I've watched some clips of it on Youtube lately, so I know how most of the epic deaths happen etc. Poor Oberyn Martell.... Poor Theon, holy cow! The things I did like from the small samples I've seen are the dialogue and the character interaction. There are many good, non-violent scenes where the characters' personalities play up against each other, and it's brilliant. It's probably even better when you "know" the characters. That's encouraging to me as an aspiring writer, because that's something I really enjoy writing myself. (And what I'm best at, according to feedback. I don't plot good?) Still, too speculatively violent and exploitative for my tastes. There are other shows I can be wasting weeks binging on, that won't make me feel like I need to go rinse my eyeballs with Holy Water.
The good news is that I don't really know anyone who watches or enjoys GoT because of the violence, they like the show in spite of it.
...still as I understand from what I read, it is still a fantasy soap opera.
go kansas!
efiled my tax, what an ordeal for a site called ez tax.

non complaint refund monies. bring the rain,
Major non-complaint: WOW! I picked up my new M.2 NVMe SSD from the post office this morning, and once I finally got it configured with a clone of the "C:" drive, I turned it off, removed the old "C:" hard drive and booted up again: WOW! Zippy is not the word for it. From the moment I turned on the power to when the login screen was ready was just a couple seconds no 30 second delay, just bing bang boom
. I barely had time to wonder how fast it would be and "boom" there it was! Switching from one user to another is also now pain free. Wheee...
I don't know why I ever hesitated about trying this new M.2 NVMe SSD technology. Now I wish I'd bought the 1TB instead of the 500GB model.
Can't wait to see what it does to my DAZ load times. Happy, happy, happy, ...
YouTube is amazing and scary. Somehow I got sidetracked with my viewings and now YouTube is putting these (
www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDdeq3Sn1ZA and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1fju0Sp-iY ) in my suggestions. I'd almost forgotten about Carmen Miranda. She was a little before my time but I remember seeing some of her old movies on TV when I was a kid in the '50s.
Now I'm thinking does DAZ do Carmen Miranda eyes? Does the DAZ catalog have any Carmen Miranda hats or dresses?
What was so special about Betty Davis Eyes? Carmen Miranda Eyes are way more memorable.
Carmen Miranda & Groucho Marx, priceless.
....yeah got an SSD to replace an HDD in one of my old notebooks that died which I use for my gaming sessions. Big difference and no worry about moving parts being damaged by having it jostled while carrying it around. Looking to replace and old HDD in the render system as prices have really dropped over the years. Not sure that what type of PCIe slot is needed as the two x16 ones are taken by the Titan and a smaller GPU to run the displays, leaving me with an x8 and an x4 slot (all 2.0).
That probably depends on what you think of as a soap. To me the term soap opera makes me think of a show where everything is unrealistically glamourous and glitzy, everyone's attractive (mostly but not always conventionally so) and everything uncomfortable or nasty is glossed over. Basically, a show that's geared towards the most delicate viewers. Game of Thrones is the exact oposite.
...well so much for adding a M2 NAND SSD to replace the old HDD in my render system as the X58 chipset code does not support it for a boot drive, just for storage. So it has to be the standard 2-½" form factor SATA drive. Bugger, as Newegg has several of the M2 NAND drives on sale for 59$. This means I need to find some type of other mounting solution as the only option I have is to use one of the 3-½" or 5- ¾ external drive bays. I have a 2-½" to 5- ¾" adapter but no drive mounting rails as Antec stopped making this case years ago and no longer has spare ones available.
Yeah, I wouldn't have attempted trying the M.2 NVMe SSD if it wasn't for discovering that my new motherboard had two PCIe3.1 M.2 sockets on-board. And when I have an empty socket, an itch comes over me and I want to fill it. I'm still lamenting the fact that my TV has screw-on co-axial cable connectors but I have no TV cable (too expensive) or antenna (no reception) to connect to it, but every other socket has been utilized except for the red & blue component inputs because I had to use the yellow input for standard video from my old VHS recorder. I even found a use for the optic audio output and all the other HDMI and USB sockets. I love catching people glancing persistently at the easily observable back of my TV at all the cables neatly bundled together in a forest of plugs.
i added mysql and php to my webhosted site. i don't know how to php
it's a pain to manually upload an image and then html code it into a page
i want to make it easier to add renders to my private gallery.
found the html code to show mp4s from my gallery.
is the inertial dampeners stops people from going splat when chewie punches the hyper drive?
what comes after hyper drive? hyperthetical drive?
ludicrous speed?
...plaid
I think I need to do a story board instead of lamenting that I still have not gottten my computer back. That way I will have some idea of what to render for the graphic novel I want to write.
12 cores?!
I can tell you why you hesitated. It's the same reason everybody else resists. The old wives' tales of write endurance impact (and especially how fast it happens) is what scares everybody away.
Inertial dampeners keep people and their food from going splat when entering or exiting from hyperspace/warpspace.
Structural Integrity fields are what keep the engine pylons or the saucer "neck" from folding in half during evasive maneuvers.

I keep getting calls for a Ms. Hayes or some similar name. They are threatening the poor gal, but I do not know who she is. All I know it is not me. I did not answer the phone as if my phone does not recognize the number it goes straight to voicemail.
I think it is either a scam trying to scare Ms Hayes or wrong number or a stupid scam to see if the number is real or not?
In either case, not your problem. Ignoring phone calls is the way of things these days.
I've recently started getting calls that I don't answer but they do leave a voice mail message saying that $9.35 has been removed from my Sun Bank account and to call xxx-xxxx if I have questions. Interesting that 30 years ago I had a Sun Bank account in Florida but have moved five times since then and never updated my contact information so I know it's a scam or at minimum a wrong number. Regardless, it's not my problem. Phone ignored. Par for the course.
I've pretty much given up on fiction. After 70 years, one gets jaded over human fiction. Reality is so much more interesting. And surprise! The deeper one delves into it, the weirder, less stable and more interesting it gets. Biologically, psychologically, and physically. The Universe has a bigger imagination.
OMG
