This is an unreasonable sentiment.  Developers need to be allowed to focus on their development activities.  How many times have you taken "just a minute" to respond to an email or a forum thread, and found out that you blew an hour or more just composing your response, and then responding to the next six followup messages, IMs, or phone calls?

If you've never been involved in an open source project, I can see why it would seem "unreasonable" to you that which is just the baseline expectation to those that have. Maybe that's my problem. But believe me, once you've had it, you'll want it everywhere you go.

But you must realize that your desires do not create obligations for others.

that is what SDK FAQ pages are for, the questions get answered when someone gets are to it or you allow user comments if the manual is as bad as PHP

I believe that the closest we're going to get to a Studio user's manual is Richard Haseltine.
I've learned more from him in this forum than all other resources combined.
It would be nice if there was an index just for his replies.

the SDK webpage says the manual is already HTML https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-4-5-sdk

if shouldn't take to long to convert to use a convert to a wiki which allow's user comment\s

you just have to use strip_tags https://www.w3schools.com/php/func_string_strip_tags.asp, and build an array of the plain text which is left from each page

Do you know how old that is?

    Release Date: 2012-08-16

    Much has changed.

    - Greg

ETA: It's also copyrighted and subject to the EULA, with specific notice about re-distribution not being allowed without written permission, etc. - not sure the powers that be would be on board.

Every time I see people asking for developers to get involved in forums and answering questions (see this all the time on game forums), I have to wonder if the person asking has met many professional developers. Off the top of my head, I can name at least a dozen people I've known in my profressional career who were brilliant designers, programmers database gurus, etc., and I wouldn't let the anywhere NEAR a public forum to represent my company. Apart from the time required (which takes away from them working on bug fixes and new releases), many of them just don't have the skills or temprament to be good customer service people as well.

It would totally depend on the person to be honest.

I would not even try and second guess their personalities devil

for all we know some of the developers could be forum regulars under other names or conversely don't do any sort of 3D art at all, we have only seen a couple ever officially post here very terse and to the point.

    some might be long gone

I see DAZ_Spooky for example has not visited the forum since 2016

  • This thread seems to have wandered completel off the original topic, and is now getting into unnecessarily personal speculation. As a result it has been trimmed and is being locked.
