I like what you've been up to with the ducks, novastrider and robbybobby.   Your fuzz is a good look novastrider. Good feathers is still something I'm trying to figure out.  I don't think I quite got there with the "hair" and eyebrows for the genesis 3 version.

Thank you. I had a longer answer with how it was done, but Daz signed me out of the forum while trying to post and cant rewrite the whole thing X(

But in short, it's based on UHD Fuzzy Cloth, the Merchant Resource. While it's originally made for cloth, you can actually make really good fur with it for antropomorphic creatures like bunnies and foxes (good detailed soft fur, not the spikey stuff you usually get when trying fur shaders) and renders really fast.

Thanks for that explanation. I need to try it for myself.

Here, I'll give you another test I did more recently with it in 4K, so you can zoom in a bit.

So this is the free Krystal model that's been around for ages, from the Genesis 1 era (original to the right). To challenge myself I tried to make it as HD as possible, with a full Iray reshade of every texture.

For the skin I went with Fuzzy Cloth, chose one of the fuzzier, slightly longer styles (theres like 26 of them) and replaced the default fuzzy textures with the original skin texture. You need to do this 5 times; Fuzzy Cloth works with standard skin layer + a stack of 4 Shell Layers on top that give the illusion of depth. Just keep the Opacity maps, everything else can be replaced. In this case it's a full body fur, but if you don't want specific body parts (like hands or a belly) to be fuzzy, you need to black out those parts on the four Opacity maps in Photoshop (except the skin layer, because that's just skin).

The result is a fully HD fur skin with the original, decade old texture looking sharper than ever. And it renders in seconds, unlike LAHM and Strand. It's a great option for people who want to upgrade their antropomorph figures to the next generation, while keeping it soft and cartoony.

Looks really great. Thanks for all of the examples.

Thanks, all. The disease is called Amyloidosis and it's relatively rare. My paternal grandfather's family just happens to come from Donegal County in Ireland, where 1% have the mutated gene that causes this version of the disease.  My father and grandfather both passed from complications attributed to it.  It's given me heart issues that I never had before, along with neuropathy and other assorted symptoms.  I ended up with congestive heart failure, but it was caught in time.  The treatments are not a cure, but are supposed to slow down the progression of the neuropathy in particular.

The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf.  Little Bad Wolf is trying to stop his dad, as usual.

Cute little image there Robby.  I did a little research on your disease.  No fun.  Keep on moving forward and enjoy life!

It’s a pretty diabolical disease.  I have the majority of the symptoms...so does my brother.  He’s responding better to the treatments than I am, but I’m doing OK overall. We take one day at a time.  We talk more now that I’m down in Florida than we did when we lived 20 minutes from one another

Funny how that happens with family sometimes!  LOL

I finally figured out the problem with GenX2.  I transferred Joe Quick's Genesis Mouse morphs to Genesis 3 M&F.  So, here's Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy.  This is followed by Mickey's nephews, Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse; Minnie's nieces, Melody and Millie Mouse; and, of course, Pluto Pup.

I've been attempting to reproduce some of the Futurama robots.

So far I've done Bender and Angleyne, and I just finished Roberto. (Don't tell Roberto that he's crazy, he gets upset).

    Created and rendered with Carrara.

Oh Toon Hero... how I've been thirsting for you... heart

Super quick render. My initial thoughts: I love this character. But he does have some quirks.

He comes completely without eyebrows, not even painted-on ones. I think the product page should have mentioned this. Luckily I had some half-forgotten fibermesh eyebrows lying around somewhere in the back of my library... but if that hadn't been the case then I would have been pretty irritated. Also, he doesn't use standard G8 UV. It's not a deal-breaker by any stretch, but seems a bit unnecessary? All it does is render the character incompatible to some other products (make-up, scars, etc), right?

Anyway, don't let my complainin' fool you: he's gorgeous, and I can't wait to get him into all kinds of trouble! Thank you, Joe!

So I've been playing with Visual Style Shader for a while, and those are the ones that came out properly as cartoon.

Nice! I like your anime inspired style. In terms of shaders I like the girl with the fans the best.

It's Visual Style Shader, and  PWghost for the thing on the ears, seen through Toony Cam Pro.  It's a shame I lost it in a computer crash. For Visual Shaders, my only regret is that I don't know how to use Shader Mixer myself, so I could add a normal map along with it.
