I hate these short burst sales

Having injured my back and being on medication messes up my day already....but then to have a sale that only lasts for a few hours with no indication of start or stop times I hate seeing an active sale and thinking I have some time and then I miss out!!!

Having an indication of start and end time on flash sales would indeed be useful.

There's usually a notice posted in this thread when a flash sale starts, it can help a bit.

I can't help with the end of a sale, but you can get an email notification when a new sale starts: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/106296/announcing-daz-deals-browser-add-on/p1 That way you can see when it started, and that can give you some pointers.

I am mad I did not take enough time to get the biggest gift card I could get. I thought it was almost over so I only got a 5 dollar gift card.  It is cool, but wish the gift card sale lasts longer.

Nah, Any sale is better than no sale; even if I don't get to participate in all of them.

PA festival starts in a few weeks. Keep that in mind! :)

  • What bugs me about the four-hour sale they are having today is that I click on the tab to see what products are offered in the sale and nothing friking happens. There have have two of three four hour sales one after the next I have tried to click on but cannot access no matter which browser i use. Is everyone having this problem or am I doing something wrong somehow? I have no trouble clicking on other ads like Fast grab or freebies, or any of the other sales still going on from before today.

The banners list the PAs whose stuff is on sale. You have to select items from them, and then use the coupon. There have been filters posted around the forum for the different sales to make this easier, but in general, nothing is supposed to happen when you click these banners. You have to select the items from the listed PAs yourself. Just select them all in the artist filter.

  • I love them! I got a few Stonemason sets all for under $5 each, there are some in the FastGrab, and was able to use the %50 off on them. I loaded up on stuff the last day or so.

    Correct.

Flash sales are ridiculous. I have a job and a life and I don't have time to babysit the freakin' Daz's website all day looking for that one flash sale. So Daz missed out on my cash today.

That is THEIR loss, not mine. If they don't want my money, just keep it up then.

And yes I am aware of Daz Deals. It is really amazing what ATI has pulled off and I am very thankful, but I have been on the move all day, driving and other things. Not to mention, the stuff ATI has done should be done by Daz, not a 3rd party.

Plus there are people on the wrong side of the globe who miss out on these kinds of sale simply because they are asleep at the wrong time. Shame on them, I guess? Do I need to point out that this is a globally based store with people around the world shopping here? Steam learned its lesson a long time ago and stopped doing stupid flash sales. Even GOG pulled back from doing stupid flash sales. GOG actually had "Insomnia Sales" which put up new discounts every 2 hours for a WEEK. This did not go over well, AT ALL. The push back was so great that GOG went back and placed every single discount back on sale for the final day or two. Which then made some people mad because they had literally deprived themselves of sleep looking for deals...when they didn't have to. So even GOG learned their lesson.

You can awesome sales without driving your customers crazy. They are called regular sales. Not flash sales.

Obviously Daz has yet to figure this out.

  • a countdown clock appearing on the banner/s would be good, saw that 4 hour sale yesterday clicked it just showed normal sale page figured must be over just haven't updated but it was up all day yesterday and it's still up exactly same today

A countdown clock would be great, I've been caught a few times filling up my cart, flicking back and forth checking on item requirements when all of a sudden the prices revert when i go to check out

*what* banners? I don't even see those; hence my confusion. I am saying when I click on the shop now tab, nothing happens so i cannot see which of the artists' selection are covered and which are not. All i see is the main page; nothing else.

Do you never see the banner carousel at the top of the page when you click on "shop"?

Dude, I have a full time job and a life also and the flash sales are not a problem for me so obviously the issue isn't DAZ

  • Eh... usually there's a big release after these kinds of sales. If I miss the sale, I miss the sale and I spend later.

I'm sure we'll get a new base figure soon.

  • you may be onto something The Blurst Of Times, that does seem to happen don't it. Well we are due for a new Daz character so maybe Wednesday tomorrow or Thursday and there may as you say be some big sale. Three 4 hour banners uo now, one being same one from yesterday and one being a gift card sale which is the only one that takes you to related page the other two just bounces to the main shop page so whether you just gotta go the the vendors page and go through what you like and go pot luck going backwards and forwards on your check out page and entering/re-entering codes codes till you find what items are included of course you maybe too late by the time you've finally narrowed it down or given up

And again we need countdown clocks on each sale

A lot of people do enjoy the flash sales, myself included. If you don't enjoy them, you don't have to participate in them. But the notion that something shouldn't exist just because you, personally, don't like it is just silly. :) No one forces you to take part in a sale. lol

  • The point of flash sales is to get people to spend more time checking in. So whether or not you can actually take part in them, Daz hopes we'll make sure the monitor the site more often. You certainly can just ignore them and wait for the regular sales. I can pretty much guarantee you that the sale prices on any given flash sale item will come around again in short order. :)

It clearly didn't work for Steam and GOG, and if hyperactive gamers aren't staying up for flash sales...I'll just stop there. These sales can be nice...only if you have the opportunity to take advantage of them. People who don't get that chance feel frustrated and left out. How many people need to post that they were loading a cart only to miss the sale by a few minutes because the flash lacks the most basic part of a flash sale...a freakin time frame. Can you imagine if Walmart or Best Buy did not post a time frame for their Black Friday sales? That would cause them all sorts of trouble. Why is it that Daz cannot be bothered to even post a time frame for anything? A countdown clock would actually serve to motivate people, there is psychological connection to seeing those numbers count down that can drive people to purchase things. But nah, we don't need those things.

I guess I am in the wrong thinking that is a terrible way to treat customers fairly. My apologies. So carry on. Its silly of me to think a customer can ask for such a thing from a store.

Flash sales are not a problem for me either... if they come up at the wrong time I just don't buy anything and it's DAZ not getting money they could have got if the sale would have been handled differently.

Nonetheless it's just stupid marketing to miss out on the chance to make more money by adjusting the flash sales so that everybody can take part in them.

I think those that miss out hate the idea some others didn’t devil

I on the other hand have passed up awesome sales simply because I had no money

that sucks but not anybody else’s problem

Not at all...this is just one of many sales strategies. You have a right to not like it. There definitely is a certain amount of unfairness / competitiveness built in to entice us all to be on alert to buy at all hours. I hate it when I miss some awesome deal, then see everyone talking about it on here the next day. But, there is only so much time (and money)I can devote to Daz.

BTW...I agree that a countdown clock on those flash banners would be nice. I think the reason they don't do that, is because they don't know how long they might want to extend the deal to bring in a few extra sales.
