After mulling over my options, I finally bit the bullet and updated to DazToBlender Bridge 2024 v2.17.107; still using DAZ Studio 4.21 Pro.
It didn't solve the problem, but it did at least make it a solveable problem. The scaling issue persists, but at least the genitals aren't being ripped off of the character's body. The character imports properly into Blender, however it always comes in at 100 percent scale, even if it's not that scale in DAZ Studio. For example, if my character is 50 percent scale in DAZ, it comes in at full size in Blender. But then if I dial up a morph that overlaps the vertices of the geograft, it causes the figure to shrink by 50 percent. Some kind of weird hierarchy issue? I don't know. But it's solveable by just exporting the character at 100 percent and then scaling them down in Blender.
The only problem I'm noticing now is that apparently the new exporter does some funky things with the normals and smoothing angles. This was easy enough to fix (deleted custom split normals from Geometry Data, and cleared sharp edges in Edit Mode), but it's still weird.
hi there. i am currently, very slowly, learning how to use blender. i installed the daz bridge via de DIM but when i try it on daz in the scripts option thingy, nothing happens. daz is installed in the default installation path and i assume the bridge is too. do i have to change anything? i want to start moving my scenes to blender and render there because it looks better and renders faster
Hi there!
I use the newest version of DAZ (4.24) and Blender (4.4.3)
I'm new with Blender and so it is with the bridge to it.
I've installed the bridge via DIM, find it in DAZ, but don't find it in Blender. There is an explanation how to activate the bridge/importer in blender, but that dosn't work.
The Add Ons in Blender had been (re) organized newly, so I think the mentioned explanation needs an update.
Can anybody help me so far)
