway. I'd have a niggling feeling I was losing out if I didn't click on the product and check. BUT..
is there anything in the works to get something like that? It's a real pain to have to click on each product to see if it's been purchased.
