the executive guy is flubbing in the interview

interesting
Complaint: It's bad enough that the original "Star Trek" is over 50 years old and I was out of high school and witness to its first run. And I was out of college at the first showing of the first "Star Wars" movie. But now I realize that when I first saw "The Wizard of Oz" on TV (in black & white) it was only 18 years old, the same number of years it's been since the first Peter Jackson "Lord of the Rings" movie came out just about the time my professional career was over.
Merry Everythingamas everyone!
Please stay safe and healthy this holiday season... Actually, after that too... In general... Get well, be well and stay well...
That sounds like an order or I'm being bossy, but... Actually... Okay maybe I'll try that... GET WELL, BE WELL and then STAY WELL!!
Megh... That didn't seem intimidating enough... Maybe I should have made growling noises or used a bold font... But people get really warped and uptight when you use all caps... "Stop shouting!", They say... Uh, no I was just sitting here quietly tapping at the touch screen, which is actually 91% quieter than typing on a keyboard... I was merely typing a sentence in a manner that I felt would visually draw attention to the words I elected to use to express my message... These were just written words, as my actual method of shouting at someone involves grabbing them from the front of their jaw and the back of their head and screaming into their ear as if it were a megaphone... So, if you were hearing any loud words, I suggest you- A) Turn down the volume for whatever text reading app you are using... Or- B) Consult a professional psychiatric practitioner and inform them that the voices in your head are acting up again. If the words were visually too loud, I suggest not placing your corneas against the screen, as I'm pretty sure most device manufacturers advise against this sort of behavior...
I usually don't use caps (or wear them) so I don't have to say all that stuff I just said/wrote, which by the way was just an example of how I feel when people start getting really stupid about capital letters... (for some reason predictive text just suggested "capybara" for "capital")...
Anyway... I wanted to write a really nice caring holiday message wishing everyone happiness and good health, but I see where I'm going with this already... In fact I see that even my iPad is seeing where this is going because it's expecting me to mention large South America rodents at any moment... Which I assure you was not my plan.
My intention was to say that in some convoluted manner that I wish all of you a happy and safe holiday and every day... And even if you are alone or not well, bummed out by the holiday season... Please know this... I know I've never met anyone of you... For all I know you may all be sentient alien capybaras conducting some sort of social experiment... (And even if you are, you did a good job... Kudos, ya' wacky space rodents)...
But even if you are alone and bummed out or feeling generally crappy because you just found out Santa isn't real... I just wanted to let you know I care... I know I never met any of you in person and despite the human requirements for visual and tactile familiarity, I consider you all my friends... Even if you are new here, even if you never post or just lurk in the shadow (it's creepy, but understandable), even if you are an extraterrestrial rodent... (Or any fellow creature reading this)... I care and wish you happiness and good health... I know that's lame, I know it's useless to wish on things you can't affect or assure, I know it's probably creepy and weird that I'm even mentioning this at all, I know I can't actually help you or do anything more than offer oddly crafted words, and I know this is an incredibly long sentence that seems to be going on forever...
Despite all that, for whatever it's worth... It's a big, really messed up universe and we are all riding around on a tiny round rock in the middle of vast nothingness, spinning around and around with all sorts of madness biting at our heels and poking at our brains... It's hard and it's crazy, it tears you apart and drives you batty, but for whatever it's worth... People care... Not me... I mean not just me... I should probably fix that... Ah, later... Anyway... There are people that care and you are not alone... Which for many is probably part of the problem, the not alone, but still alone... Surrounded by a seemingly uncaring universe...
But you're not...
There are lots of good and caring folks... Here and all over... And yes even the space capybaras (who actually refer to themselves as Chuxuvatans, and as creepy as their spying on humanity is, just happens to be part of a study they hope will help improve life for most sentient species everywhere)...(incidentally if you are a Chuxuvatan, PM me if I'm not pronouncing that right... I hate mispronouncing names)... I know that being cared about by someone else isn't a lot of help when you are alone or not feeling well... It's not something you can hold in your hand...
It's more of a something you keep in your heart... Not physically, that's messy... But you kinda tuck it away in your soul and hold onto it for a rainy day... Or a snowy day... Or a really hot one... Even a locusty day... You hold on to it.
When you are feeling down... Go out and look at the sky... (It's probably better to do this at night so you don't accidentally stare into that big nearby star, or have a bird poop in your eye)... If you can't go out, go over to a widow... But please don't fall out, I'll get blamed again because this will be the last thing you were looking at and the authorities will be upset...
Anyway... Look up into the vastness of the night sky (or daytime one, carefully avoiding looking at our star or falling bird poo)... Look up and feel the vastness of this universe... For a second feel the world below and all around you, let it sink in that despite all the stupid things that occur on this world, despite all fighting and bickering, all the sadness and despair, despite the seemingly endless sea of troubles that pester you... Despite all the annoying stuff, you are part of a huge and vast universe... Let that vastness sink in for a moment... Let those stars that are billions of light years away, whose photons have traveled billions of miles for millions of years across the universe to register on your optical nerves... Let them remind you that despite all the crap and nonsense down here, despite the unending expanse of the universe... You are a part of it all... And you are cared about... You have friends... You can't see them, you can't poke them with your poking finger, but we are here... It's not a lot, it might be useless, but I like to think that it might be comforting to know...
So whether you celebrate this holiday or Knaxulhavla ( I think that's how it's pronounced... sorry Chuxuvatans), know you being thought of and have someone to talk to who cares...
Well... I guess that's it... Merry Everythingamas and be well.
Your friend, Vic.
Oh... By the way sorry about the Santa comment... Uh... He is real... It was just a joke...
"Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus" is a phrase from an editorial called "Is There a Santa Claus?". The editorial appeared in the September 21, 1897, edition of The (New York) Sun and has since become part of popularChristmas folklore in the United States. It is the most reprinted newspaper editorial in the English language.

...McGyver. Thank you.
Your humourous insight always makes the world seem much better, at the very least easier to deal with.
Yeah must have been a space capybara that tripped me up the other day as some kind of wierd unimaginable test only it understood.
...I know how it goes. Have the water props on the WL but should think about them while I still have the Holiday Discount
Merry Christmas everyone .......
Why is the tv I ordered today cheaper than the tv I got in 2013? The newer tv has more features but is cheaper.
...the one I used to have cost me 30$ at a hotel acution. Actually had programmable buttons on it and a remote. One of those early "cable ready" televisions.
Progress
Fewer separate parts. Automation. 10,000 human workers lost their jobs to machines. Rejoice in your good fortune!
It's made to break in 1 year and 2 minutes time or 1 day after the warranty expires, so keep your old one handy.
I do not have the old tv anymore as I gave it away.
We hardly use all the features on our wide-screen TV. My dad hasn't used the smart TV function since he bought the wireless adapter a few years ago.
...Happy Boxing Day to those who celebrate it.
Raining here this morning with temps in the low 40s.
Life getting back to normal. Ended up making Chinese for my holiday dinner (Broccoli Chicken) as decent fish suddenly got very expensive and I don't bother with that frozen breaded stuff (usually made with pollock which is a very low grade fish). The only fresh fish I found that was semi affordable was Tilapia but recent studies show it is not very good for you (I remember when haddock, rockfish and cod were easy on the budget).
Well tomorrow I get my refund from the SSA for the Medicare premium that is now covered by my state. Also got a letter about my appeal for retroactive benefits with a form I need to fill out and mail back...so finally some progress.
Funny this holiday sale has been the best sale all year. Lots of stuff off the wishlist PC items as inexpensive as 60¢, the PC for a day deals (really got a lot of nice stuff for 1.99$ today In the cart currently have Big Cat 2, and TerraDome 3, and Ivan (wanted him for a couple characters in my picture stories) each for 1.99$ Nice there have been some relatively inexpensive and useful items in the new releases to trigger the discount (and my loyalty discount knocks the price down for those as well). This has been a nice holiday is spite of the mishap I had.
Is "Boxing Day" a special day to use fisticuffs to settle disputes among angry family members forced to endure another Christmas Day angst?
Apparently it got it's name from being the day that people handed out "Christmas boxes" to the staff and tradesmen.
Or, if you prefer the non wikipedia Quote
....well that sort of happened to me a few days before when I encountered a curb that apparently had a grudge against me
holy moley, my hospital bill for my involuntary stay is:
Financial Summary
Glad you're back home!

...ouch. The amount charged is more than I earned in a year at my old job. So has that 16,375$ also been paid?
...yeah feels good sleeping in my own bed, making my own food, not being woken up every couple hours, and not having to ring the nurse when I needed to use the dunny (as they had to disconnect a couple hookups each time). Though I sort of miss this neat device they had to stimulate circulation while I was laying down which was kind of like a pneumatic leg massage that had these soft leggings which would inflate every so often to prevent blood pooling, kind of like what the lower part of a fighter pilot's G-suit does.
McGuyver, your posts are always entertaining to me...and I often need the laugh they draw from me! I'm sure we all appreciate your humor and your well wishes!
I hope you had a wonderful day with family and the wonderful days continue throughout the coming years!
Dana
I ordered a replacement remote for my Blu-Ray player while I was at my mum's. I came home and saw my device has a different code than what is on the replacement remote list. The right remote is a dollar ten more than the one I ordered, which means $1.10 more than what I had budgeted.
My computer is acting slow. Wonder if it has to do with me downloading ZBrush?
Look what Miss Misty did to my hand!
