well since you edited the thread
yes ... I avoid looking at my orders page now
Wendy: you can turn that feature off. In fact, it's off by default.

I did the same about a year ago. Totally regretted it ;)

I need it on to remind me sometimes before filling my cart
same here. I saw my total about 2 yrs ago and decided I need to find a commercial way to recoup some of that money.
Funny, I added up what I payed for in some other hobbies over last year and didn't feel so bad. ($1600 in VR (equipment and software), $2000 in shooting (guns, ammo and range fees) and $2400 in golf (equipment and coursefees/memberships), LOL)
Ah, but work out your percentage spend vs "value" - doesn't that make you happier?
My spend vs Full Price Value is 1.53% - now doesn't that look good?
Even my spend vs Current Value (which represents the store price in all the sales now on) is 11.45%
(yes I realise I am completely in denial that I have a problem with spending here...)
It would be interesting if there were a way to see the total money spent on everything alongside the total money spent on assets actually being used.

Oh I didn't say I haven't spent too much! I just like to look on the bright side

I've spent way more money on musical equipment than I've ever made in a single year, which helps me not feel bad about my Daz spending.
More fun sometimes than actually using any of it - that's the big problem for me! One day I'll render every item in my library (I used to be able to almost keep up but it gets harder
)
Reminds me of a quote from George Best, an international football (soccer) player.
"I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I squandered."
The first sentence can be modified to suit your hobbies. If you enjoyed it, it isn't wasted, so don't worry.
Regards,
Richard.
How do you turn it on and view it?
pour yourself a stiff drink and make sure you are sitting down before Ati replies

In the browser addon ( https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/106296/announcing-daz-deals-browser-add-on/p1 ) go to the options page by clicking the addon's icon in the browser, enable the "Total Spent & Total Value Owned" feature, then head over to the Orders page.
Honestly, I was shocked whe n I first switched that feature on
. Seems I got carried away in some of the sales. Is it wasted? Depends. Do you like creating renders in DAZ? If no, then the money is wasted. If yes, then the money is spent well. Regardless what hobby you choose, it will always be for a price. The hobby I love most is way more expensive - my spouse
.
I expected my total to be crazy, but it was perfectly within the amount I thought it would be (I mean, it was a lot, but less than my collectibles hobby). My hobbies make me happy. I feel I could do sooo much worse.
Hey, wait til you get to where I am, just 7 pages away from 700 pages in my Content Library. :p It's pretty crazy if you go by "full price value" or even "current value but those are ridiculously inflated given that those include full price for mountains of freebies and who knows how many items bought in various DAZ sales for literally pennies on the dollar. What really matters is the actual "total amount spent" divided over how long you've been buying from DAZ, which in my case is since January of 2005. So, even though by Full Price Value I have over one and a half million dollars (yes, million) worth of product, my monthly spending has averaged out at less than what people spend for a lot of hobbies, sports and creative endeavors, especially ones that require special gear like skiing, photography. music, etc, let alone collecting antiques or art...
Unfortunately, it's not useful for me any more, because of one of those things where the current price is $1 million, which throws everything out of whack.

Where is this on / off switch
How do you manage all of that content. I'm approaching a hundred pages and I'm getting close to filling up two terabytes.
NO because it would probably show that while I imagine I have used 10 percent of my purchases, the actual use percentage is even lower than that!
