Lol.. excellent.. had an experience like that at the weekend actually (local beer festival, you see ;) )
Beer festival? Isn't it a little too early for Octoberfest? Oh wait, do you guys in the UK even celebrate Octoberfest?

Oh what am I saying? You guys never need a reason to drink beer . . . (or any other kind of alcohol). ~ROFL~

Sadly we don't celebrate Octoberfest here, at least officially.. but there's always beer festivals, be it huge ones in London (which I went to, as it happens) and smaller ones around the local pubs.. (erm yea, I seem to make it to a few of them too).

OK' I'll put the port down for a moment.

In between challenges so getting caught up on a couple of other projects. As usual I just can't post a pic of character or two with no setting so added both Cheirocrates and Bridge of Cheirocrates

Just noticed something about the Curious stuff: I installed the new Hallways texture, tried to load the .duf into D|S4.6 and got a bunch of /data/ not found errors. Re-downloaded and installed Hallways (I still had the original installation from three years ago) and there was a new "Jack Tomalin" folder in /data/ in addition to the legacy /data/ files. Is this going to roll out for all the rest of the Curious/Dubious range? What about the Curious expansion texture sets? Or is it part of the creation of the new DIM-compatible .zip files? Either way, I've got a lot of re-downloading to do...

I believe all DS-native content is being updated to use .duf files and therefore have a folder for the author in the Data folder. It's a fairly lengthy process though.

Correct.. it's kinda being done as addons etc are created for older items.. so may seem a little sporadic.

I got that on the machine where I have the DIM installed Curious Hallway, but not on the machine where I have the Curious Hallway installed manually (BitRock) but installed the new textures from DIM. Rather frustrating at first....

Oh I'd like a couple or three nice beer steins. Anyone seen any nice 3D ones around?

...thanks. Been wanting to use these since I got them. Makes for a nice park setting.

Now all I need are buildings that fit more in with London than the States.

That's exactly what bit me, the old Bitrock installers didn't have the D|S4.6 files, only the new converted DIM installers do. I've got a lot of reinstalling to do over the next years as I find these glitches...

And some of those new things (like this one) relay on the old ds 4 files. I guess a mixup in the making process.

How about some more buildings in the style of Invetero? I love that set, especially the water textures in the fountains.

    But that's a low odds bet ;-)

Yea, that Roman style is one of my favourites.. so it's a fairly safe bet more will be forthcoming in the future ;)

I've been wanting to do something like this ever since I first got some of the train sets. :)
The derailment goes back seven cars, which as much as I tried with various angles, I couldn't quite find a way to see well enough, so I ended up focusing on the front.

Very nice render. I assume the mage had a little hissy fit that caused the derailment. :coolsmirk:

Thank you. Yes, it was painful for all involved. Especially the rail company's insurance.

this is a totally self created room out of some cubes with some add ons from my content including some items made by Jack (mattress and white board (with reworked textures)) the room textures are made out of a texture by fm (fm cellar) the iron texture, I do not know already where I got it but it is great and I use it very often. hope you like it :)

    Hi Mr Jack Tomalin

I created a animation where as I used your library in the middle of it.
I was not able to use all the props that came with it because of how long it would have taken to render but i think you will like what I did :)

    I hope you enjoy it.

    Title: porpah

I thought I would take my testing further by making a glass cover and stand for the King. porpah is King in the D'ni language, a fictitious one from the Myst universe. I am quite happy with the modelling and surfaces...though not too happy about the lighting. Rendered in Blender/Cycles.

The stand texture were used form one of Jack Tomalin's sets Asian Court 1, the backdrop is an archway from the Guild Hall for which I made a displacement map for the writing.

The rope is a shareCG freebie and the King and chess board from the old DAZ3D freebie Giant Chess set the rest I modelled myself.

I don't have any time left for rendering so this will be my last one for a while.

I look at that and the picture and I want to solve a puzzle. I'm walking into another room and twisting a valve wheel and coming back to see if the the king has rotated inside the case and the symbol on the wall changed. :)
